this time isn't Hell [open]
Characters: Rider and you!
Setting: Floors 1, 3 and 6.
Time: November 9
Format: Action, will match!
Summary: A strange tower isn't immune to conquest, as far as the King of Conquerors is concerned. But of course, he has to know what he's conquering first.
Warnings: Slight violence in the third scenario, but hey, when a deer tries to attack you, you'd kill it too, right? Otherwise probably none, really...
[After a touching reunion, Rider sets out to explore the tower, since his newfound autonomy is actually well appreciated. From where he starts in the dormitories, he explores the layout in full, but from there, he figures he might as well start from the bottom and work his way up.]
Floor One
[Of course, when he's half expecting some kind of confrontation based on the attitudes that he's seen thus far, it's a rather pleasant surprise to instead encounter a large dining hall. And for anyone that might see Rider emerge from the elevator, it's a comical scene, since he really only barely managed to get in it, since elevators are generally not made for people eight feet tall and built like an ox. In fact, getting out proves to be more difficult than getting in, and the elevator starts to sound its shrieking alarm as the door is open too long, until he finally manages.]
[...Of course, he seems hardly embarrassed or affected, and immediately brushes off his shoulder with a laugh]
Ha, it is always so inconvenient for this world to be shaped around the people who have shrunk so much... If I have trouble, then Darius would surely be unable to navigate it at all.
[Whether he's announcing that or just talking to himself isn't really clear, but he does take a seat at one of the tables with crossed arms] But this is as good a start as any! A feast to begin, and a feast to mark my victory when this too becomes a part of my territory. So come, bring the mead! Is this not a cause for celebration?
[Yes, he's totally expecting people to serve him. Life is hard when you're a king.]
Floor Three
[Well, his meal probably ended up more modest than a feast, but he's still at least satisfied with some manner of food and drink. Continuing up, the next floor that catches his interest is the great library, and in contrast to the cafeteria, he at least knows enough by now to be quiet here. Still, he towers over nearly every bookshelf, and walks back and forth through the library, gathering a large variety of books. There's books on war tactics and technology, atlases, Greek poetry (the works of Homer especially) and other subjects that speak towards a well-educated and military-minded man. He is disappointed to find no history books, since that was his clear source of figuring out what manner of place this was, but ah, well.]
[Though, once he's satisfied with his pile of books, he doesn't take a table to read, but rather, unceremoniously sits on the ground with legs crossed in an area large enough to accommodate him and the books that are scattered around him.]
[And despite his serious expression as he pours through the books, he will be more than happy to speak with anyone curious enough to inquire why he's so weird.]
Floor Six
[And continuing up, Rider is no less than amazed to find a "floor" (if he could call it that) containing a forest. It's a wonder, and it only furthers his ambition to claim this place for his own. Something as fantastic as this was only worthy to be ruled by the King of Conquerors.]
[He ventures into the forest to observe seemingly every plant that's unfamiliar to him, because that is just as great a pleasure as venturing over the hot sands of Persia. He doesn't run across any of the strange animals, since Rider is comfortable enough to disregard any of them, not feeling any real sense of danger. It's when he's inspecting a stream and the clarity of its water that he encounters a deer which stands on the other side. At first, he greets it with a smile, but seeing that strange shifting and the animal's stance, he understands that this forest is not to be underestimated after all.]
[He stands with a chuckle, pulling the sword at his side from his sheath almost simultaneously as the deer lunges forward to attack. But Rider has no need of his abilities as a Servant to make quick work of the deer, beheading it in a single stroke. But rather than be disturbed by the fact that such a normally docile creature would attack or seeing its unnatural fangs, Rider can only grin, eventually laughing.]
Ha, so this place does present a challenge after all! Good, good, I would hate to claim it so easily. There is no satisfaction in an easy victory.
[He wipes his blade on the grass to clean it before re-sheathing it, but then stands, scratching at his beard thoughtfully] ...Though, hm. I wonder which way that staircase was?

There was no winner to our War. The Holy Grail's manifestation was destroyed.

[He rubs at his beard with a frown, considering this further. To have it destroyed was a waste of all the effort that had gone into their war. All the lives lost for naught. Even if Rider did not consider them equals, and even further, they were mostly enemies, he still felt disappointed over this turn of events. And, funnily, he barely spares a thought to himself in the scheme of this.] What a waste. I am curious as to how this happened, but at the same time, such a detail is unimportant. If that is the course of our war, then I accept it without question.
[A nod, as if to confirm this, but he continues without much of a beat] Instead, our presence here draws many more questions that are of more interest. It is quite an odd place, in more ways than I care to list, and than I imagine you care to hear.

I am certain they are ones I have already experienced. I have been here two months.
At first, I believed the Sixth War was to start, but there are more than seven Servants in the Tower. And another that looks astonishing like I once did.
[A pause before some disdain touched her voice.] She is Roman. One of the Caesars.

[Because it's preferred to the not-quite-death, of course]
Though I am curious to meet all of these Servants, the Roman included! If they would follow me, they would make great additions to my army, and if not, then they still make good, entertaining company! Ahh, well, for the most part. If you would be willing to give such information, what other Servants have be brought here?

There are Servants from the Fifth War, some from other Wars I am unaware of, and none other than us from the Fourth.
From the Fifth, there is Archer and two instances of the same Lancer. One is as I have become, the other Lancer is an idiot, though they are both the same Heroic Spirit. [She knew their identity] From the other Wars are the Roman Saber, the fox-like Caster and Ruler. Ruler is from a War where the Holy Grail no longer sees the Church as fit to be Overseer and has placed one Servant - Ruler - in that position.
[She felt no need to withhold this information from Rider. Given enough time, he would discover it himself.]

[Rider rubs at his beard thoughtfully as if mulling over this information, but his ultimate reaction is quite predictable. He breaks into a large grin, clapping his hands together with excitement.] Good, good! I look forward to meeting all of these Servants, though especially this Ruler fellow... That much is odd to hear, but admittedly, I never understood the role of the Church to watch over our great battle much to begin with.

[Saber chose not to tell Rider that Ruler was of the Saber class. Let him find that out on his own.]
She continues to fulfill her duty here as she did during her War, sheltering masters with no Servant.

[He makes a thoughtful noise, then laughs] Perhaps it is an occasion for another feast, though certainly not one as good as ours, since no wine will compare to Archer's. But if this Ruler proceeds with so much caution, gathering the Servants and Masters together to speak about some formal agreement would be best, would you not agree? I prefer a fight, but with no Grail to win, then there is little reason for such serious bloodshed if someone should think they would gain an additional advantage.
no subject
I am also not so sure there will be no Holy Grail to win here. If not, why would we exist?
[Why would SHE exist? Saber was only present if there was the Holy Grail to win. It was part of her deal with the World.]
no subject
Why indeed? I admit, I am not completely sure of this either, but for at least my own circumstances, there are a few things that would make it certainly strange. For I have no contract, and yet, I also have no need of the mana to sustain this body. It is almost as my wish was granted after all, eh?
[But he chuckles rather sheepishly as he looks down again, like he had when he had admitted it. It still didn't suit his image, so he found it a bit embarrassing to admit, even if he did truly want it.] But that is not my concern. If the Grail should appear, then I will be the first to charge into battle, do not misunderstand! But in its absence, the conniving nature of some of its participants to win before it has even begun is an dishonorable thing.

There are quite a few masters here.

[A deep, thoughtful noise] I feel as if I can count on most Servants to be reasonable, but the Masters I worry about! How many of them are here, roughly?

Then it seems we are near to the numbers for a full war, if it has not been reached already.
[He scratches the back of his head, exhaling loudly as something like a sigh] What strange circumstances! I am interested to see what they hold, but also wary that they bring with them tidings of something ominous.
