Track 376 - Eat It [Open]

Morning - Cafeteria Kitchen

[Yosuke isn't really sure what's possessed him to come this far. It's not like he's ever had a problem eating the cafeteria food, but today? Today he finds himself in the kitchen, staring at a frying pan and with a bunch of eggs at the ready. An omelet. It can't really be that hard, right?]

[Sure, the girls all screwed it up, but that was because they were all genuinely terrible at cooking! No matter what he does, he can't do it that bad]

[Right?]

Okay, so... I crack the eggs first, right?

[Deep breaths]

Midday - Media Room

[And now that his mis-adventures in cooking are over, it's time for his usual pastime - wasting the day away in the media room! Today's choice?]

[Seems he's just kicking back and listening to some tunes. And whether it's nostalgia or something else, today's choice is certainly pop-ier than what he usually listens to. It's the upbeat catchy tunes of one Risette!]

[Approach?]

Late Afternoon - Music Room

Dammit!

[He swears after a very sharp and wrong-sounding note. Closer inspection would show that Yosuke has a guitar in hand and while it's not clear what exactly he's trying to play, he's certainly trying to play something! Judging from the look of frustration on his face, however, it doesn't seem to be going well]

Come on, I get to be on stage with Gas Chamber and now I can't play to save my life? I was never that good, but this just isn't fair!

[And yet despite his lement, there he goes again!]

[Good judgement never was his forte]

[ Sayaka got a sort of habit out of checking this floor everyday to have some relaxing time.

Oh, this song sounds a little familiar! Have a fellow idol approach, a small, polite smile on her face. Might as well get to know some people, and this guy looks just as normal as she is. ]

Hello. This is a nice choice for a song.

[Well hello there! Yosuke actually recalls seeing Sayaka around before - she at least looks familiar - but he's never really spoken to her before. It's a good a time to change that as any, so she gets a warm smile and a wave]

What can I say? I'm a sucker for a catchy song and a cute pop star. What about you?

I can appreciate this kind of music, since I used to work in the showbiz.

[ Before she died and got in the tower, she was basically the most popular idol in Japan. Her smile drops a little at the memory. ]

Do you know who's the singer of this one?

[Used to work in the showbiz? Yosuke raises an eyebrow at that. She was cute... was she...?]

Yeah... this one's Rise Kujikawa, but her fans like to call her Risette. But what was that about being in showbiz?

Were you an idol too?

[There's no way, but... maybe...]

[ It's odd how people don't recognize her immediately, here. She was used to bask in all the glory, that having someone ask her if she's an idol is a bit... disorienting at best. Oh well, there are people from different worlds here. That much she knows, in the few days she's been here.

She'll nod, and smile gently at him. ]

Indeed! I'm Sayaka Maizono. I was a notorious idol before I was brought here.

[Holy crap. He thought he was incredibly lucky to have had the chance to befriend just one idol - and now a second, right in front of him! Yosuke's cup runneth over with idols! He can't help a little of the fanboy impulse, or the gigantic smile on his face]

I knew it! You totally have the look of an idol!

I... I don't suppose you'd be willing to sing? I'm sorry I've never heard of you before, but I'd love to hear you perform!

[ That's such a sudden request. Not that some of her fans didn't use to ask her to sing for them whenever they met her in the streets, but in this context this is certainly weird. She thought her career- the only dream she ever had was over the moment she died and the world was destroyed... ]

... Sure. Do you have a song in mind? Ah, but I don't know your name yet.

[Whoops! He can feel himself blush at the realization - that's what happens when he lets his fanboy impulses override his common courtesy]

Sorry about that, I'm Yosuke Hanamura! And any song is fine, really! Why not pick your favorite?

[It's not like he knows any of her songs off hand, and finding out what her favorite song is like will tell him a little more about her. Win win, right? Sometimes he surprises even himself with his good ideas]

Nice to meet you, Hanamura-kun! [ Giggle. ]

You have a point, there. Would you like me to sing with a cappella or would you prefer some background music? Do we have a karaoke here? [ She looks around. ]

I know for a fact we can arrange some karaoke, but I wouldn't mind either way! A cappella would show off your talents more, but some music might let you cut loose.

Does the lovely idol herself have a preference?

I really wouldn't mind either way! I've got a song in mind now. I hope you'll like it.

[ Sure a karaoke would sound like a better idea, but she'd been singing a cappella many times too, it'll be okay. It sure feels nice to sing in front of someone like when she was still an idol. ]

[He scoots over to the music machine and taps a few keys, stopping Risette from continuing. Sorry, but he's in for a live performance! He can come back to her later]

[ She promptly steps back, clasping her hands together, ready to make her little concert for this one-man audience. ]

[After a few moments he raises an eyebrow - sure enough it's there, with her name attached. The grin on his face could not be bigger - he's in for a treat!]

Take it away!

[And with the press of a button, her karaoke track is going. Time to shine, Sayaka!]

[ A great treat indeed! Though it's been a while since she performed, Sayaka's no rusty at all with her singing. As if she's in front of a loud and wide audience, she does her best like she always does, to catch every note perfectly, using her close fist like she's holding a microphone, and twirling around, doing a little dance. The lack of her idol group is upsetting, but no matter, she's here to make someone happy. No time for sads!

After she's done, she makes a little curtsy at Yosuke to welcome the applauses. ]

[He may only be an audience of one, but she's getting all the applause he can muster! Not only was the song nothing like he was expecting, but he'd never guess she wasn't used to flying solo. The girl's an absolute natural (which of course makes sense if she's a famous idol, duh) and just... wow]

[Someone's blushing! But can you blame the guy? It's not every day he gets a private performance from an idol]

That was incredible! No wonder you're a big idol!

[ At the end of the song, she does a curtsy, not appearing tired in the least. Though her title of Super High School Level Idol doesn't hold much in this enviroment, even if her dreams have been shattered and stomped on... singing for someone still gives her the sparkle she felt during her concerts.

It makes her happy and hopeful, even just for a fleeting moment. ]

Thank you, thank you. I wish I could dress better for the occasion, but I'm glad you liked it.

You're kidding, right? I think if you were all dressed up and gave me a private performance, I'd faint from the excitement!

[Okay so it's an obvious exaggeration, but there's still that kernel of truth! After all, his luck is never that good, and if something like that happened he'd be falling in trash cans for the rest of the day to balance it out. It's just the way his life works]

But, that said, if you ever need an audience to perform for, look me up anytime!

[ This guy is a sweetheart, ok! Pinging on the one thing she loves is the right key for her happiness. ]

I'm going to take it in consideration. I would love to have more people listen to me, maybe in the future I could even hold a concert. [ Fat chance it'll happen, but HEH. ]

A concert huh?

Alright! We'll make it happen!

[Why not, with all the parties they throw in the tower every now and again? He knows just the right people to make it a reality, too. Go figure, right?]

[ Wait wait wait-- her eyes shine at that. ]
