Track 376 - Eat It [Open]

Morning - Cafeteria Kitchen

[Yosuke isn't really sure what's possessed him to come this far. It's not like he's ever had a problem eating the cafeteria food, but today? Today he finds himself in the kitchen, staring at a frying pan and with a bunch of eggs at the ready. An omelet. It can't really be that hard, right?]

[Sure, the girls all screwed it up, but that was because they were all genuinely terrible at cooking! No matter what he does, he can't do it that bad]

[Right?]

Okay, so... I crack the eggs first, right?

[Deep breaths]


Midday - Media Room

[And now that his mis-adventures in cooking are over, it's time for his usual pastime - wasting the day away in the media room! Today's choice?]

[Seems he's just kicking back and listening to some tunes. And whether it's nostalgia or something else, today's choice is certainly pop-ier than what he usually listens to. It's the upbeat catchy tunes of one Risette!]

Late Afternoon - Music Room

Dammit!

[He swears after a very sharp and wrong-sounding note. Closer inspection would show that Yosuke has a guitar in hand and while it's not clear what exactly he's trying to play, he's certainly trying to play something! Judging from the look of frustration on his face, however, it doesn't seem to be going well]

Come on, I get to be on stage with Gas Chamber and now I can't play to save my life? I was never that good, but this just isn't fair!

[And yet despite his lement, there he goes again!]

[Good judgement never was his forte]

[Saber didn't come to this floor often. The Holy Grail had instilled her with enough knowledge that she understood a lot of the devices on this floor, but she was a knight, so it felt a little uncomfortable to be there.

But the music was a little catchy...]

Pardon me. What are you listening to?

[Well now, there's a face he's never seen before! But Yosuke always makes an effort to be friendly, so he smiles brightly at her]

Oh, this? It's a pop idol from back home - Rise Kujikawa! Her fans like to call her Risette though.

If you like it, why not grab a seat? I don't mind!

Music Room

Tohko walked by the music room, reading You Only Live Twice when she heard someone yelling about their playing skills. Curious, she closed the book and wandered into the room, where a boy was holding a guitar and looking rather annoyed. Tohko smiled.

"Pardon, but if you need some help, I can run and grab you a few books on playing the guitar."

[Saber takes a seat and crosses her legs, smoothing her dress.]

I have never heard such before. She is talented.

Yosuke's attention is successfully drawn from the guitar by the arrival of a cute girl! Yet another one he's never met before, as a matter of fact. He can't help but feel a little sheepish that she's seeing him like this, but then again, with his luck he should really just be thankful that he's not in a garbage can.

"You really think it would help?" He gives her a smile and a bit of a sheepish laugh. "I've always just tried learning by ear, but I guess a book wouldn't be a bad idea."

[And later, Yosuke will ponder how most of the people he meets in the tower are attractive ladies. For now, he'll just laugh]

She is! She's a great singer, and she can dance well too!

Just... never ask her to cook.

Tohko chuckled. "While playing it by ear might not be a bad idea, a few basic instruction books and some sheet music may not be a bad idea. Hang here a moment.." Tohko put You Only Live Twice on a nearby table before running off to the library. When she came back, she had about ten music books of various sizes.

"Here you are! These should help!" She cried before slamming them down on the table.

[That garners a frown from Saber. Cooking is IMPORTANT.]

I assume that means she is present in the Tower.

"...Huh? That voice sounds kinda familiar." Labrys stepped forward curiously, red eyes moving from Yosuke to the rest of the room and back again

[ Sayaka got a sort of habit out of checking this floor everyday to have some relaxing time.

Oh, this song sounds a little familiar! Have a fellow idol approach, a small, polite smile on her face. Might as well get to know some people, and this guy looks just as normal as she is. ]

Hello. This is a nice choice for a song.

Yosuke's eyes went wide as he saw her return with what amounted to a mountain of books. He'd expected one or two, not the stack that she slammed down. Nevermind that this girl was going out of her way for a complete stranger - this girl really loved books, huh? He glanced over at the one she carried around, then shrugged.

So what if she loved books? It just means he can tease her a little.

"You really like books, huh? I don't suppose you can help me figure out the music ones? I'm still not great at reading tabs."

[His smile falters for the briefest of moments, but he manages to keep up a brave face]

Yeah, I've heard she is. I'm sure she'd love to sing for you if you ask!

But seriously, never ask her to cook, no matter how much she says she can do it or that it'll be okay this time.

Labrys brought a bit smile to Yosuke's face - he may not have had the chance to get to know her back home yet, but he still considered her a good a friend as any.

"Oh, no one told you? You remember Rise, right? She's a pop idol! Famous singer, actor - the while thing! This is one of her biggest songs back home." He shrugged, tone a little teasing.

"Guess I felt nostalgic or something."

Tohko grinned. "Of course I do! That's why I'm the book girl!" Tohko then opened up one of the basic books and looked it over. However, she sighed and shook her head. "I'm sorry. I don't play any instruments, so I have no idea how tabs or scale reading goes." While it would be nice if she did know how to play an instrument, Tohko was a book girl for a reason. While her singing skills were about average, her playing skills left much to be desired.

"Oh...wow, that's really cool!" Labrys grinned, clasping her hands together excitedly. "So what's that mean, she gets up and sings in front a' a lot of people or somethin'?"

[Well hello there! Yosuke actually recalls seeing Sayaka around before - she at least looks familiar - but he's never really spoken to her before. It's a good a time to change that as any, so she gets a warm smile and a wave]

What can I say? I'm a sucker for a catchy song and a cute pop star. What about you?

In truth, Yosuke wasn't as bad off as he made out to be. He could make it through tabs with a bit of effort - he just wasn't used to them in the slightest. A teacher would have been helpful, but if she was even more lost than he was, then that was that.

"Well, then we'll just have to make do with what we've got! But since you mention it..." Yosuke glanced over at her book once more. "How did you start getting called 'The Book Girl' anyway? It's a cute nickname though."

"Yeah, that's part of it!" Labrys' enthusiasm really was infectious, and Yosuke felt himself getting pumped up.

"And we're not talking a hundred people or anything, but big stadiums! With thousands and thousands of people!"

Music Room

[Coming down the staircase, V/V flies into the room rather than walks into it - all those instruments on the ground, she doesn't want to step on any - before landing next to him.]

I know how to play the guitar. Maybe I'd be an okay teacher?

"Ah--" Her jaw dropped open at that before the girl bounced lightly on metallic feet in her eagerness to hear more. Things like this fascinated her, hearing about the world outside the laboratory and the false Yasogami.

"Wow, for real? Ain't she ever nervous 'bout it?"

"I guess you'll have to..although, if you put out a post on the network, you might be able to find someone with a little more information than me." Tohko offered. If she couldn't help, then she would at least tell him ways that he could find help.

Tohko grinned when he mentioned her title. "Thanks..although, it's my title." She corrected. "I'm the book girl because I know more about books than most people, and I love them more. After all, there aren't many people who can talk about how weird the first draft of Peter Pan was or how Bulgakov burned his first draft of The Mater and Margarita in despair, and there are even fewer who can solve mysteries and help others just be using books!" Once you got Tohko started, it was hard to stop her..

Cafeteria Kitchen

[ Hidetoshi wasn't sure himself why he had decided to explore the kitchen after coming in here to drop off his dirty dishes when he was done with the usual bland breakfast. But here he was.

He's surprised to find some random guy attempting to do what looks like cooking himself an omelet, judging from the frying pan and eggs even though he's seemingly missing the milk, salt, and butter. Hidetoshi can understand why; man, the cafeteria food is sorta awful. He blinks when he hears the teenager muttering to himself. ]

Yeah, you do.

[ And he's be walking briskly over to the next sink over with his dirty dishes in hand to dump them into it. ]

[Why hello there, cute blond girl literally flying into the room and offering to teach him to play guitar! Just give him a moment to realize that no, he's not dreaming and this is a thing that's actually happening. Once he's recovered, though...]

Y-yeah, of course! I'd love some lessons, if you don't mind!

"Well yeah, I'm sure she gets nervous. I mean, who wouldn't? But Rise's a real pro! She can handle it like you wouldn't believe-" Yosuke stopped for a moment, realizing something for perhaps the first time.

"You know, that training is probably what helped her keep her cool in the TV world, too."

"You were all real cool about it, y'know. Like it wasn't even a huge deal or nothin'."

She smiled again, tone of voice sounding almost reminiscent. "It was...kinda neat, know what I mean? Y'didn't really panic or nothin'."
