Track 376 - Eat It [Open]

Morning - Cafeteria Kitchen

[Yosuke isn't really sure what's possessed him to come this far. It's not like he's ever had a problem eating the cafeteria food, but today? Today he finds himself in the kitchen, staring at a frying pan and with a bunch of eggs at the ready. An omelet. It can't really be that hard, right?]

[Sure, the girls all screwed it up, but that was because they were all genuinely terrible at cooking! No matter what he does, he can't do it that bad]

[Right?]

Okay, so... I crack the eggs first, right?

[Deep breaths]

Midday - Media Room

[And now that his mis-adventures in cooking are over, it's time for his usual pastime - wasting the day away in the media room! Today's choice?]

[Seems he's just kicking back and listening to some tunes. And whether it's nostalgia or something else, today's choice is certainly pop-ier than what he usually listens to. It's the upbeat catchy tunes of one Risette!]

[Approach?]

Late Afternoon - Music Room

Dammit!

[He swears after a very sharp and wrong-sounding note. Closer inspection would show that Yosuke has a guitar in hand and while it's not clear what exactly he's trying to play, he's certainly trying to play something! Judging from the look of frustration on his face, however, it doesn't seem to be going well]

Come on, I get to be on stage with Gas Chamber and now I can't play to save my life? I was never that good, but this just isn't fair!

[And yet despite his lement, there he goes again!]

[Good judgement never was his forte]

"I guess you'll have to..although, if you put out a post on the network, you might be able to find someone with a little more information than me." Tohko offered. If she couldn't help, then she would at least tell him ways that he could find help.

Tohko grinned when he mentioned her title. "Thanks..although, it's my title." She corrected. "I'm the book girl because I know more about books than most people, and I love them more. After all, there aren't many people who can talk about how weird the first draft of Peter Pan was or how Bulgakov burned his first draft of The Mater and Margarita in despair, and there are even fewer who can solve mysteries and help others just be using books!" Once you got Tohko started, it was hard to stop her..

Tohko smiled at the flattery. While it wouldn't help him with anything, it was nice to be called that once in awhile. However, she shook her head. "While I did solve a mystery back home, it's not like I'm Sherlock Holmes or anything like that. I just used my books and made a few deductions that came out correctly. Helping people out with books is pretty wonderful though.."

Tohko immediatly thought of Chia. After all, she'd been able to save her from dying by just going on about Osamu Dazai's works. Tohko then chuckled a little. "How about you? Planning on being a rock star?"

Tohko chuckled. "I wouldn't worry. If you work hard enough at it, then you can make a small band, at the very least. Besides, we don't get much music here in the Tower. If you asked around, you might find a few teachers or a few people willing to join in." She didn't know if the guy was going to make it back at his home world, but, seeing as his home world may not even exist, she didn't mention it. She didn't want to bring down his good mood.

Tohko grinned. "Congratulations! That must have been awesome. Hopefully you'll be able to do it again while I'm here so that I can listen to you guys. Although..I've never heard of Gas Chamber before. How good is their stuff?" Tohko was a book girl for a reason. While she knew of some classical composers and had listened to a few modern tracks, her passions always rested on books.

"Ah, I see..well, at least they improved over time. And it is great that you got to play with the people you admire!" Tohko grinned and chuckled. "Arthur Conan Doyle. However, while it would be amazing to meet Doyle, he's dead now. Besides, he wasn't very fond of Sherlock anyways, so if I met him and brought it up, he'd be rather annoyed."
tohko_amano: (relaxed)

[personal profile] tohko_amano 2012-11-13 01:59 pm (UTC)(link)
Tohko smiled. "Well, it's funny that you should point that out. You see, Doyle loved writing historical books, and thought those were better than the stories in his Sherlock Holmes series. However, everyone outside of Doyle preferred Holmes over his historical novels, which frustrated him to no end. If you've ever read into Holmes, you'll see that Doyle tried to kill off the character so that he could get people focused on his other works, but due to public outcry, he was forced to try and revive him, which he did."

Tohko then thought for a moment before shaking her head. "I'm sorry, I don't have a favorite author. There's way too many people who write delicious, warm, wonderful stories!"
tohko_amano: (lecturing)

[personal profile] tohko_amano 2012-11-13 02:38 pm (UTC)(link)
Tohko chuckled. "Right. This book is You Only Live Twice. And you shouldn't forget! While the Bond movies are good, the Bond books are quite different. For instance, the first Bond film, Dr.No is actually the sixth book in the series, the first being Casino Royale.

The movie version of this book is different too. In the film, Bond is working to prevent a nuclear war from breaking out in America and Russia by going to Japan and finding out who keeps stealing their spaceships.

In the book, Bond is highly depressed, due to Bloefield murdering his wife, and he's botched two recent jobs. M, giving him one last chance, sends Bond out to Japan to get some information out of Tiger Tanaka, the leader of the Japanese Secret Service. Bond then learns a lot about the Japanese culture all while trying to get that info out of Tanaka. However, to do it, he'll have to kill a local 'botanist' and his wife, as their house is covered with poisonous plants and is driving suicidal people there in droves. It's really delicious! It tastes like a rice ball wrapped up in a strong piece of nori!" Tohko gushed.

Oh no. Another person didn't take too kindly to her comparison. "J-just a comparison. It's not like I actually go around eating books. It's just how I compare them, you know?" She nervously chuckled and scratched her head.
tohko_amano: (relaxed)

[personal profile] tohko_amano 2012-11-15 06:19 pm (UTC)(link)
Tohko grinned nervously. Hopefully this guy hadn't caught on. Hopefully, he was only joking.

"Oh, I can't pick a favorite book. There are way too many delicious stories to pick on favorite out of the pile."

Despite those words, Tohko knew that she read love stories and children's fairy tales a bit more than most. However, that didn't mean that they were her favorites.
tohko_amano: (excited)

[personal profile] tohko_amano 2012-11-16 03:45 pm (UTC)(link)
"But it's just really hard to pick..after all, who can choose between the snazzy caviar that's The Great Gatsby, or the warm, semi-bubbly bottle of apricot wine that's The Master and Margarita?! Or the pink, fruity bubblegum that is The Golden Key?!" Tohko cried. It really was hard for her to choose between so many different dishes.

"However...I suppose Gallico's The Snow Goose is just so sweet..it's like a rainbow-colored snow cone!" Tohko eventually decided. She wondered what this boy liked the most.
tohko_amano: (Delicious)

[personal profile] tohko_amano 2012-11-19 01:51 pm (UTC)(link)
Tohko grinned.

"If you haven't read The Snow Goose yet, you're really missing out. It's all about the connection between two quiet souls, a lonely painter named Rhayader who lives in a lighthouse next to a marsh, and Fritha, a girl who appears one day carrying an injured white goose. Ah..the love that the have for each other is so pure! Words almost don't do them justice!" Tohko gushed.

"..By the way, what is your favorite thing?" She asked. After all, he had promised to tell her.
tohko_amano: (excited)

It's alright! Don't worry about it!

[personal profile] tohko_amano 2012-12-02 01:21 pm (UTC)(link)
Tohko smiled. "It's not embarrassing! It's cool that you love music that much! I'm not a huge music fan, but it's great that you love it so much. Maybe we should call you 'The Music Boy'?"

This was not teasing. Tohko was actually quite serious about giving Yosuke that title. Tohko, not catching that he was just trying to stall, waited patiently for him to come up with something.
