Morning - Cafeteria Kitchen

[Yosuke isn't really sure what's possessed him to come this far. It's not like he's ever had a problem eating the cafeteria food, but today? Today he finds himself in the kitchen, staring at a frying pan and with a bunch of eggs at the ready. An omelet. It can't really be that hard, right?]

[Sure, the girls all screwed it up, but that was because they were all genuinely terrible at cooking! No matter what he does, he can't do it that bad]

[Right?]

Okay, so... I crack the eggs first, right?

[Deep breaths]

Midday - Media Room

[And now that his mis-adventures in cooking are over, it's time for his usual pastime - wasting the day away in the media room! Today's choice?]

[Seems he's just kicking back and listening to some tunes. And whether it's nostalgia or something else, today's choice is certainly pop-ier than what he usually listens to. It's the upbeat catchy tunes of one Risette!]

[Approach?]

Late Afternoon - Music Room

Dammit!

[He swears after a very sharp and wrong-sounding note. Closer inspection would show that Yosuke has a guitar in hand and while it's not clear what exactly he's trying to play, he's certainly trying to play something! Judging from the look of frustration on his face, however, it doesn't seem to be going well]

Come on, I get to be on stage with Gas Chamber and now I can't play to save my life? I was never that good, but this just isn't fair!

[And yet despite his lement, there he goes again!]

Well, what're you waiting for? You gotta crack the eggs before you can get started!

[She did at least that much right with her own ~~mouth-destroyingly spicy~~ omelet back home, okay.]

Yeah, no kidding! Though things went sort of crazy, so...

[He's more than happy to trail off, because the less said about recent events? The better. Time to change the subject!]

Yeah, I'm a little tired of eating all the pre-made crap, and I figure even I should be able to do this if I take my time.

[After all, even if the girls' omelets were inedible, they at least looked decent! If they can figure that much out, then he should be able to not add the crazy crap they did, right?]

Well, I just... I want to make sure I've got the ingredients right, you know?

Tell me about it! [...Or, y'know. Don't. Plz. Because she reeeeeally doesn't want to talk about it, at least not...just yet.] Is it really like that here every month?

It does kinda get a little old, but at least it's not still pumpkin everything this month too, right?

[........Yeeeeeeah well, guess who didn't learn her lesson about her omelet-making skillz (or tragic lack thereof)? Like, AT ALL.]

What ingredients? All you've got out are the eggs! You need way more stuff than that! You need milk and salt and mushrooms and onions and cheese and peppers and plenty of chili powder and some wasabi and hot sauce and butter, for starters!

[HERE, SHE WILL START GETTING ALL THOSE THINGS OUT FOR YOU AS SHE LISTS THEM OFF

It's... different every month, and that's the best I can say.

[Because at this point Rise's cooking skills are a welcome distraction from the horrors of the tower - for about two seconds, because the horror of Rise's cooking is just as bad at times]

Rise-chan, I, uh, I don't-

[Crap she's on a roll. What the hell is he supposed to do now?!]

[BUT WAIT!]

[An idea strikes!]

[Rise made an omelet before, it was just the omelet that sucked upon the spicy teat of the devil. And if Naoto was able to supervise the girls into making an edible cake... then maybe he can supervise Rise into making an edible omelet! It'll be tricky, but it's possible, and it'll be his greatest accomplishment ever - getting Rise to make something EDIBLE!]

[Challenge accepted]

I don't really eat things as spicy as you like them - why don't we cut down on the wasabi and the chili powder?

...Somehow that doesn't sound very comforting...

[...That...is probably actually a VERY good idea, Yosuke. The things she'd made as a celebrity guest on cooking shows and such always came out just fine, though of course, she'd been VERY closely supervised then and all the ingredients were right there, with less than zero room for any sort of improv.]

[Still, it's a great idea! ~~...IF...you can manage to keep a veeeery close eye on her, anyway...B3~~]

[Rise pauses in the middle of bringing over two more TOTALLY necessary ingredients and pouts a little, a canister of Habanero powder in one hand, and one of cayenne pepper in her left.]

Aww~ But it's a lot more interesting that way! It's no fun to make it the same as everyone else always does!

And we won't make it boring! I just...

[Hmm, how can he put this delicately and not hurt her feelings]

I just can't handle the same heat you can. It can still be spicy, we just have to keep the audience in mind! Right?

[There, he'll put it in idol terms! He can't fail!]

[... well, he can, but that's not the point]

[At first she pouts a little at not completely getting her way...but then he puts it in idol terms, she seems ~~keyword: SEEMS~~ to understand more what he's saying, and the pout vanishes, though she still doesn't look completely convinced.]

Hmm...well, okay then. I guess it is your omelet after all...

[Back goes the Habanero powder and the cayenne pepper, siiiiigh... :C]

[But NOPE, she'll still find a way to make it awesome, so there! Just you wait, Yosuke-senpai, she won't let you down!]

All right then, let's get started already! First, you crack two of those eggs into a bowl, add some milk, and then beat 'em together really well!

[It's... working?]

[IT'S WORKING!]

[Yosuke can barely contain his jubilation. His master plan is working! Rise will cook something, and he'll have directed it! Truly his legend will be one for the ages!]

[... oh, right, but he should still follow her directions! So crack go the eggs and in goes the milk. Why milk? He's not sure, but it doesn't seem too weird so he doesn't argue. Besides, here's his chance for an all out attack! Those eggs never saw it coming]

Alright Rise-chan! Where do we go from here once I finish?

[Rise's already over at the stove, making sure the skillet's at least a little warm before putting the butter on it.]

Great job, Yosuke-senpai! Now, once the butter's melted, you pour the eggs into the skillet--and you HAVE to keep the skillet moving, like this!

[She demonstrates, then passes the skillet back to him.]

*chuckle* Otherwise the eggs'll start to stick to the pan, and you'll just have to make scrambled eggs instead.

Alright, pour the eggs, keep it moving.

[He nods and waits for the butter to melt, watching it like a hawk. MELT, BUTTER! MELT DAMN YOU! But eventually the butter starts melting and then it's melted and in go the eggs! Yosuke's grinning now, feeling much more confident as he starts moving the skillet as directed. He's got this!]

[... except...]

... crap, how do I know when it's ready?

It'll start looking more solid. When it does that, you have to tilt the skillet like this-- [she'll just be putting her hand on top of yours to show you how to tilt it, don't mind her~] --and use a spatula to lift the edge of the part that's already set a little bit, so the part that's still all runny can get cooked, too.

[She demonstrates the spatula thing, then hands it off to him as she relinquishes full control of the pan to Yosuke again.] You do that on every side, until there's no more liquid on top.

And then...hmm. You know, you're acrobatic enough that you could probably flip the whole thing! That can be really hard, even though chefs do it on TV all the time, and make it look so easy! So...I usually just put whatever filling I want in the middle, then fold it over.

[What will you do...?
