Summary: Shion wakes up, and decides to explore a little because that's totally a good idea.

[It was like a waking nightmare, and it felt completely surreal. Waking up in the tower, reading the letters that had been left there for her. She almost didn't know what to make of it. There was no way something like that could have happened to the Elsa... And her friends.

It didn't take her too long to push past the shock. She knew she had to get up and get out (and get her blood moving before she froze to death). She found her clothes and her weapon in the trunk at the end of her bed, and as soon as she was properly dressed, she set off to find out what had really happened.

After finding it, she rode the elevator down, and when the doors opened at Floor 21, she exited to the stairs. She wasn't sure why. Some instinct drew her out, and downward. Past the restaurant, and very carefully down the crumbling outdoor ramp. It was possibly somewhere in the bloodied hand print room that echoed with tortured screams that she began to wonder if her instincts were really something she could trust anymore, as she picked up the pace. She raced down the next few floors, as fast as she could without injuring herself, until finally she reached the 14th floor.

She was tired, cold, frightened, and confused. The media room seemed safe enough, and electronics were a somewhat familiar sight. So, looking shaken, she sank to her knees just off the stairs.]

What is this place...?

No, tha--

[The rest of her statement is drown out by loud static. A TV a few feet away flicked on with deafeningly loud static, and strange swirling images in the "snow" on the screen.]

[temptestament]

*He winces at the sudden loud noise, then rolls his eyes and gets up.*

I hate it when they do that. Do you want to head to one of the floors that doesn't have creepy televisions waiting to interrupt us.

*Somehow, his voice easily carries over the static.*

[uzuki]

[Well, that's a bit surprising. But she nods, covering her ears]

[temptestament]

*He reaches down and offers his hand.*

I can skip us over the more unpleasant floors, if you want.

[uzuki]

[She agrees, though her response is inaudible of the static, and she takes his hand]

[temptestament]

*He helps her to her feet and space distorts around them, leaving them standing in a flowering, but still cold, meadow.*

There. This floor is actually completely peaceful, aside from the occasional wandering monster.

[uzuki]

[It's nice to be able to actually hear again. She looks around, surprised there's really a place like this in the tower. She shouldn't really be surprised by anything anymore though...]

It's beautiful...

[Despite the cold, of course. But flowers always did brighten her mood, even if just a little.]

[temptestament]

It's usually warmer than this, but then, so is the rest of the Tower. But it's still a nice place to get away from everything else.

[uzuki]

[She nods.]

I guess that even in something so terrible there's still something good... Even if it's just something small. Like this.

[temptestament]

There's the occasional silver lining. Just...be careful. The administrators like to mess with us and that usually includes someone getting killed. They can revive us, but trust me...dying can get really painful.

[uzuki]

Dying... You mean you can't really die here?

[That's... Relevant to Shion's interests.]

[temptestament]

Not permanently, but it definitely still feels the same.

[uzuki]

[That idea is really amazing to her. Not that she feels it makes up for anything else the people running the tower are doing... But still, to have that kind of power, or technology, whichever it was. She really wants to know what's behind it.

BUT, she can see this conversation topic isn't a favorite of Allen's, so she puts that idea to rest for now.]

I wonder how this place works... This is one of the floors of the tower still, right? Can you really go that far into the distance? [She motions off in some direction]

[temptestament]

Yeah. It's actually bigger on the inside than the outside, so you can go as far as you want. It's not necessarily a good idea on some of the floors like this, but it's possible.

[uzuki]

I can imagine...

[She readjusts the blanket covering, trying to keep the cold air out.]

There isn't anywhere that's warm, is there?

[temptestament]

*He shakes his head.*

The heating's out in the entire tower. I know where to get some wood for a fire, though.

[uzuki]

Okay.

[A fire would be warm, and just an all around ideal setting.]

Let's go get it then.

[temptestament]

...Do you have your MWS with you? I can't teleport us straight to that floor, so we'll have to stop two below it and that's one of the dangerous ones if you aren't lucky.

*He knows he can protect her, but he's also sure she would hate being helpless.*

[uzuki]

Yes, that was one of the things that came with me.

Why can't you go straight to that floor?

[temptestament]

My powers don't work there. The floor itself and the one below it are harmless as long as we don't fall, but I can't even use Ethers on them.

[uzuki]

Oh. Okay then.

[She readies her MWS.]

I'm ready.

[temptestament]

Alright, I'll take us to the closest floor I can get us to. Careful, though, I'm going to be putting us on the staircase.

*Space distorts around them again, leaving them on the staircase of a wide open room with the lights dimmed, as if it were nighttime. And since it is night, the tower's monsters are out in force.*

Watch it, the stairs have a habit of falling out from under you.

[uzuki]

[Well, it wasn't what she was expecting, but she nods. She starts up the stairs after him, and as soon as she gains confidence in her stair climbing ability, said stairs are no longer under her feet.

She gasps, and immediately reaches out to Allen with her free arm.]

[temptestament]

*He turns when he hears her gasp and quickly grabs for her arm. His other hand grabs onto the spine of the spiral staircase, leaving him leaning forward as he thinks about how to haul her up best.*

Are you alright?

[uzuki]

[Well, she looks pretty frightened, and she's wincing because being dangled by your arm is actually kind of painful.]

Ehnn... Yes, I'm okay.
