ᴇɴᴛʀʏ ᴏɴᴇ
Characters: Yukiteru and YOU
Setting: Room 2-20 & Cafeteria
Format: Prose initially, but I'll match!
Summary: Yukki arrives the morning after the 'happy end.' He's not taking it well.
Warnings: A kid dangerously close to going into shock after all he's been through;; also spoilers for Mirai Nikki.
Room 2-20:
The poor kid is obviously freezing. It's quite a jump from a moderate climate like Japan in mid-summer to the frigid temperatures like this; combine that with the fact that he's here at all, and everything that had happened just before arriving here, and it's a miracle he hasn't completely gone into shock yet. Operative word here: yet.
He's seated on his bed, the blankets wrapped tightly around himself, including a bright blue blanket that looked as if it had seen a lot of wear and tear over the years. There's an open cellphone on his lap, plugged into a nearby wall, and he's been staring at it intently since he arrived here.
UNKNOWN DATE, 12:19 PM :: A NEW LIFE BEGINS IN THE TOWER.
There is no entry after this. He's never had that problem before, and it really doesn't help his state of mind right now. And 'unknown date?'
... Yes. Of course. They failed. He and Yuno both did. It's the only conclusion, and it perfectly explains what he read in those letters. The world was destroyed, time and space torn asunder by what Deus warned them about. The Survival Game was over, and nobody won. It was true, then... Yuno did love him, despite her attempts to persuade both of them otherwise. She couldn't kill him any more than he could kill her. And he couldn't have thought of a worse way to confirm what he already knew than this.
Yukiteru falls sideway onto his bed, wrapping the blankets tigher around himself. It's hard to tell if the shaking is caused by stress, or just shivering.
Cafeteria
Yukki has been sitting there for a while, staring at the oatmeal. He's tried to make it a bit better; but he can't eat it. He hasn't touched it, and it isn't from the fact that he knows it's going to taste bad. He just has no appetite right now, and he hasn't for 24 hours now, from the time he woke up in his own world, to when he woke up here, knowing what was going to happen that day. This could have been a five-star steak and he still wouldn't have wanted to eat it. Especially not in this temperature.
It's clear to anyone who sees him he's upset, and hasn't taken to the Tower well at all. Especially since he hasn't seen hide nor hair of Yuno since arriving here, and if he's here for the reason he thinks he is, then surely she has to be, as well. After all, isn't it both of their faults their universe was destroyed? Through their inaction?
He doesn't want to think about it, but he can't help it. The Survival Game has now officially taken everything from him, including, as it would appear, Yuno. He had nothing left to lose. And as it would appear, nothing to gain, either.
He closes his eyes, and looks down, fighting back tears.

... well, there was that, too. This oatmeal was disgusting, and his state of mind at the moment certainly didn't help.

There wasn't much oatmeal left in the bowl, so Tohko quickly finished it off before getting up, grabbing a nutrition bar, sitting back down, and handing it to the boy.
"Here you go. This may help take away that taste."

She was right, though. He needed to take care of himself. Death being impermanent or not here, if Yuno did show up here... she'd go completely insane if anything happened to him. And he didn't want that, for anyone's sake; especially not Yuno's.
"... thanks."

Tohko then paused. "Come to think of it..what is your name?"
no subject
Yeah... she would need to know his name, wouldn't she? "Yukiteru. ... if you meet her, Yuno will probably call me 'Yukki.'"

He's not sure whether he wants her to find Yuno or not. On one hand, he misses her terribly... on the other, Tohko is way too nice to deserve being on the receiving end of one of Yuno's episodes. "... if she starts acting weird, please just get away from her. She's... well, I'm the only one who knows how to get through to her when she gets like that."
no subject
"What sort of episodes? Crying, screaming, temper tantrums, killing people?"
no subject
"... Try all of the above," he commented dourly. "I know, I know, she's dangerous. Believe me, watching her hack people who were trying to kill me to pieces with an axe was my first clue." ... kind of a lie, that was actually his second. His first clue was how casually she suggested they kill the Third, with a close runner up being her abnormally protective nature she's been showing ever since, including against Minene, shortly before he shoved a dart through her eyeball. "... but I love her anyway. And I still do."

Sorry, Tohko. But... maybe after he's had some time to cool off?

Tohko's story wasn't easy to tell either..and neither were her friends. She was a patient person. She could wait.
no subject
"Sure... okay." Well... that's a start, right?

"Let's see..as for what else I can tell you about the Tower, monsters do roam the hallways at night. While you are probably used to fighting, if you're not skilled at hand-to-hand combat or with a weapon, then you should ask someone to teach you."
no subject
Any time he did any himself, it involved either a gun, or a well-placed dart piercing a Future Diary.

And according to her, it was half of the basis for their relationship. When she said that, it hurt him more than anything else he could ever have imagined. After all they had been through together, all of the pain and death and sadness they had seen, caused, and been through... that should have been the one thing she couldn't doubt. That he loved her.

While you would just wake up again the next day, it was still a pretty painful experience, and the less times you died, the less life was wasted, the better.
no subject
"I... I can't let that happen." He broke eye contact, lowering his eyes to the ground.
no subject
"Then learn how to fight from someone. If you have people to protect in some way, then you're going to have to learn here."
no subject
But she wasn't here, was she? No... no, if she was, even after her claiming not to love him and accusing him of not really loving her, she wouldn't dare let anyone else touch him or show him any kind of affection. He was hers, and she was the only person allowed to touch him or throw him anyway. Like a piece of property.
A role in life he had accepted.

"Good. A red-haired man named Reno has set up a small fighting school of sorts. If you pop on the network and ask him to train you, I'm sure he wouldn't mind. There are probably quite a few other people who wouldn't mind teaching you as well."
Since it seemed like he'd calmed down, she removed her hand from his shoulder.
"I'd offer to let you train with Saber and I, but I don't think your girlfriend would like that, and I don't think you would be happy if Saber restrained her."
Here, have a failtag.
"Reno, huh..." Weird choice of name. Wasn't that a city in North America? "... okay. I'll try to find him."
Pfff..xD; Don't you mean an awesome tag?
