Hacking #05: Cold days

Setting: Floor 13, Floor 32 and Floor 1.
Format: Brackets to start with, but I can match you!
Summary: In which April is a bit of a grump about the cold, but also kinda glees and plays about in the snow. And also makes food.

[Floor 13]
[With how cold it was getting lately, April really needed to have something more warm to wear. Her trenchcoat was good at keeping her warm most of the time, but she definitely needed more than that. Which is why she's sitting in the workshop and attempting to make a scarf. Except she isn't too good with a needle, due to how she keeps stabbing herself.]

Ow! Ugh, dammit... Stupid cold... [Doesn't stop her from continuing to try to make one though. Despite how she keeps stabbing herself with a needle.]

[Floor 32]
[April had only really wandered to this floor to get some food. But when she sees the snow falling, she really, really can't resist going to play around in it for a while. It never snowed back home, which is why she's gonna make the most of it now.

So anyone that ventures to this floor will find one April attempting to build a snowman. And failing a bit as she tries to keep it from falling over.]

[Floor 1]
[And once she does finally get around to hunting for food, she can later be found cooking in the cafeteria. It seems like she was able to catch an animal of some kind, since there's some meat cooking on top of the stove, and thanks to having stored some of it away a while ago, she's sipping on tea of some kind as she cooks. She's glad that they can have hot water, at least. And right now, having some kind of hot food sounds good too. And April would be happy to share, if anyone asks.]

Do we have enough sewing machines here? In the workshop, I guess, but...

... There are a few in the workshop, from what I've noticed. But they don't tend to be used much, though there are a lot of people who are good at sewing by hand.

I'll check out the workshop when it's a bit warmer and I won't freeze my fingers off.

Good plan. It would be bad if that happened, or if your fingers get so numb that you sew yourself to the fabric and don't even notice.

Better to just avoid it.

[technologic]

Exactly. Though with how the temperature just seems to keep dropping, it might be best to avoid sewing in general if you're not really good at it.

How long until spring?

Uhhh... I think it starts around March. So about 3 or so months.

[alephbet]

Ehe... Well, hopefully the heat will kick in at least after this month. Hopefully.

I'll cross my fingers if I still can move them.

... Do any of your demons have fire powers or anything like that?

[alephbet]

A few of them. Mara, Anubis...

[technologic]

Build a campfire in your room, so you can at least be warm at night and such. Wood is easy enough to come by, and so is stuff that can be used as tinder.

Time to explain Mara to my roommates.

[April gives a small chuckle.] They hopefully shouldn't complain too much if you tell them it's Mara that's keeping the fire going.

[April will probably be able to hear the screaming from here.]

Well, I wish you luck with that. But a fire in your room should help you to stay warm. Oh, and you'll want to split any wood you find, since that tends to burn better.
