Definitely not a "vurp" and definitely not something she wants to taste
Characters: Vanellope and anyone who's willing to talk to a brat with dirty hair!
Setting: First floor cafeteria.
Format: Either or! I'll be starting with action, but I'll follow your lead if you want something else.
Summary: Vanellope has discovered that she has to eat oatmeal and she is not amused.
Warnings: May be vaguely spoilerish if you haven't seen Wreck-It Ralph yet. Also, Vanellope gives inappropriate nicknames.
[This day was already turning out to be way weirder than Vanellope wanted to deal with. The last thing she remembered-- those creepy bugs coming out of the ground, and a crash, and Ralph yelling, and then--
...waking up here, and finding that weird note. Luckily the words were all simple enough for her to understand. Unluckily... the words were all simple enough for her to understand. No way could Sugar Rush have been destroyed! Glitches couldn't leave their game, right? And... and...
But those bugs, A small, nagging voice in the back of her mind whispered. Remember those bugs?
She didn't want to deal with it.
Another thing she didn't want to deal with? The jumpsuits. Uh, hello? Totally not her style! Her hoodie was much better racer material, thank you. She'd changed clothes and grabbed a handful of candy from her trunk ASAP.
Exploring the tower was something she definitely needed to do. She found herself at the bottom floor cafeteria more quickly than she would have thought - idly bringing a piece of licorice up to her lips to chew on, she passes through the doors.
A moment later, just after swallowing, she gags. Both hands fly up to her mouth and she makes a dash for the nearest trash can, jumping up to empty her stomach into it.]
What--?!
[When the vomiting subsides, she hops back down onto the floor and eyes the licorice suspiciously.]
...bad licorice.
[With that, she pops a mint into her mouth. A moment later, she has to jump back up to the edge of the trash can. This is not okay. She's sure she could have some fun with it if it didn't make her stomach hurt so bad... but it does hurt. And it's not just one or two candies. She's trying it out with everything she's got, and the result's the same every time. Finally, she collapses on the ground next to the trash can, her face a little green.]
This really stinks!

[She pauses, trying to collect herself. The first part was a bit frantic because nononononono..Little ones are not allowed to be sad.]
I met someone from my own world who thought the world ended after one event..but I know it wasn't. Because then I would not be here.
[She holds out a hand, offering a hug or at least showing she was there.]
Have faith Little one.

But she keeps thinking back to those creepy bugs and she can't help but wonder...
She shakes her head. No. No more thinking about it.]
...I've got heaps and heaps of faith! It's gonna be okay. Besides, my world can't be gone because it's not possible for me to leave my world. So if I'm here, I'm still in my world, which means it's not gone, right?
no subject
Exactly, Just because they say it is gone does not mean that they are telling us the truth.
[Although something she just said makes her think. That was a odd thing to say...]
What do you mean by 'you can't leave your world'?
no subject
I've tried to before but it's never worked. Everyone else from my world's been able to, though.
It's just ... one of the joys of being me.
You do realize She's never going to let her go now right?
[She's going to very carefully avoid trying to lie or even saying anything much about leaving her world. Because maybe this is what the kid needs right now. The idea she is still back home.]
That's ok, hugs are cool!
[She sniffles. Just a little - but it's there.]

[She's not going to say a word but she noticed.]

[She lets go with one hand and holds up her hands and with a moment on concentration, her hand and halfway down her arm is enveloped by a rainbow energy.]
I practice with it every day to keep my skills with it in top shape. Like a muscle, It can weaken over time.
no subject
That is SO COOL!!
[Her eyes are wide. Previous troubles forgotten, she skips around Meiling in order to get a look at it from all angles.]
How'd you find out that was your power? How do you do that? What kind of a muscle is it? Do you use it for other stuff too? Why's it rainbow?
no subject
I learned it when I was still a young youkai in the outside world. It was a very very long time ago and I was training with my teacher and class when it showed up. Scared my teacher because he thought I was on fire.
[She ends up sitting down on the ground. Vanellope is reminding her so much of her Mistress's little sister just by how she talks and acts. It's cute.]
Ki is more of a spiritual muscle then a physical one. Even though I don't like to use it for anything other then practice and fighting hand to hand..I also can use it for Danmaku contests. I don't usually win in those...but it does the job!
[She has to think on the last one. There are many reasons she could give but the one she feels would be the best said.]
As for why it's rainbow, I am also a gardener for my Mistress along with being her gate guard. I have always loved the colors of the flowers around and I have a feeling it took to that when it formed.

[Her game's theme is sung in Japanese. So sue her.]
What's a danmaku contest? Is that something only people who can make magic lights and stuff can do?
What kind of flowers did you have in the garden? Do you have flowers in your room here? ...are we allowed to put stuff in our rooms or do we have to leave it the way it is?
no subject
[Meiling doesn't seem to mind at all. She's used to being called all sorts of things. Although that was when they were trying to kill her BUT STILL-]
I mostly kept roses and other red flowers closer to the gates, to keep up with the name of the Mansion. Further in the private ones, I used all sorts of colors and flowers. I kinda wish I could find some of them and put them in my room..But I haven't found any that would stay alive long enough in the cold.
[There is a pause and a thoughtful look]
Not sure about the rooms. I'm still a newcomer to the tower myself so some of the rules and such I have not found out about yet. I would hope so though, the rooms look....Dull and lifeless.
no subject
[Never saw it for herself, since she never left Sugar Rush.]
The flowers sound pretty... I hope we can decorate the rooms! They're boring. There's no life in 'em! Why have a room if you can't make it your own?
no subject
I do agree but as far as I can see, the only safe thing to fill or decorate is the trunks. They don't seem to be bothered by anyone else.
no subject
[She says, with a smile. Yeesh.]
Couldn't you just tell your roommates not to touch your stuff if you put things up on your walls?
