Definitely not a "vurp" and definitely not something she wants to taste
Characters: Vanellope and anyone who's willing to talk to a brat with dirty hair!
Setting: First floor cafeteria.
Format: Either or! I'll be starting with action, but I'll follow your lead if you want something else.
Summary: Vanellope has discovered that she has to eat oatmeal and she is not amused.
Warnings: May be vaguely spoilerish if you haven't seen Wreck-It Ralph yet. Also, Vanellope gives inappropriate nicknames.
[This day was already turning out to be way weirder than Vanellope wanted to deal with. The last thing she remembered-- those creepy bugs coming out of the ground, and a crash, and Ralph yelling, and then--
...waking up here, and finding that weird note. Luckily the words were all simple enough for her to understand. Unluckily... the words were all simple enough for her to understand. No way could Sugar Rush have been destroyed! Glitches couldn't leave their game, right? And... and...
But those bugs, A small, nagging voice in the back of her mind whispered. Remember those bugs?
She didn't want to deal with it.
Another thing she didn't want to deal with? The jumpsuits. Uh, hello? Totally not her style! Her hoodie was much better racer material, thank you. She'd changed clothes and grabbed a handful of candy from her trunk ASAP.
Exploring the tower was something she definitely needed to do. She found herself at the bottom floor cafeteria more quickly than she would have thought - idly bringing a piece of licorice up to her lips to chew on, she passes through the doors.
A moment later, just after swallowing, she gags. Both hands fly up to her mouth and she makes a dash for the nearest trash can, jumping up to empty her stomach into it.]
What--?!
[When the vomiting subsides, she hops back down onto the floor and eyes the licorice suspiciously.]
...bad licorice.
[With that, she pops a mint into her mouth. A moment later, she has to jump back up to the edge of the trash can. This is not okay. She's sure she could have some fun with it if it didn't make her stomach hurt so bad... but it does hurt. And it's not just one or two candies. She's trying it out with everything she's got, and the result's the same every time. Finally, she collapses on the ground next to the trash can, her face a little green.]
This really stinks!

[Her eyes are as wide as saucers. She shuffles a little closer to him, peering at him appraisingly.]
..I can see it! You look all regal and stuff. And you don't have a lisp!
[And you're not a code-hacking jerk, which makes you an infinitely better king in Vanellope's eyes.]
So what're you doing all the way out here if your kingdom's somewhere else?
no subject
[But he's happy to talk about his kingdom, so he doesn't really wait for a response] Ahh, so indeed! It is something of a complicated matter, for my kingdom is long gone to the past, in one sense, but also never far, for the pride of kingship never leaves my heart.
But it is not also of my own choice that I am here, nor any others, as you will find. We are all here as captives, though our captors would think otherwise, it would seem. Did you find a letter when you awoke?
no subject
...so it's far away but nearby?
[She furrows her brows at that and puts her hands over her heart, looking down at them. She can kind of understand what he's saying. She may be far away from Ralph and her home, but her good memories of the both of them are there to stay. After a few quiet moments, she looks back up at him.]
Yes, I saw the letter. It's... it's not true, right? Our homes aren't actually gone, are they? I don't want to believe it but...
[For all she knows it could be. Oh, why did she have to go and crash her kart right when things were heating up? Why'd she have to disappear? She doesn't know what's going on with Sugar Rush right now and doesn't know what happened in her absence, and that bothers her a lot more than she wants to admit.]
They've gotta be dirty, stinking liars! They've gotta!

[He's still torn on it, personally. He's heard claims that would certainly help him to believe it, such as the pain that those connected to their worlds feel upon going to one of the floors supposedly displaying their worlds, but it was more than difficult to believe. So he had taken the stance of hope until faced with certainty.
And, as such, despite the serious tone and expression he takes for the first statement, his smile returns for the second.] But there is also no reason to lose the hope that they may still exist. Ahh, though with that much, it still remains that we are stuck seemingly far from them!
no subject
[She keeps saying that and thinking that. Glitches can't leave their game, so if she's still around, that means her world has to still exist because she can't leave it - so they're all in Sugar Rush? But that doesn't make sense, either. So maybe Sugar Rush was destroyed, and she somehow managed to make it to... some weird part of Game Central Station? She was pretty sure there weren't any towers there, though.
But it couldn't be gone... Because Ralph was in her world right before she vanished. And if the place was destroyed then, if he was still there when it happened, then...
She shakes her head. No, she's not going to think about it.]
Maybe we're still in them, or in one of them, and the reason they don't want us to leave the tower is that if we got outside it'd be really easy to see that they're lying and they wouldn't have any way of keeping us here.
But I don't get why they'd want so many people here though... it's weird!

[He chuckles] But for now, we are brothers and sisters in captivity and arms, it would seem! So though I may not be your friend, I welcome you with good will that we are not necessarily provided by our hosts.
no subject
[She nods a few times.]
Brothers and sisters, huh? I always wanted a sibling!
[She grins widely.]
Thanks for the welcome! So what's the best floor in this tower thing, bro?
