Characters: Vanellope and anyone who's willing to talk to a brat with dirty hair!
Setting: First floor cafeteria.
Format: Either or! I'll be starting with action, but I'll follow your lead if you want something else.
Summary: Vanellope has discovered that she has to eat oatmeal and she is not amused.
Warnings: May be vaguely spoilerish if you haven't seen Wreck-It Ralph yet. Also, Vanellope gives inappropriate nicknames.

<sub>[This day was already turning out to be way weirder than Vanellope wanted to deal with. The last thing she remembered-- those creepy bugs coming out of the ground, and a crash, and Ralph yelling, and then--

...waking up here, and finding that weird note. Luckily the words were all simple enough for her to understand. Unluckily... the words were all simple enough for her to understand. No way could Sugar Rush have been destroyed! Glitches couldn't leave their game, right? And... and...

But those bugs, A small, nagging voice in the back of her mind whispered. Remember those bugs?

She didn't want to deal with it.

Another thing she didn't want to deal with? The jumpsuits. Uh, hello? Totally not her style! Her hoodie was much better racer material, thank you. She'd changed clothes and grabbed a handful of candy from her trunk ASAP.

Exploring the tower was something she definitely needed to do. She found herself at the bottom floor cafeteria more quickly than she would have thought - idly bringing a piece of licorice up to her lips to chew on, she passes through the doors.

A moment later, just after swallowing, she gags. Both hands fly up to her mouth and she makes a dash for the nearest trash can, jumping up to empty her stomach into it.]</sub>

What--?!

_{[When the vomiting subsides, she hops back down onto the floor and eyes the licorice suspiciously.]}

...bad licorice.

_{[With that, she pops a mint into her mouth. A moment later, she has to jump back up to the edge of the trash can. This is not okay. She's sure she could have some fun with it if it didn't make her stomach hurt so bad... but it does hurt. And it's not just one or two candies. She's trying it out with everything she's got, and the result's the same every time. Finally, she collapses on the ground next to the trash can, her face a little green.]}

This really stinks!

[Tohko, not meaning to make the girl cry, quickly grabbed a nearby napkin and dabbed it at her eyes.]

I'm sorry! I didn't mean to make you cry!

[Tohko then sighed.]

But yes..she died, and they never saw each other again. Sadly..while the man could have made the girl immortal, he didn't want her to feel the pain of immortality that he had.

[Tohko then nodded and gave her a small smile.]

And they did have fun when they were both together. The girl learned a lot of things and helped out quite a few people, so that is a good thing. Their meeting wasn't entirely bad.

[She wipes at her eyes as Tohko dabs at them, trying to put on a tough, brave, not-crying face.]

..is that what most meetings are like? Good but with a little bad mixed in?

[Tohko smiled. She was a little surprised that the girl wasn't asking why immortality was painful. Most kids-and people in general-wanted to live forever.]

Not all meetings are like that. Some are bittersweet like that one, but some are full of sugar without a trace of salt in them. It depends upon the meeting.

[Immortality wasn't anything strange to her, though. As long as there wasn't any reason for her game to get unplugged, Vanellope could live forever. She was well aware of that. Anyone who died - crashed - went over the side of the track and fell to their deaths - well... as long as they were still in their game, they came right back.]

I think the ones that are full of sugar are the best! Life's a lot more fun that way.

[Tohko chuckled and stopped rubbing at Vanellope's eyes. She seemed to be okay now.]

The ones that are full of sugar are nice. However, every now and then, you'll have a meeting or a parting that'll be bitter or salty. After all, if you ate nothing but sweets all your life, they wouldn't taste good. If you eat some of all of the flavors, you realize just how good they taste.

...maaaaaaybe, but that still doesn't mean I'm gonna like anything that tastes like this oatmeal, meeting or food or anything!

[But the bowl's empty now, at least!

Well, not many things in this world taste like that oatmeal. I don't think you'll have to worry about running into something like it.

[Tohko noticed that the bowl was mostly empty and hoped that would do.]

However, since you're done, there are a few nutrition bars here that you could much on. Or we could skip that and just go exploring.

[I feel quite pleased about that! Also, this kid is adorable..why do small, cute kids keep being dragged here? ;_;]

Good! Because I'm never eating anything like that ever again. Neeeever.

...I wanna go explore! What kinda stuff is there around here? Is there a racetrack?

Hopefully you won't have to..and while there isn't a racetrack here, there is a gym with a small running track. And there's a library, a music room..and penguins are living in the aquarium right now, if you want to see them.

...I wanna go see the running track!

[If the running track's the right size, maybe she can get a kart set up and practice racing there. Maybe.]

Alright then! That should be on the thirty-ninth floor. Let's go!

[Tohko got up from her seat, a grin on her face.]

Oh, and if you feel cold, let me know. I can make a cloak for you, or a cape. We'll be passing the workshop floor, so I'll be able to do that.

A cape would be cool! I could put it on and I'd be like a superhero!

[She giggles and jumps up from her seat to follow Tohko]

...hey, we don't gotta walk all the way up there, do we? That's a loooong way.

[Tohko chuckled at that. A cape on Vanellope would look pretty cute, and it might keep her warm. It wouldn't take long to make either.]

Well, there is an elevator that goes to the twenty-first floor. We can take it up to there, walk the rest of the way, and get your cape on the way back. Or get it before going to the gym. It's all up to you!

Let's get the cape now!

[And maybe when they get out of the elevator Vanellope can talk her into giving her a piggyback ride up the rest of the way...]

Alright then. That should be on the fifteenth floor. Let's go!

[Tohko started to walk off, watching to see if Vanellope was following. She didn't want her to get lost or stuck somewhere because she got behind.]

So what's the deal with all these floors? How come this place is so high up? How high does it go? Does the tower eeeeever stop?

[Tohko kept walking as she talked, careful to not let Vanellope out of her sight.]

No one knows exactly why the Administrators keep making this Tower so tall, but it does stop. Right now, it's at about fourty-eight floors, even though new floors can appear at anytime.

...can floors disappear at any time too?

I haven't heard of any of the floors vanishing before. I don't think you'll have to worry about a floor vanishing right under you.

They probably could, but I doubt they'd do it. After all, no one in the Tower has reported something like that happening..at least, not that I know of.

That's true, but there's also some stuff that we do know about. Besides, if the Administrators started removing floors, they would start to get rid of places to torment us. Less living space.

Sadly, they are..only one of them seems to be really humane, and even he probably isn't wholly trustworthy. However..we'll beat them someday. We'll all be okay.
