Characters: Nunnally vi Britannia, Lelouch vi Britannia, and anyone else who was invited to a birthday party. Alternatively, anyone who would slip into this lounge in particular.
Setting: Floor 38, backdated to the afternoon of December 5th.
Format: Tagger's choice. Free for all, make your own threads, do your own thang.
Summary: Someone has a birthday today. You should show up to spank him since Nunnally can't.
Warnings: Teenager shenanigans, will tag future stuff.

Not that it would be much of a party in the first place. This month made it difficult to acquire treats, although there may be something special for the birthday boy a little later. Nunnally's made it her goal to invite people to join that she thinks would be there, but since the lounge is public, there's no telling just who might be here. Really, it's more of a gathering of people than an actual birthday party. Minimal decorations are hung up, but in a tower that didn't really provide much for them, preparations are hard to come by. No matter any of that: anyone who wished to attend could find a small group of people mingling amongst themselves with the intent of trying to have a good time despite other incidents in the tower. In fact, a couple of them just might be completely oblivious to what's going on.

[But he glances in Nunnally's direction after he speaks, and then he looks slightly guilty.]

Are you sure you should be saying such garish things in front of your host?

[Just. Saying that.]

[And he actually hesitates at that. When he speaks, it's muttered.]

I don't intend for her to hear it.

That's the one you were having a lover's quarrel with earlier?

That's a pointless task you're leaving him, though. Even her innocence will inevitably erode to nothing in this place, if it hasn't already done so in her world.

We'll preserve it for as long as we can.

What happens after would be dealt with when the time comes.

Heh, I sure don't envy you that task.

[His tone is light and he's half-smirking, but his eyes are cold.]

It is a task that many do not wish to undertake, I'm sure.

[He noticed the cold eyes, it'd be foolish of him not to, after all. But he filed it for later, as considering their standing right now, it'd be useless to speak about it anyways.]

But that leaves me a question.

[The smirk fades.]

How well will you protect her if what you're worried about is her innocence?

[He keeps staring at Lelouch now.]

You don't really have any idea, do you? How you'll truly keep her safe and happy when it's the image of her you protect.

[There's a pointed glare from him as he said that, but fortunately he could reign his annoyance and anger in before he himself exploded.]

[A hint of anger flickers into his eyes for a second before disappearing.]

I do, but it isn't your business to inquire after such things.
