i see a new day is dawning;
Characters: Kyoko Sakura (AU) and YOU
Setting: Any floor! We're ~exploring~. Don't forget to mention the floor in the subject!
Format: Action to start, will match
Summary: Knock knock. Who's there? Its Kyoko without a punchline.
Warnings: Moody magical girl
[Its difficult to miss the mass of red hair stalking down the hallways or around whatever floor you happen to be on. The spoon she had used to eat her oatmeal is still sitting in her mouth and, judging by her expression, it had taken her a few tries to figure out that...well yes, she had to eat the oatmeal. She's bundled up in a hooded sweatshirt and, strangely enough, a pair of denim shorts with a pair of knee-high brown boots. No way in hell was she going to be rocking that jumpsuit for more than three seconds.
Kyoko's hands remained stuffed in her pockets, balled into fists, so there's no way to tell if she has a weapon or if she's just annoyed. The actual answer is both, though her weapon isnt what's in her pocket. She's not going to whip that one out if she doesn't have to -- not right away. After all, there was no head nor hair of a witch in the area, so what was the point?
She seems to pick up on any little noise, turning to glance in its direction curiously -- not because she's paranoid, but because she's not sure where she is. The note explained enough, but it still didn't really make any sense to her. Rather than sit around trying to figure it out, exploring had obviously been the better option.
Just don't accidentally bump into her. That might cause a problem.]

[Kyoko is forced to pause after that statement and consider. After all, she was already talking to someone who was supposed to be dead and that was weird enough. Was everything in that letter so farfetched in comparison?
Judging by the calm furrow in her brow, she's reevaluating her position. Not that she'll come out and say that or anything.
That brought a much greater perspective. That meant Mami was actually alive, standing in front of her, not just a mirage born from delirium, which she had come to expect. Its enough for her to reach up and pull the spoon out of her mouth, closing the remaining distance between them, with enough room that she can respond accordingly if "Mami" decides to surprise her.]

[ There was a slight silent pause. There was no doubt about it, Mami really did die by that witch. She barely escaped death when she was taken away from her world but that didn't mean she would escape it when she went back.
Both Kyokos confirmed her fate. ]
Seems like my fate is sealed. I guess I should have seen it coming.
[ So why was it starting to bother her? ]

The other Kyoko that Tohko had told her about.
Her lip curls briefly in thought, hands coming to her hips in what should have been a more relaxed posture -- but something was off about it. In truth, the young magical girl had quite the issue relaxing in general these days. But this wasn't a witch or someone she had never met. This was Mami. And while they may not have had the greatest relationship, it was hard to consider her a straight-up enemy on unfamiliar territory. Even she wasn't proud enough for that.]
Yeah well. You knew what you signed up for.
[A pause. She had to make sure.]
Someone told you?

[ There were only a few things Mami regretted in life and that was losing her first friend and dragging Madoka and Sayaka in the witch's lair. She wondered if they contracted and defeated the witch or if they suffered as well. It was hard to determine, really. She opens her mouth to speak, but closes it and thinks for a few more minutes. ]
Like I said, it was expected. [ The other Kyoko didn't tell her straight out, but it was determined by her words. She implied that Sayaka took over her territory and that would really only happen if she was dead, unless there was another magical girl roaming around. But, she was practically in the witch's mouth when she was taken here. The was no way she could escape that. ] but I guess you could say I was informed.
I wonder if this is a blessing. Being alive again, getting another chance.

[Kyoko can't help but feel a little awkward. Part of her is glad to see Mami alive and well, while the other part of her wonders if it wouldn't be better if she had stayed dead. This place didn't seem all that welcoming -- maybe the perfect place for girls like them, with the impression she was getting, but that wasn't really the point.
However, from her perspective, she hadn't seen Mami in months due to said death. Her or Sayaka. A friendly face...maybe it wasn't so bad.
She offers a half-hearted smirk.]
But yeah, now you get another chance in an icebox crammed with a buncha strangers -- sounds like a great time to me.

[ There's some bitterness in her tone. No, she wouldn't understand at all. Kyoko's never died before. That was Mami's wish. To live. It was selfish but she had no regrets. So having another chance to make friends, even being trapped here, was something she was willing to take. ]
Besides, making a few friends might lighten the situation up a bit.

Its written all over her face, but she's not going to come out and say it, that would be way too forward of her. Mami can think as she pleases -- sure, she hadn't died, but she had long ago come to terms with the wish she had made.
Only magical girls understood other magical girls. Making a wish because you wanted to was stupid. Only girls with no other option should have been making contracts, and even then--
Well, best not think about that. Kyoko's hands get shoved into her pockets wordlessly.]
Tch.
