☆ 002 : WARM-UP ☆ "All of us contain Music & Truth, but most of us can't get it out."
Characters: Rise Kujikawa and YOU!
Setting: Floor Twenty-Eight, the Music Room, or prettymuch anywhere else you want.
Format: Prose and Action both A-OK; you pick and I'll follow your lead!
Summary: Rise does her best to get in a little vocal practise for the (possible) upcoming Gas Chamber, Tower Edition show. Make a song request, pick up an instrument and join in, just listen...that part's all up to you. :]
Warnings: Event-related things, perhaps...or maybe she just has the regular flu. :3 Otherwise nothing.
Rise stood behind the electronic keyboard, shoulders relaxed, arms by her sides. Breathing in slowly, she hummed a low note (try to find the note where you feel maximum vibration in your lower abdomen) as she exhaled, one hand pressed to her midriff. After repeating that a few times, she shivered and huffed out a sigh instead, breaking the rhythm. But well, at least it was easy to make sure she was doing her breathing exercises right, since thanks to the cold, she could see every breath that left her mouth.
The cold did make it pretty hard to play the piano well, though--not that she was AMAZING at it even under normal conditions, but she was far from terrible, on the upper side of average at the very least. A singer who couldn't read music at all or play an instrument at least a little would be an embarrassment to her agency, and Rise was a quick study anyways.
After rubbing some circulation back into her fingers, she got to work on playing--and singing--some scales.
(It's nothing too interesting at first, but if you wait for a while, she might start practising an actual song or two...or maybe not. She might just start coughing instead...)

"You do be doing well. Be remembering to keep your knees bent." She smiled at her, "Do a few more and I will be showing you how to be blocking."
lol Closest thing I have to a BOXING STANCE icon for Rise X'D
She threw a few more punches that still felt pretty awkward, and not at all powerful enough to cause any real damage, but she kept going, determined not to stop until Nesir told her to.
more than I have for Nesir sob
Her icons are still really nice, though!
"...Uh...okay, if you say so. You're the boss..."
It was a decidedly half-hearted blow, especially since Rise wasn't sure where exactly to aim the punch (but finally deciding on Nesir's right shoulder), but she was still trying.
I like them, it took me ages to find a PB sob
Well not all of them became warriors but for those that did... Nesir was glad she had not been brought up in such a confusing way, when she had been told to punch she had done so.
Nesir took a half step back and caught Rise's hand in hers. "Okay lets be pretending we do be in the tower late at night and I do be attacking you. I do no be Nesir I do be some horrid person who do be wanting to harm you." She pointed to her face. "Be punching me."
Ooh, yeah...that's gotta be one of the hardest things about OCs...
"But...I like Nesir-chan! I don't want to hurt you, even if I'm not very strong and it wouldn't be too bad..."
Rise wouldn't've had any problem punching some people in the face (Adachi and Kubo came to mind), but for someone she considered a friend...
...But...Nesir was strong enough that she could handle it, and Rise knew that she had to to what the other girl said if she wanted to learn. Which she did, really! Hitting someone in the face wasn't that bad (hadn't Yu-senpai and Yosuke-senpai done that to each other? And they were best friends!) Plus Nesir had said something about teaching how to block, so...
Rise huffed out a deep breath, then set herself determinedly, bringing up her fists and readying herself. "...But okay! Here I come!"
This time, she aimed for Nesir's right cheek, and she didn't hold back. It still wasn't a very strong blow, but she'd clearly done her best.
Yup and also book characters
Especially if they were her friends from what Nesir had learned of the way this tower worked. There was no way to guarantee her closest friends wouldn't try to kill her at some point.
She also was surprised that Rise liked her, that was still very rare for Nesir, she glanced at the shoes Rise had given her thoughtfully.
Then looked up again, ready. When Rise's fist came towards her face she stepped out of the way and brought her arm up, knuckles snapping at Rise's wrist. It probably stung a little but just hit her arm slightly off course.

fangirling...cheerleading?admiring that move. Simple as it was, it had been fast and super effective, and she couldn't resist saying as much."Wow! That was pretty cool! Can you do that again? I'll watch more closely this time!"

But she had to admit the enthusiasm was nice and quite sweet - though Nesir would deny using that word to describe anyone - Nesir was used to training being stern faces and strict discipline.
"Alright be watching carefully, you do be stepping out the way. That do be the most important part..." She demonstrated the move again on thin air so Rise could watch, stepping to the side and using her body to transfer her weight, flicking her wrist out to hit an imaginary arm.

"...Step out of the way, right! Got it!"
She tried it a few more times, then switched sides, trying the same movement with her other hand and moving the other way, her expression concentrated and thoughtful. Once it felt just a little more natural, she looked back to Nesir with an eager smile, waiting for her next instructions.

After a little bit more practice she paused, "So now we do be learning to be kicking."
She went back into the stance she had started in, this time shifting her weight onto her back leg, bringing her front leg up off the ground and into her body before kicking forwards. A short snap kick and her foot was back on the ground, her balance equal again.
