Stairs and exploring and capes, oh my!

Characters: Vanellope & Tohko, and Vanellope & you on other floors!
Setting: Floor 15, Floor 08 and Floor 21
Format: Any! I'll follow what you do~
Summary: Following Tohko's success at making Vanellope eat her oatmeal, she offers to make her a cape and the two of them go exploring. After that, Vanellope takes off on her own and is, well, herself.
Warnings: Wreck-It Ralph spoilers by virtue of Vanellope being herself, general childishness that may grate on one's nerves

Floor 15 - Vanellope and Tohko.
[Vanellope had been chattering Tohko's ear off the whole way there - every floor they passed through prompted more and more questions - What's that? and Can I go over there? and How long has this been here? and so on. When they're just one floor away, she grins impishly and darts on ahead of her.]

Race you to the workshop!

Floor 08.
[Vanellope's explorations have landed her smack-dab into a maze, and not realizing that the safest way through is to keep one hand on the wall, she's already taken a few turns. She's starting to feel a little turned-around and mixed-up, but she figures with enough time she should be able to figure this one out.]

Okay, so I just took a left, which means now I want to take a right...

Floor 21.
[She has quite literally had enough of stairs. The spiral staircase makes her dizzy and her feet are starting to hurt - she's used to driving, not walking. She'd made it down to the first floor from the maze and had immediately taken the elevator up - whatever, she'll just explore one of those floors. When she steps out of it on the twenty-first floor, her eyes light up.

The mouthwatering smells of food that is not oatmeal or nutrition bars wafts towards her, and a small little smile works its way onto her face. Now this is more like it.

She wanders into the restaurant.

Moments later, she makes her way back to the elevator and plops down, pouting.]

What is this, some kind of fetch quest?!

[Why yes, that's exactly what it is, Vanellope.]

[Tohko chuckled. She was obviously lying, but carrying her wouldn't be too hard. However, that didn't mean that she wasn't going to comment on it.]

You're tired already? It's good that we're visiting the gym then. Maybe running around will strengthen your legs!

[Tohko then picked up the girl and started to carry her, bridal style. It was the easiest way.]

[ooc: I'm so sorry about this late tag..I had to go help cook Christmas cookies..><;]

Maaaybe it will.

[She giggles as Tohko picks her up and snuggles into her cloak. Sigh, this kid likes being carried almost as much as she likes driving.

Hopefully it will!

[Thankfully, Vanellope wasn't that heavy, and she didn't mind it when she snuggled into her cloak. Even though she had a cape, Vanellope must have been a little cold.

Eventually, they reached the inside of the gym, and Tohko put Vanellope down.]

Alright then! We're here!

[She looks over the gym with an appraising eye. The workout machines and weights don't really interest her, but the track -- well! She darts off to the edge of it, her cape trailing behind her, and kneels down to touch the ground.

Not a bad material...

Then she hops back up to her feet and spreads her arms out to measure about how big a kart would be. It could probably fit, maybe. A child-sized go-kart was not very big.

One for Tohko though... that one would have to be a little bigger]

Come here come here come here! I need to check something!

[Tohko chuckled and started to run over.]

Alright, I'm coming!

[Tohko stopped when she got next to Vanellope. Hopefully the track was big enough for her.]

What do you need to check?

Sit down like you would if you were driving! I need to see what size your kart's gonna hafta be!

[tohko_amano]

Alright then. Let's see..

[Tohko tried to sit in the air, and while she wibbled and wobbled occasionally, she managed to keep her balance and not fall over. Well..for the moment, anyway.]

[Vanellope backed off for a bit to make sure she had enough room, then skipped around Tohko as she balanced, carefully measuring it out with her arms]

Okayyy... I think I got it! Your kart's gonna have to be bigger than mine but it's probably doable!

[tohko_amano]

[Tohko stood up straight with a sigh, happy that was over. Her balancing skills were never all that great.]

Alright then! I'm glad to hear it! Now, how do we make these carts?

[glitchinprincess]

Weeeeell, back home, we go to the kart bakery...

Is there something like that here? Or are we gonna have to make molds in the workshop and take them back down to the cafeteria?

[Tohko looked at Vanellope for a moment, puzzled.]

Kart bakery? Molds? Don't you make carts out of wood?

[glitchinprincess]

Uuuuh, no? No one I know has ever driven something made of wood before.

[Even the trees where she's from are made of candy...]

[tohko_amano]

[Tohko sighed and scratched her head.]

Then we're going to have a small problem. I don't think you can make carts out of candy or food here-just ones made out of metal or wood. That's what they were made out of back in my world.

Whaaaat?

But how would they even run?

[tohko_amano]

[Tohko grinned as she replied.]

Footpower. With our carts back home, there were small pedals you would press or have your feet move on to get them to move.

I made one that had pedals once!

But then I got a real kart from the bakery, and it had an engine.

[tohko_amano]

Well, that's pretty cool! However, if you can still remember how to make the cart that had the pedals, I think that would help us a lot more.

I made that one out of parts from the kart bakery that weren't good enough and ended up in the dump... but I can remember the shapes, so maybe we can bake them!

[tohko_amano]

Or hammer them out of wood or something..unless you want carts made out of nutrition bars. I'm not even sure molds for carts exist here, to be honest.

...but would a wood kart even work?

[She's skeptical. Though to be fair, she's never seen a wooden kart before.]

Well, they worked back home, so they should work here too. I have a friend who's really good at metalworking, if we need to do that. She'll help us out, if we need her help.

[glitchinprincess]

...okay, I guess.

[She's going to have to take Tohko's word for it, as skeptical as she is about this. A strange wood or metal kart is better than no kart at all.]

[Tohko smiled and patted Vanellope on the head.]

However, there could be some molds in the workshop. If you want, we can go back and look.

You think maybe we could make a mold if there isn't one?

Well, since there's metal in the workshop, I don't see why not..
