Silent dormitory rooms are lined with bodies--not dead, just sleeping. Throughout the tower it is pitch black and silent. At the base of the tower, countless shining eyes, watching.

23:45:00
The tower hums to life. Lights blink on in one by one; only the dormitory rooms remain dark. A small army of blank-faced humanoids appear and spend the next ten minutes taking various positions around the tower.

An order given. The dormitory room lights blink on.

"I doubt you've met someone similar, but that is easiest. It's nice to meet you--oh I'm sorry, I never asked your name."

Nice job, detective, you didn't introduce yourself! AGAIN.

A slight nod to the lady, along with a small tug to the brim of his hat, and he replies - "Shoutarou Hidari, private detective."

Canada covered her smile with her hand. She'd never met a detective before and certainly not one who seemed...quite as into the role as this one was. She nodded back, remembering to introduce herself this time at least.

"You may call me Madeline Williams--though...I will probably be referred to as Canada by my friends."

There was no way around it really.

"Ca-nah-da...?" Shoutarou repeated, slowly. He thinks for a moment, then lets it pass. "A pleasure to meet you, Miss Williams, though I wish it were under better circumstances," he says, looking out the window.

She isn't even surprised that her name doesn't ring a bell. She is hardly on speaking terms with Japan, why would her citizens know of Canada? She nods noncommittally and glances at the window. More fogs or clouds. Stunning.

"This is some of the worst terms I've met people in. Also the most confusing."

Shoutarou nods, crossing his arms. "Yes, it is. However, I do plan to do what I can to sort this out." His expression is rather serious.

Oh gosh he was so serious and she had to keep her pleasant smile plastered up to keep from giggling or shaking her head. He was quite intense really.

"I'll keep you updated should there be any new information."

Intensity is an integral part of being hard-boiled!

Shoutarou nods to her. "Thank you. I'm in room 1-04."
