Silent dormitory rooms are lined with bodies--not dead, just sleeping. Throughout the tower it is pitch black and silent. At the base of the tower, countless shining eyes, watching.

The tower hums to life. Lights blink on in one by one; only the dormitory rooms remain dark. A small army of blank-faced humanoids appear and spend the next ten minutes taking various positions around the tower.

An order given. The dormitory room lights blink on.

"I'm afraid not," Lithuania said, after a moment's pause. "I haven't met many people here, though, so they could be around somewhere."

And Latvia and Poland might be, too. Hopefully. Maybe. Please.

"Oh, I hope so. And Ganta-kun and Shiro-chan too," she adds, partly to herself. If he doesn't know them, he doesn't know them.

"You can call me Chaplin Sukegawa," she informs him. "And you are?"

"If I meet anyone by those names, I'll tell them you're here," Lithuania offered. "I'm Lithuania. It's nice to meet you--well, the circumstances could be far better."

"That's so sweet of you~!" What a nice guy. She could go on to tease him a little, but... well, even she had her limits. She'd wait until they were a bit more settled in, or until they'd found a way out. Whichever is first.

"You and your friends have rather peculiar names, don't you."

"Huh--Oh!" Well, it wasn't as if everyone had heard of the personified countries. Anyway, when he woke up a man flew out of his room. "That's because we are--Poland, Latvia, and Lithuania. The places. Well, personifications of them?"

Chaplin raised an eyebrow and stared. Cute, but not all there, it seemed. "Uh-huh. That's interesting."

Lithuania knew that look. "...You think I'm crazy, don't you?"

"A little. But that's all right~," she added with a smile, "everyone is a little crazy where I'm from! Don't worry, I'll call you Lithuania if you'd like."

"I'm really not..." Lithuania looks rather put-out, not in an angry way, just in a 'this is going to all be really difficult' way. "If you prefer, you can call me Toris Laurinaitis. You'll find others here who will call themselves countries as well, because--we really are."

"Toris? That's such a cute name," she replies. "I'll call you whichever you like! Oh, and your friends, too. It's really not a bother."

A childhood game that carried on for too long? Who knows? She's not one to judge.

"Whichever you prefer is fine," Lithuania said, deciding it wasn't really worth pressing the matter at the moment. "They do at least go by those names, though, so they should be easily enough noticed."

"All right, then!" No problems there.

"I'm so sorry to run, but I'm still searching for my friends. If that's all right?"

"It's alright, I'm still doing the same as well," he said, smiling. "I'm sure we'll meet again, this place isn't particularly large."
