[SO ANIMUS, how about those stairs? They're pretty painful to fall down sometimes, aren't they? Especially when a bunch of people (and trolls) get caught up in it.]

There was something that happened, and, um, I was paralyzed for awhile. Kanaya cut my legs off so that Equius could give me these.

Not really. It probably would have been worse if I were, um, awake. But I wasn't.

[She kind of wants to ask why his legs had problems in the first place, but for once she realizes early that that's probably a bad idea; she's used the 'some things happened' line before, and she knows why she did, so she can guess at why he might have used a variation thereof.]

Yeah, I guess I think so too, since they didn't have to do that. [And to think, this is one of the least horrifying things in troll society.]

Yeah. I think they're my friends.

[Sure, Equius isn't the nicest because he's a brownblood, but... he still gave him robolegs!]

Kanaya is nice, and she's helped me with a lot of things. Equius isn't, um, as nice as Kanaya, but he can be okay.

Uh... it's mostly how he acts, I guess, because he acts sort of strict.

Strict? [That's... certainly not a way she's heard someone describe their friend before.]
