A'huntin we will go~
Characters: Luke fon Fabre and YOU
Setting: Floor Six (until he realizes how dangerous it is), and then Floor Thirty-Two.
Format: You decide.
Summary: Luke needs warmer clothes and something other than nutrition bars to eat. Naturally, this leads to so much fail.
Warnings: Luke. Failing. AT EVERYTHING.
[There was a soft rustle from the underbrush on floor six, and if you looked closely, you might see a head of red hair snooping around. He's being surprisingly quiet for one so loud, and if you stick around long enough, you'll get to see why.]
[There's a few deer lurking around, minding their own business, and Luke is heading straight for them. He keeps himself quiet, waiting... and then he leaps from his hiding place, sword brandished and eyes squeezed shut as he aims to behead one of the deer...!]
[...but the deer are having none of that. One with a medium size rack of antlers snapped its head toward Luke, baring its teeth and letting out a dangerous, not-very-deer-like growl. He somehow fumbled in mid-air, landing on his butt as the other deer turned on him, letting out similar noises. A startled, "Meep!" escaped from him as he scooted back on his behind, before finally flailing up to his feet.]
[This was the second batch that did that! This was so not a nice forest!]
[Later on, on floor thirty-six, you'll get to see him doing much of the same... with the same amount of success. Clearly, Luke fails at this whole "hunting" thing, and needs a mentor (or someone to mock him).]

I haven't either... I... think I'd want to travel with Yu-sensei... but, at the same time...
[He trailed off, looking down at the floor.]
no subject
Assuming it was even possible...]
Travel between worlds?
[It'd be interesting, at least. There's the sound of water running as Asch washes to worst of the blood off his gloves.]

[The water turns off. Asch starts looking through the cupboards for a pan or some kind of skewers or something to cook the meat on.
And yes, Luke, he'll share, seeing as you'd probably burn it anyway.]
no subject
Could you save some? I want to give some to sensei and a few others, even if it isn't that much.
no subject
[Oh, some skewers, that'll do. He brings them back over to the work table and picks out a few pieces of the meat to slice smaller.
Don't worry, Luke, there's plenty left. He's only cooking for two at this point.]
no subject
[He gave a small sheepish shrug at that.]
no subject
[He didn't want all of it, anyway; he doesn't have anywhere to put this much meat.
He starts slicing the meat into smaller chunks and sticking it on the skewers. Too bad there don't seem to be any kind of spices in the kitchen right now...]
no subject
...hey, Asch?
no subject
What?
[Yes it sure as hell is. Dangerous, but did he really expect anything else from the Tower. It'll do for his purposes.
Now how to work these dials ah fuck it he's lighting it with fonons.]
no subject
[He paused, looking embarrassed.]
...I-I mean, I'm glad you're all here.
no subject
And he really doesn't know what to say to that, either, so instead he busies himself propping skewers up over the flames.
Finally - ]
I'm sorry you were alone so long.

[It's that too-fast, pointed sort of nothing that says that he definitely said something. Asch makes a point of not looking over his shoulder and instead turns the skewers a bit so that the meat cooks evenly.]
no subject
[Yeah, that was the sound of Luke not believing you for a second, Asch. But he's not pushing it, instead just kicking back and cuddling up under the coats.]
no subject
As it is, a few minutes later he comes over bearing a plate with a trio of them and sets it on the table for Luke.]
Just eat.
no subject
[Luke has no issue with digging in. He doesn't care if it's not seasoned, doesn't even care when he burns his mouth on it. It's food that didn't come in a wrapper and wasn't cooked by Natalia. He was good with this!]
no subject
Speaking of, he's going to go turn that other batch of skewers over now, munching on one of the two he'd set aside for himself while he waits. Not bad at all; the meat definitely doesn't get any fresher than this, at least.]
no subject
Asch...? Sometimes, I think being here... I feel like I'm drifting away from Auldrant...
[...he'd never told anyone that before. Not even Yu-sensei, and he immediately regretted it. He shook his head quickly.]
A-ah... forget it. I probably sound stupid.
no subject
It's not that surprising. It's not as though you can go back, so it's natural to adjust to where you are.
[It's experience talking, even if the transfer between the manor and Daath was much less severe. The manor had still existed, even if he couldn't go back.
Asch brings the plate over and finally takes a seat on the other side of the small table.]
no subject
...it doesn't feel right, though. I want to feel like Auldrant's really there; that we're just missing something.
no subject
Maybe it is, maybe it isn't.
[He sighs slightly, biting a chunk off a skewer and nudging the plate towards Luke before speaking again.]
But that doesn't mean we have any way of returning to it, so in the end, that doesn't really matter.
no subject
[Luke drifted off into silence after a moment, biting off a piece and swallowing.]
...I just... don't want to forget it. Forget who I am, where I'm from. The fact that the admins could make you do that if they really want to... that's terrifying to me.
no subject
[It's not quite a promise, but it's close enough.]
no subject
...thanks, Asch.
