Better to be hated... [open]
Characters: Erik Lehnsherr and YOU
Setting: Anywhere in the tower you like.
Format: Action or Prose, I'm easy.
Summary: A wandering mutant trying to sort out what's happened.
Warnings: Who knows, really. Erik's had a rough week, and showing up here and finding out his entire world's been destroyed? Is gonna put him in a bad mood.
Erik had read the note. Earth had been destroyed, and he was the lone survivor. Well, one of the lone survivors. There were other people here, clearly, but not any of the faces he wanted to see. Mystique, Azazel, Riptide, Angel, Emma.
While he didn't believe what was written in any way shape or form, the fact that his brothers and sisters were no where to be seen was troublesome. Someone, somehow, had been able to transport him here without his knowledge, under cover of darkness. It would take a powerful mutant or entity to pull that off without him even realizing it was occurring.
Whatever this place was, Erik didn't intend on staying. He had been a lab rat once before--never again.
So he wandered the corridors, the hallways, looking for information.

Minato pulls his Evoker out of the holster hidden under his coat. It looks like a pistol, but it isn't one; it's modified, and holds no ammunition. He pauses, holding it in his hand. ]
... I could, and I don't mind, if you can promise you won't panic.
[ He's had that happen before, and it wasn't fun. ]

[Really--Erik's seen enough that things rarely phase him.]
wow I am sorry for the slowness of my tags aashdf;
... And he waits to see what Erik will think, perhaps because he is curious to see what an outside perspective on the matter would view it as. ]
no worries, I'm slow too obv!
...shooting yourself in the head isn't the way I'd like to use an ability.
[A smirk hits his face, though, eyebrows raising.]
But impressive, none the less.

... What a Persona is capable of is dependent on its wielder. Of course, the danger differs if it's unnatural... and they're generally more impressive in battle. Samael is more geared toward elemental magic and combat support, for example.
[ He was a tactical person, after all. Thanatos was his more dangerous Persona, but Samael was what he depended on for missions and supporting his team if something happened to Chidori. ]

[He's not sorry about asking questions--but at least he isn't like Charles, who turns these sorts of things into eager interrogations.]

... If you're lucky enough to be born with what's referred to as the "potential"... then yes--in which case, they're merely tiring. But if your Persona is artificial in any way, it's difficult to control without... certain aids.
[ Drugs. Suppressors. Persona inhibitors. Whatever one wanted to call them. Stop taking them and your Persona would kill you, in his case. Keep taking them and your lifespan is shorted more and more as your body slowly deteriorates. ]

How do people even gain an artificial Persona?
[It's a disturbing thought, to say the least. That humans could somehow gain possession of powers that they have no right to.]

[ He wasn't the biggest fan of it; none of his group were, considering they were the only ones left. ]
There were... a few who managed to make it out alive. The rest either died or turned into monsters.
[ It's a good thing he's had a lot of time, otherwise the bitterness might be seeping into his voice entirely. ]

[Erik's jawline twitches.]
--abhorrent. The corporation should be razed to the ground.

... It was a matter of resources we didn't have to fight them with at the time. Resources we still lack, and one of them has always been time.
[ The Tower wasn't any better. He couldn't help but feel the value placed on their lives was even LESS than back then, somehow. ]
no subject
[Erik gave him a firm nod. There is conviction there; if he could help, he would.]
Something I intend to do here, as well.
no subject
[ If nothing else, he believed in persistence. He didn't feel the need to bring up SEES being the bigger problem at the moment. ]
... There needs to be more people who will fight here. There is only so much we can do if we're alone or disorganized, after all. It won't be easy, since they can disable our abilities.
no subject
[But he trails off, pinpointing what else he said.]
They have removed people's abilities?
[That's the most alarming thing he's heard.]
no subject
To answer your question, it doesn't appear to be removal so much as disabling. I can still summon my Persona, but I can't use it at times, and it's ineffectual on certain places and creatures. So it's easy to die if you're not prepared to fight normally or run. Which is why I think we need to stay together--at the very least, we need a plan.
And we need to not fight each other. Signless-san said the same thing; he's attempting to get us all to cooperate, which I agree with. He's one of the adult trolls, he has red eyes, yellow horns, gray skin. I'd talk to him, if you can. He'd be pleased to have more help, I think.
