3rd Mission

Setting: Dorm hallways at night
Format: Both are fine. I'll follow.
Summary: Rolo has the normal type of flu but with it comes a nasty cough. His cough is getting so bad that it's interfering with the use of his Geass... too bad those monsters are closing in on him... Some help please?
Warnings: None yet.

Rolo is bundled up warmly in animal skins he's hunted and prepared himself but that doesn't seem to have stopped him from getting the flu. He doesn't mind the flu so much except that he's been afflicted with a bad cough and the medicine he's been taking doesn't seem to be helping much.

He's just on his way to his room rather late at night when he hears monsters approaching. This doesn't scare him and he simply takes out his knife and gets ready to activate his Geass, however, that's when he suddenly gets caught in a nasty bout of coughing. He can't quite keep his Geass up as he doubles over coughing. The monsters get nearer. He tries to control his coughing but to no avail... Help?

Kariya's on his way back to his own room. He doesn't sleep much; his condition keeps him awake, as the parasites he carries don't let him rest. When he hears coughing, he hurries closer, limping, but quickly. He sees Rolo doubled over and the monsters approaching, and it doesn't take him long to decide what to do.

He may be weak, but he isn't defenseless. He spits up a mouthful of worms and blood, and once outside of his body, the worms don't take long to change, becoming large, buzzing insects with bladelike wings. Kariya grits his teeth, because it hurts to control them, but the insects swoop in to strike the attackers, fast and dangerous, cutting through the monsters' flesh with ease and avoiding their strikes.

Kariya sinks to his knees, all his focus on the attack.

Help comes in form of a sudden light beam that crushes down at the monsters from the ceiling; then yet another that blasts upwards from the ground - it's not enough to kill, but certainly enough to stun them, at least for the moment.

Jellal steps forward then, throwing careful glances towards them as he does, a glowing ball of light magic hovering over his palm, ready to be released the moment any of the monsters makes yet another move (but otherwise serving quite nicely to light his surroundings), making his way towards the coughing boy.

"Are you all right?"

Apart of the obvious of course.

chaos is not one to leave people to the mercy of monsters, so when he woke up after having a horrid dream of The Messiah being killed again and walked out to relax, and saw Rolo being chased by monsters, he couldn't stand by. The boy was obviously sick, and needed help. Quickly, using his powers, he grew two wings and flew up in the air before sending a rain of energy beams at the monsters.

Whether this would kill them all or not was another matter.

Suzaku rounds the corner going back to his room, he has gotten ill as well but is mostly ignoring it, except when he can't. He saw Rolo doubled over and the monsters and sprang into action, his muscles hurt from the illness but he ignored it and concentrated on the fight, kicking at the monsters, trying to drive them off.

Rolo's cough subsides for a moment and he just watches with wide eyes at the worms coming out of this stranger's body, only to change form into some sort of attack insects that the stranger appears to have control over...

When the monsters are all dispatched. Rolo steps a little closer to the person who just saved him. "Are you... alright?" Though the more important question in his mind is 'Why did you save me?'

Rolo is still coughing quite a bit as he makes his way behind his saviour for now. "Not..." Cough, cough. "...injured"

The beams don't manage to kill all of the monsters but it's enough to scare the others off for now. Rolo looks over at him, rather surprised at seeing him in the air. "... chaos? What... was that you just did? Why do you have wings?"

Rolo can't really believe that he's seeing this. Why are you protecting him, Suzaku? He pushes himself up, his cough subsiding for a moment, long enough for him to do what he's intended in the first place.

Time stops. Monsters are slashed to bits. Then time flows again and he's leaning against the wall, coughing again.

The moment the monsters had either died or fled, chaos touched to the ground, and his wings vanished. Quietly, he whispered a small prayer for them before turning to Rolo.

"I attacked the monsters and saved you. Are you alright?"

chaos was a master at dodging questions.

Kariya is coughing himself, blood at the corners of his mouth. There, he's done it again. He's defeated more monsters. He feels a sense of pride at not being useless, at being able to protect someone, even if the cost is high. Like he protected Rin, before.

He nods, though he doesn't seem all right, the "veins" in his face pulsing as the worms beneath his skin move. It's always worse after he uses his magecraft.

"I'm fine," he lies. "How are you? They didn't hurt you, did they?"

"They... didn't..." He can't stop staring at those 'veins'. "Those worms... they live inside you? How... Doesn't it hurt?"

[tempus_scorpius]

"You didn't have to save me... I..." This makes him feel rather conflicted. Now he feels like he owes choas something. Yet somehow he wonders if this means they are 'friends'. 'Friends' help each other, don't they?

Because he's decided he likes you Rolo. One moment he is fighting, the next the monsters are dead and he is spinkicking thin air. "Are you alright?"

As in the genuine kind of like and not nii-san's type of like?

He waits till his cough subsides again, then waits a moment to catch his breath. "I'm fine now. You didn't have to do that though..."

"Good." He pants, still recovering. "Good, I'm glad." He manages a weak smile before answering Rolo's question. "Yes, they do. And yes, it does. But– I'll be all right."

[tempus_scorpius]

"Glad... why?" You don't even know him. He just cannot understand why anyone would save a stranger. "... but you don't look alright..."

"Because." He doesn't understand why he wouldn't help someone being attacked by monsters. It's the right thing to do. "I couldn't let that happen. That's all."

The flying Blade-wing worms come buzzing back to him. He isn't quite sure what to do with them, but maybe they'll return to their previous forms. He's a magus who doesn't fit his power. It's not the power he was born with. It was grafted, forced onto him.

He takes more deep breaths, recovering himself. "I'll be fine. I'm used to this."

"That is true. I did not have to save you, but I wanted to. I enjoy helping people, and we are friends, are we not?"

And chaos was happy that he managed to get Rolo to stop questioning his powers. However, he didn't like the fact that Rolo seemed rather unsure about this. He put a hand on the boy's shoulder, to both heat him up and calm him down.

The genuine type. And the fact it angers Lelouch is just a bonus really. "Are you alright?" He ignored Rolo'sworrds. He wasn't about to leave him to be injured.

A thin smile makes it's way on Jellal's face.

"That's a start, I guess."

As for the monsters... as much as Jellal would rather like to leave them be, he has already noted that reason or mercy are wasted on them. Still holding onto his light sphere with one hand, he turns back to the monsters and waves with his free hand, conjuring several arrow-shaped blasts, releasing them a second later.

That ought to do it, he hopes.

"Why couldn't you let it happen? You don't even know me?.

A power forced onto him. Rolo would be able to identify with that.

"Have you always had... these worms inside you?"

That is enough for now. Most of the monsters are killed by the light arrows and the rest quickly flee.

Rolo sits on the ground for now as he catches his breath from all that coughing.

[tempus_scorpius]

"Enjoy helping people...? Enjoy?" This is certainly an alien concept to Rolo. He looks up, lost yet a little hopeful. "... we are friends?"

Genuine...

He nodded then he looked to one side, rather troubled. "Why did you save me...?"

chaos nodded. "Yes. I enjoy helping people. And I think we are, unless you do not want to be."
