Anyone near the kitchen would probably smell a delicious blend of spices, that made up Shion's special sweet curry. Earlier in the day, she had been surprised to find the basket of ingredients in her room (as well as something disturbing from home), and she wasted little time getting to the kitchen to prepare her specialty.

They didn't give her a while lot, but she's definitely be willing to share a portion or two with anyone tired of nutrition bars.

In the Library...

Shion stepped off the stairs quietly and surveyed the room.

"Allen? Jin?"

She had something small concealed in her hand, and she looked a little worried. She really hoped at least one of them would be there.

[Jade's in the kitchen after having had the necessary oatmeal and certainly looks like he didn't really enjoy the experience.

Smelling curry, Jade is almost immediately interested. Curry? Here? It's like the Tower was apologizing for that half-homogenized mess of a meal.

It doesn't take him long to find the source and there's a curious necromancer approaching.]

I wasn't aware we were able to cook in the kitchens.

[She was just checking the rice, when she turned to see Jade.]

Oh, yes. I suppose there hasn't been much cooking lately, since there hasn't been any food. But I just received these ingredients today. As an apology from the administrators, I guess.

How odd.

[Curry.]

Are you cooking curry with them?

[He can play innocently curious/manipulative to get what he wants.]

[uzuki]

Yes.

[She looked thoughtfully down at the simmering pan, then to Jade.]

Would you like some? I guess I'm used to cooking for a ship full of people, so I made all of it.

[bootsweremadeforcasting]

[Jade seems moderately pleased, donning an appropriately amused smirk.]

It's likely better than the oatmeal I just had.

I hope so. It's my own special blend!

[And she set about finding a dish, and doling out a large portion of rice and curry. She presented it to him with a little bow.]

[Jade received it and give it a curious once-over before he sat down and tried it. It was a bit sweeter than he was used to, but the ingredients were good and the flavor was great. It was almost like a dessert curry.

Don't mind him as he eats over here.]

[Don't mind the cook joining! Because that's the curry fee. You get pestered by Shion while you eat.

She took a bite from her own dish, and considered it a moment while chewing.]

I'm surprised they were able to give me such fresh ingredients, really. Considering what they've normally given us to eat.

Oh, what was your name, by the way? I'm Shion.

Holiday spirit doesn't seem to quite cover it.

[At the question, Jade extended a hand to her politely.]

Jade. A pleasure to meet you, Miss Shion.

[She gave another little polite bow of her head.]

Have you been here long? In the tower, I mean.

*Don't mind him just sort of appearing in front of you, Shion. He's in normal clothing right now, at least.*

[She smiled, presenting a bowl of curry wrapped in a dish towel toward him.]

Sort of... But I brought you some curry. I wasn't sure, but considering how things were back home, I thought maybe I'd never gotten a chance to make it for you.

[Jade finishes another mouthful of curry.]

Fortunately not. Only within the last few weeks.

Well, that's good at least. That's around how long I've been here.

[Not that she was minding being in the tower much these days, since all of her dead/lost friends were popping up. But...]

*There's a slight twinge of nervousness at the prospect of food. But Shion made it, and he's sure she wouldn't let anyone tamper with her food, so he accepts it with a small smile.*

I've never gotten a chance to try any of your cooking, actually.

Unsettling is another. The Tower and concept of our being brought here is something else altogether.

[She smiled up at him... Until the smile faded as she remembered her other reason for seeking him out.]

But also... I found this with my things in my trunk today.

[She opened her hand to show him Kevin's pendant.]

Yes. It's horrible isn't it? Keeping us all here, and lying about our homes.

I don't understand why someone would want to do that to so many people. And children too...

*His own smile vanished when he saw the pendant and he went tense.*

Why in the world would they give you that?

I don't know, I was hoping maybe you would know something about it. Since, you know...

[You know all of Wilhelm's business right?]

But, from what I hear of the admins, that isn't a concern. From a scientific point of view... one needs to have all walks of life to complete a test.

Well, I know what it is, but I don't know why they would want you to have it.

*Brb, being glad that Zarathustra and Vessels of Anima are too big to fit in a trunk.*

I just can't imagine what they could be trying to do. Or why they would practically torture us, then give us gifts as an apology.

[She sighed, looking down at her plate.]

Maybe it's better I don't understand.
