Dealing with the Regains

Summary: Hei finds a certain friend again...and tries to adjust
Warnings: There's a mogwai in here. Don't mess with him, or earn Hei's wrath. :/

[Cafeteria]

[Figures he would end up with the little fella. Still, at least with him better, he was back doing his best making some more meat for himself and everyone. You'll find him cooking, and a certain little creature assisting him. Or rather, watching him and occasionally giving Hei a utensil he needed, be it to pound the meat or to flip it.

Approach the duo?]

[Library]

[Hei nearly swore off this place, but there were some quirks to it. For instance, he had not bothered trying the literature section. It had been so long in his memories, Hei's memories, that he tried to enjoy something so simple, so he figured this was his chance. The book he read seemed familiar to him, a tale of a monster who was made into one, yet desired happiness; reminded him of a certain someone. And with a nice chair too, he was making himself comfortable.

The mogwai? Oh Mao was next to him on the table, trying to use some 3D glasses for a book he was reading. Eventually, the mogwai growled a bit, tossing the glasses aside. Hei glanced next to him at the creature.]

I told you 3D was a waste of time.

[The mogwai simply nodded in response, and then jumped onto Hei's head, making himself comfortable. Hei merely sighed, letting the fella do as he pleased. It could be worse, he reminds himself.]

[It might not have been right away, but the two would probably notice a young woman just a few feet away staring. Who knows how long she had been there, as she had approached silently, but she seemed totally enamored with the creature.]

[Hei may not have paid her no mind, considering she was just watching, but Mao had other ideas. The pet and Hei shared a look before he nodded, allowing Mao to walk a bit closer to the young woman while on the counter. He waved at her, looking at her with his big cute eyes.]

Hello.

[She spoke softly, and even waved back just barely. She had no idea what the creature was, but it was certainly cute.]

[fusedstars]

[The creature smiles, making a happy little noise as it waves again. The little fella did like attention.]

[holychord]

[Well, since his apparent owner didn't seem to mind, she inched closer.]

[fusedstars]

If you have water, keep it away from him.

[Hei finally chimed into the conversation at last.]

[holychord]

Oh, alright... But why?

[fusedstars]

There's a list telling of what should not be done with these creatures. Failing to do so will morph him, most likely turning him into a creature that will hurt you.

[Notice the mogwai frowning at Hei's words, but nodding as well.]

I see...

[Interesting, though it was difficult to imagine that happening with something so cute.]

Does it have a name?

Mao!

[One of the few words it could say thankfully as it seemed to cheer up.]

Aaah, you can talk! Mao...

[She got that happy and sort of glazed over look again.]

[And it looks up brightly again, holding out its arms. Someone wants to be held!]

[holychord]

[She looked to Hei again.]

Is it okay to hold Mao?

[fusedstars]

Sure.

[holychord]

[Well, in that case, she moved closer and picked the creature up.]

[fusedstars]

[And the mogwai cheers a bit as it is lifted up. Clearly it liked the attention.]

[holychord]

[And Tear always enjoyed people's adorable pets, so she looked fairly happy herself. She even patted him on his head.]

Are you used to dealing with such animals by chance?

[Guess who's been asleep for a while and decided to wonder? She's at the edge of the door peeking and... Hei, what is it you got there? Kirika is going to stare at it very long at it's weird cuteness.]

[The mogwai waves at Kirika, staring at her. Hei catches her attention as well.]

I was wondering where you were.

[carrythesin]

[After catching it's attention, more stares at the mogwai. She gives a nod before looking away from Hei.]

In my room it seems.

How are you feeling?

[carrythesin]

Okay. I slept for a while. Did I miss anything?

[Thinks it's clone sickness.]

Christmas and New Years.

[carrythesin]

Is that all?

[fusedstars]

Aside from a lot of people getting sick, yes.

[carrythesin]

...So they did it again.

[fusedstars]

[The mogwai frowns, looking up at her as it was walking towards her.]

[carrythesin]

[Oh, hello little cute thing. Kirika will continue to stare down at him curiously.]

[fusedstars]

[It holds out its arms, as if trying to hug Kirika.]

[carrythesin]

[Okay, it wins. Kirika kneels down petting it's head.]

[fusedstars]

Cute, isn't he?

[carrythesin]

[There's a nod while petting.] Where did he come from?

[fusedstars]

He was part of an experiment week at the facility. I presumed we would never meet again and yet we did.

[carrythesin]

[Well that makes her frown, but she's still petting him.]

[fusedstars]

He's friendly though, and if annoying, useful as well. Also, here.

[He takes a mask from under his coat. There's a blank white mask in his hand.]

I wasn't sure which design you wanted on it, but I thought you should take it. Poor Christmas present, true, though there is little else.

[carrythesin]

Does he have a name?

[Yes, that's an important question. Kirika stares up when Hei presence her the mask. She smiles at it. First gift Hei.]

It's fine like that. [Meaning she'll figure it out later. In the meantime, she pulls something from her pocket, a hand-made bracelet.] This was the only thing I can make.

[fusedstars]

Mao.

[Not the most creative name, but hey, it was one of a friend of his. He does smile at the bracelet, putting it on. To think she had time even before the coma...]

It's perfect. Don't worry.

[She smiles at the name, Mao.]

Nice to meet you, Mao.

[She smiles more when Hei accepts it.] I learned it from a book.

[Mao cheers at the attention it is given. Hei on the other hand just smiles.]
