Summary: Having his version of magical anemia sucks.

Floor 4
[This floor could have been nice for any visitors.

Except for the dead looking body lying on the floor. Not too long ago, Satsujinki collapsed here and, unfortunately for him, he can't move. It's almost as if his body had been drained of energy. The only sign that he's alive is that he's still breathing and, if one gets close enough to tell, his teeth are clenched together in frustration.

Suffering from 'Chronic Vertigo Anemia' frequently caused him to collapse as a kid. It only got worse as he got older. It lasts longer and is quite a bit more severe now than it used to be.

Maybe...just barely, he might be able to talk. Just enough to refuse assistance, even though he needs it.]

Hallways
[At some point, he was able to wave off assistance and is attempting to make it back to his own dorm alone. Being a little handicapped by his lack of sight, he still tried to make the walk, using the wall as a support.

It's not a pretty sight but his expression for anyone who approaches is certainly unwelcoming. He's been living alone for a few years and had to deal with this fairly frequently. As far as he's concerned, he can still deal with it himself.]

"I could argue that there's plenty wrong in accepting it."

Which was all specific to him so he never blamed other people for asking for help from others.

And Tohko looked a bit puzzled when she heard that.

"How so?"

"It's not exactly something that easily understood unless you feel the same way."

Tohko sighed before speaking again.

"Maybe not..but I would still like to try and understand."

"Some people see that kind of thing as a give and take relationship. And they don't want to owe someone else, even if they think there's nothing to owe."

He spoke about it as if in third person but it's something he had believed his entire life.

"But..what if they're wrong? What if things like that aren't a give-and-take relationship?"

"There's no real right or wrong answer to that."

"..Then what's your answer to that?"

"I think you can already take a guess on that."

Tohko nodded and sighed.

"I see..why do you see it like that?"

He shrugs in reply. Shiki never really had a driving reason. Even as a kid, he left the house during the holidays so his adoptive parents didn't have to go out of their way to provide for him.

Tohko sighed and scratched her head.

"I see..well, if there's no reason as to why you hold that viewpoint, then why hold it at all?"

"Why do you always want to know things? Do you ever give that any serious thought?"

"Oh, I've known the answer to that for a long time! The more I know, the more I can help people. Sure, I know a lot by reading, but there's still a lot more that I don't know."

"And why do you want to help people?"

"Because being sad, scared, lonely, depressed, and in trouble feels pretty horrific. I don't want anyone to feel like that, so I'll do the best I can to help them out."

"What about people who prefer that kind of thing? Sometimes, it's better for some to be separate from others."

"..Sometimes, a little bit of solitude does help, but I've never read or heard about anyone who liked wallowing in suffering and depression."

"You're looking at one."

Normally, Tohko would have hugged Satsujinki outright, but since she didn't know if he'd like that or not, she settled for patting his head and giving him a concerned look.

"But..why? Isn't that painful?"

"Don't think I'm feeling bad for myself but that's just the amount of difference between me and everyone else. The problems I have can't be helped out or solved by others."

"Well, you don't know that unless you go to others for help and let them know about your problems. I know your troubles are pretty large, and I may not be able to do much, but I'd still like to help you, and I'm sure others in the Tower would as well."

"My issues are one of a kind. The only person who'd understand is the younger me walking around here. Help without understanding isn't really helpful."

"Then help me understand. Tell me your story!"

"....not now. But I promise we can sit down in the future and talk."
