Format: Action, but I'll match you.
Summary: Having had a few days to adapt - for some values of the word adapt (read: stop feeling homicidal about everything ever), Sesshomaru decides it's time to explore a little and test a few theories.
Warnings: Testy inu daiyoukai with a tendency to melt things that annoy him with his poison claws. Also fluffy, angry dog in the meadow floor.

[Room 4-14]

[He hadn't much noticed the two boxes or the wreath in his trunk, when he first arrived, much more in a hurry to get out of that ridiculous suit - which was thankfully already melted and done for - and to seek out some answers, but today Sesshomaru takes the time to study them, before heading out to inspect the tower more in detail. He'd worked out most of his rage at the monsters in that perpetual night floor, but he hadn't come out with many answers over all.

So now there he is, sitting on his assigned bed - tch - arching an eyebrow at a box of his favorite flavor of pocky and a box, of all things, of dog treats. Sesshomaru did not find the joke very funny at all. It hadn't been funny when Kagome gave him them, and it wasn't funny now.

There's also a dried flower wreath on the bed, but he's not bothering to look or touch or acknowledge it, because something inside hurts a little too much when he tries to think about it.]

[Meadow floor]

[After some cursory exploration of the Tower, he decided this was the best floor on which to attempt this, and thus walked away from the staircase resolutely. A good distance away, he closed his eyes for a moment, before he opened them and began to gather his youki to transform back into his true form.]

[He succeeds, and he certainly doesn't look much like a puppy, but the size alone is infuriating. Barely eight, nine feet at the most, and certainly much smaller than he should be.

How annoying.]

[Anywhere else]

[After he's done with the meadow floor, somewhat disgusted by such a lackluster transformation and deeply infuriated by anyone who'd dare do such a thing to him, Sesshomaru stalks away towards the staircase, intent on exploring the tower more thoroughly this time.]

[Sesshomaru hums a little, unconvinced, but he decides to let the subject drop for now.]

Well, if I didn't ask questions, I never would have found out about how some of the other universes the other residents come from work, and nor would I have made some friends. And I wouldn't have good proof as to why our home worlds aren't destroyed.

And what proof is that?

That some of the residents here wouldn't even exist if their universes were destroyed. Their life is tied to their universes life, so if they're alive, that must mean that our universes aren't destroyed.

[He's a dog. Would you talk about philosophy with your dog? Granted, some people do, but most don't actually expect an answer. Because dog.]

An unbreakable connection, is it.

[He knows a thing or two about those and he's generally not fond of them. Then again, he's not quite sure how someone could be bound to the very life of a universe like that. It sounds somewhat ridiculous to him.]

And what has been done, with such information?

That it is. People have been informed of this information, and with it, more and more people are seeking out the truth from the Administrators. With that information, people find hope to fight back.

[Anything more complicated than "this is the thing we're gonna kill" is philosophy, as far as Sesshomaru is concerned.]

Having hope to fight back and actually fighting back are two very different things.

At that, comment, Tohko sighed.]

Actually, they're tied to one another. If you have no will to fight, then a good knife may as well be a piece of cottage cheese. However, I can assure you that people have been fighting in this Tower. It's a long, uphill battle for the truth and a way home, but we have been fighting.

[...does he need be? Really? There's always someone else to foster the annoying, intellectual duties on. He looks at her funnily, almost as if tempted to ask what the heck "cottage cheese" is, but he refrains. He's somewhat annoyed by yet another pang of familiarity, however. As soon as he goes back home, he will make sure to drop by and coax Kagome into a nice, cathartic screaming match. His brother's woman somehow manages to be a nuisance even now.]

You asked what was being done with that piece of information. How did that not answer it?

But you have not, in fact, told me what they are doing with that information, only that something is being done.

It's because the residents here have different plans. We don't all get along, and while five people may have one plan, five other may have another, and it's hard for me to keep track of every single one. Especially with the chessmasters, who I can only guess at, since the chessmasters here are good.

So..things are being done, but people are doing their own things with them, if that makes any sense.

That is offensively inefficient.

[Says the moron who spent months huffing and throwing tantrums about the idea of working in tandem with his brother to conquer the problem more efficiently.]

[At that, Tohko sighed and scratched her head.]

I know that it's not the best system, but in a large Tower like this with people who have conflicting interests, that's going to happen. The main thing is that we're all trying to dig out the truth from the Administrators and stop them from torturing us.

[Notice the lack of us. Because no one tortures Sesshomaru. Except Sesshomaru himself. Ha ha ha. Sob.]

..In any number of ways. They could take away your free will, alter your memories and your body, take away your senses, give you psychological conditions, stick you in pods and experiment upon you..or any other method that I'm not thinking of right now.

I know it doesn't sound like much..but trust me, it's pretty horrible once you start experiencing it.

I'm not that weak..and people stronger than me have also been affected. Trust me, it's not about how strong you are. Sooner or later, the Administrators will mess with you.
