(no subject)

Characters: Waver Velvet and open
Setting: Floors 14, 45, 19 and 43 or anywhere else
Format: Starting with action but I can match
Summary: Waver's been in the tower for twenty years and become a grumpy bum. Replies will come from [personal profile] achillean
Warnings: Nothing really, I don't think.

Floor 14
[Is there really someone sitting in front of a tv with a Playstation controller in hand...in boxers and an undershirt? Yup, there sure is. And that person is Waver. Poor posture and everything. Although it might be hard to some to recognise him as Waver Velvet at first, as he's aged twenty years. His hair grown out past his waist, and being nearly a foot taller are the major points. Care to join? Sure you do.]

Floor 45
[Waver stands at the windows, looking out to the clouds as he thinks. The faceless creatures occasionally watch him, but he pays it no mind, and even chuckles to himself in thinking of his first day in the tower and how afraid he had been. Looking down at what little of the world below he can see through the clouds is a good way to problem-solve, or work out a plan for his next lesson, letting his mind wander. Today, though, he's thinking about what his life could have been outside the tower. Remaining with Rider and those he had met in the Tower of Animus certainly did him good, but if it all had never happened, where would he be? There's no use in wishing for that, or to go home, he's seen the ruins of his world firsthand now. But the thought is an interesting one nonetheless, and something difficult to turn away from. Especially when he's now spent longer in the tower than he'd spent at home.]

Floor 19
[An average day for Waver has always involved plenty of reading. Finding very few other spots in which he can concentrate without being bothered by the tower, or people in the tower, he sits in the library with a magic text of his own. He jots down notes in a notebook as he goes. There are enough magi in the tower to bounce his ideas off of from time to time, as he still strongly believes study can create a great magus. These days it's all a matter of getting any new books from home. Luckily he's received a few at Christmas from the administrators, and has several others piled up on the table. Although a nearly tattered copy of The Iliad sits among them. He's also lighted a cigar and sits with it in his mouth almost the entire time, with no regard for the fact that a library probably isn't the best place to be smoking.]

Floor 43
[In the evening, Waver takes a plate of food up to the cells, as he thinks Ryuunosuke has been locked in one for some time, and can't allow him to starve in there and end up free again. He carries it nonchalantly through the tower, taking the elevator to floor 41 and walking the rest of the way. But when he gets there, and sees the cells all empty, the doors simply hanging open, he drops the plate, sending it crashing to the ground.]

Shit--

[Had someone let Ryuunosuke out? He has to find him right away, before he can hurt anyone, any of the children he tutors.

He can be found all around the tower, desperately looking for the one he should be watching, and cursing under his breath the whole time.]

[Well...he doesn't really mind, actually. Pat away, Tohko.]

...I don't think you need to do that, besides, he would probably take it literally and beat me half to death.
tohko_amano: (Laugh)

[personal profile] tohko_amano 2013-01-13 10:59 am (UTC)(link)
[At that, Tohko chuckled again.]

Well, I probably don't need to do that, but I would like to help. And I don't think Rider would do that! He's no an idiot. And if he tried, I'd let him know where he slipped up.

No, you're right, a king has to be a smart man, and Alexander was the best of them. I know you like books, but that man loves to talk about himself, you should ask him about his life or of the philosophers and other great minds of the time.
tohko_amano: (Delicious)

[personal profile] tohko_amano 2013-01-13 02:37 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, I will if I bump into him again! It should be interesting to see how they were like in his time. I'm sure it would be a great story.

[For Tohko, history is nothing more than the story of the world.]
achillean: (for the Isles of Ken we are assailing)

[personal profile] achillean 2013-01-13 09:04 pm (UTC)(link)
He was a pupil of Aristotle, you know. Who else could give firsthand accounts of such a famous man?
tohko_amano: (Happy)

[personal profile] tohko_amano 2013-01-13 09:10 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, someone else who visited Aristotle could..

[It's a joke, Waver, a joke!]

But you're right! If anyone here is in a position to be speaking about them, it's him. Maybe he should start teaching a few classes himself once we start.

[He grins, yeah, he got the joke, he's into sarcasm these days.]

Right, you can't go anywhere without bumping into someone who's met that guy.

'Once we start'? Oh, right, the 'school' started about twenty years ago, didn't it. Rider doesn't teach anything, he just goes around the tower being as loud as ever.
tohko_amano: (excited)

[personal profile] tohko_amano 2013-01-13 11:26 pm (UTC)(link)
[Tohko chuckled at that.]

That does sound like him. I'll have to try and convince him now to teach a few people in something. Maybe I can change his mind!
achillean: ways (it's time for you to renounce the old)

[personal profile] achillean 2013-01-14 09:19 am (UTC)(link)
I don't know about that, his method of teaching leaves something to be desired. He's a bit too...physical.

[ie: constantly throwing Waver around and slapping him on the back way too hard.]
tohko_amano: (apologetic)

[personal profile] tohko_amano 2013-01-14 03:17 pm (UTC)(link)
How so? Does he punish students a bit too much when they've got something wrong? Or does he pat them on the head and accidentally smack them?
achillean: (you have slept now for 1000 years)

[personal profile] achillean 2013-01-14 11:52 pm (UTC)(link)
He used to pick me up by my shirt, and he definitely doesn't know his own strength.
tohko_amano: (puzzled)

[personal profile] tohko_amano 2013-01-15 01:53 am (UTC)(link)
Why did he pick you up by your shirt?
achillean: ways (it's time for you to renounce the old)

[personal profile] achillean 2013-01-24 06:27 am (UTC)(link)
I guess it's that I didn't want to go along with him during the war. ...But also just because he's huge and I was small.
tohko_amano: (Nervous laugh)

[personal profile] tohko_amano 2013-01-24 06:36 am (UTC)(link)
[Tohko has to force herself not to laugh at the mental image.]

I can see that happening..but I imagine he didn't hurt you while he was picking you up. He probably just saw it as the best way, due to the size difference and the struggling.
achillean: (and cross the Rubicon; tonight)

[personal profile] achillean 2013-01-24 06:37 am (UTC)(link)
No, no, it hurt. It was like throwing around a sack of potatoes, or picking a dog up by the scruff of its neck.
tohko_amano: (droop)

[personal profile] tohko_amano 2013-01-24 06:42 am (UTC)(link)
Ah..I'm sorry to hear that then. And, if I'm guessing correctly, telling him about that wouldn't make him stop.

But..he might be a bit gentler if he was placed in an actual classroom. Maybe.
achillean: (you have slept now for 1000 years)

[personal profile] achillean 2013-01-26 09:36 pm (UTC)(link)
It's possible... I don't know if I would want to test it to find out, personally.
tohko_amano: (excited)

I would like to find out. After all, as class taught by Alexander the Great would have to be something great!
