    ►►► FLOOR FOUR;
[ Life in the tower has twisted many of the inhabitants. For hundreds of years, these two young women have worked alongside each other to compliment the strengths (and to accommodate the weaknesses) they each held. With Sion's intelligence, they were able to thwart most experiments and with Satsuki's uncanny ability to remain undetected by most of the tower's inhabitants, the two of them learned to rely less on the people around them and more on each other. A friendship through time that never risked being broken until: ]

H-Hey, you almost shot me! [ Satsuki flails her arms back and forth with a controller in hand. On the screen is the inevitable YOU LOSE on Sion's side and in the hand of the purple-haired girl? A gun. ] What was that for?!

[ This is the sort of scene one can come to expect from the fourth floor these days. Nearby there's a pile of broken controllers and consoles as a result of a certain sore loser. Don't worry, she brings them back a day or two later fully repaired and running better than ever. For those who wish to join in, feel free to place a quarter or whatever the equivalent to console gaming is, but beware because vampires are nothing to mess with. Especially when it comes to the fighting game "Thawy Blood". Other game titles are up for debate. ]

[Because... seriously, he can't think of anything else to do. This seems like a pleasantly mindless waste of way too much time.

And... maybe he'd like to see them fight for the win. He picks his way across the room, his training letting him keep his balance pretty easily.]

Sion look, it's like in the game.

[ In a deeper voice: ] A new challenger approaches!

[ After that, she'll wave him over. Yes, come play winner with one of the two vampires. ]

If it were like the game then there would be a background change right about now.

[ She just goes along with Satsuki since well having another person to play against would be fun. ]

Probably the music would pick up, too.

[Hey, he likes video games.]

Maybe some subtitles about what a dangerous, experienced opponent I am and how hopeless your prospects are.

[The tone is a little listless, but he's smiling just enough to look a little mischievous.]

Even if you are dangerous you will find it very hard to beat us at this game.

[ Even though Sion is a sore loser and will just trash the system later. ]

I've had a lot of practice.

[Mostly playing against Jason, who was dead before he'd ever heard of Animus, but let's let that slide.]

What game is it? I need to work on my strategy.

It's a fighting game called Thawy Blood. Since this is the latest version there are 26 playable characters.

[Just...watching. Not like he's going to leave this floor while these two are around.

Don't ask him to play, bums, he gave up arcade games forever ago.]

[ Oh, it's Shiki again. A Shiki. One of many Shikis. Satsuki's lost count by now (because keep tracking is unhealthy, Sion insists, but she's sure that if someone asks her, that she'll give the number right away stupid know-it-all) but she's learned something while in the tower. Keeping some distance is healthy. ]

Do you want to play? [ She'll offer him her very own controller. ] I don't mind waiting my turn.

Thanks Satsuki but...

[The name alone should give it away. He's the only Shiki that calls her by her given name. But he had to pause for a second. Also ignore the bandage icon, he's pretty unbandaged, okok.]

...I'm fine. Games aren't really my thing. Mind if I slide over there though?

Oh, you want to sit with us?

[ Scooting on over just a bit. ] Here, there's enough room for you.

[Stealing the seat by Satsuki, even if it is slightly cramped. He's okay with that.]

I don't mind if you keep playing though.

[ She should have asked "us", but a part of her hopes he's mostly here for her. ]

Sion gets pretty mad when she loses.

[Normally walking past this floor without a second thought, this "Tv" thing intrigues Mr. Walker enough that his head is a few paces behind the rest of his body before he stops to make his way towards the loser-dom.]

Oh, hey, what's this thing?

[yumizuka]

Thawy Blood! [ Because he clearly means the fighting game on the screen instead of anything else. ] An epic tournament battle where the winner gets the happy ending to their story line!

[whiteblackknight]

Thawy Blood? [Weird. it was a moving bunch of pictures...that responded to what they input into those weird controls!

...

Actually, this isn't really that new to himself. Timcanpy, a golem only about the size of an apricot with a golden wingspan and tail, fluttered around the room, having taken flight from the top of his head.]

Uhm...I think I get it. Looks fun. [This is said, unusually, without any sarcasm in it. Allen is genuinely interested.]

Huh, do you wanna play with us?

[ Maybe if Sion beat up a newbie, she wouldn't be as mad at her. Holding out a controller, she gives a smile. ]

Come on.

[He takes the controller without a word at first. A black hand's thumb inquisitively thumbed at the small buttons on the left side of the controller, including the analog.]

[It seemed familiar, yet at the same time, totally new.]

Alright then. I'll give it a try, I guess. [He says, still not quite making eye contact with either girl.]

Alright, to join in you have to hit the start button first.

[ Satsuki's all too eager to train someone new. ] And then we can load up the character select screen!

[atlasia]

It's a video game that involves a lot of skill in order to defeat the enemy.

I see. [The pictures look very nice, indeed!]

[He smiles at this.] Looks pretty great, actually. How does it work?

[atlasia]

The controller is hooked up to a game system which then projects the game's graphics and other menus on the screen.

Using the controller you can control a character of your choice in-game.

[whiteblackknight]

A game, huh?...Don't think I've seen something like this before.

[Worth a shot. Allen's a friendly chap, so he sits down when he can and stares at the controller a little, then takes a look at the screen.]

[A display that's flat? Works out...not too unusual. He's seen them plenty before around the tower.]

Wow. I think you guys might be a little better at this then I am, though. [He says so quite humbly.] What do I do?...Controller wise, I mean.

The side with the arrow like buttons is called the D-pad, you use it to move the character. The side with the circle buttons are used to punch, kick and pull off other moves.

If you mash all the buttons you can still do a decent amount of damage if you have no idea what you're doing.
