Setting: Floor 19, aka The Creepy Library.
Format: Either one. I'll follow you.
Summary: Ienzo rather likes this new library, save for the minor issue of HALF THE BOOKS BEING MISSING. He is not standing for this.
Warnings: None, so far.

Well, Tower, there’s a new library!

Now take a wild guess who’s the first one in it.

Yup, anyone who sets foot in the library will likely fiend Ienzo already traipsing around. Perhaps ‘traipsing’ is not the right word, though — he’s moving clearly as if he has an intent in mind, the intent being finding where all of the other books went. He doesn’t terribly care if this library is much more ominous and threatening in its ambiance, of course, though someone else might. So who knows? A small creature with a grave expression and a swooshy white coat might appear just slightly unnerving in this half-lit and half-stocked library.

I made a post earlier on the network asking a few questions, collar color was one of those questions. We can go back and look at that post for reference as well.

I wonder if collar color can change do to happenings in the tower, say if one gets much stronger or weaker.

[Hang on a minute. Hang on. ... Yellow collar. Check. Network post? He remembered responding to one of those. There was definitely talk of collar colors. And the one he had talked to, one of the trolls because of their odd text color... it had been green, yes? And this one was wearing a similar shade of green on her shirt.]

[Oh man what if this was some other person/troll? What if he was wrong? She could just be wearing the green for now, or maybe it was just a one-time decision... what if what if what if...]

Yes, that was my post and how I type, in the color of the ♍ on my shirt. If You responded to it then you are aware of how many people responded. While it's only a small portion of people it is a start.

...yes. [He tacked all those people to his list.] ...we... were discussing the collaborative information pool, i believe...

Ah, it seems as if we have spoken before then. Forgive me for not connecting the two.

Have you collected any more information?

[He nods, in response to both the first and second statement. He didn't connect the two incidents either, at first. Looking at it now, it seems obvious that the trolls (seemingly the only people who type in such a way) would have to be the ones behind the query, and green text would be equivalent to green troll. He didn't meet the other green troll for very long but he was fairly sure that her green color was... erm, different. He never really bothered with color theory.]

On the second front, he had been working on mostly collar colors, granted. But those seem to be just as prominent as gauging how long the tower has existed -- and if Kanaya's theory is true, they have just become even more hugely significant.]

...if you wish... i could go and get my notebook right now.

I would like to see the information you have gathered. I have not transcribed mine from the computer but it may be wise to do so if they are taken away from us.

...you have it saved on a computer? [He didn't even know it was possible to do that. But even if he did, all these technological advancements still make him a little uneasy (especially the meaning of that mysterious Shift key), so he would probably keep it in a physical book so that he could monitor it more closely. Who knows what could be pried out of those systems?]

You can go back and see the chat logs of the past, nothing more than that.

[Oh. That made sense. He figured maybe she had found some kind of program that saved information individually of what was written on the Network. Oh well.] ...well, in that case... would you mind if i went to retrieve the notebook...?

[sadly that wasn't the case] Please, go and retrieve it. [a pause] Would you mind if I came along as well?

...not at all... follow me. [And he sets off. As far as Ienzo could tell, both genders were allowed in a given dorm, even if they had been divided by gender upon arrival. It seemed Kanaya believed this as well.]

The information you gathered, is it just from sight or did communicate with them to find out other information?

...both. [He's not going to mention that the only instances in which he actually asked people were through the Network. Introvert McCripplingshyness over here.]

Have you found out any useful information via communication or do you believe it to be more effective to just observe?

...i feel that observation is more effective... but obviously... clarification would be necessary for the more uncertain matters...

[Oh look, they're at the dorms now. Ienzo opens the door and retrieves the notes in question from within his several mountains of books, and hands it to Kanaya. It's possible to see various papers -- all of the notes Ienzo has received thus far -- paper-clipped inside.] ...here you are.

[she flips through the notes, reading them quickly] What matters do you think believe clarification? [she looks up] I wonder if it is possible for collar colors to change, if they would change on their own or if they would need to be replaced manually.

...it might be... if the criteria is something that can be changed... like mindset or ability level...

I think those are the two possible options, or perhaps a combination of both. I cannot fathom why they would be color coded if not to label us as a certain threat level considering it has nothing to do with class.

...class? [Now that is an interesting comment. Ienzo hasn't quite gained an understanding of the hemospectrum yet, so her attachment of hierarchy to the colored collars seems unusual to him.]

Yes, in troll society things are separated into a class system based on the color of one's blood with reds and oranges being the lowest, yellows and greens in the middle, and blues and purples at the top. That does not seem to be the case in the tower.

[He assumes the Thinking Pose for this. That would make sense, he supposed, considering the fact that each troll seemed to have a different color associated with themselves. An interesting method of hierarchy, he supposed, and only slightly less 'fair' than the money-based system most of his society tended to use. It was possible to make a lot of money and suddenly become more powerful, but really, how often did that happen?] ...i see. yes, most humans have red blood, so a system like that would be... redundant.

Only most?

...certain diseases change blood color... and when deprived of oxygen, it has a tendency to turn blue...

[Cut to author frantically Googling everything everywhere to check if this is for real.]

Without oxygen you die, isn't that right? So technically you all have red blood, at least start with read blood.
