Setting: The 20th Floor
Format: Either or.
Summary: Canada's climbed to the top of the tower to see what's around them if possible.
Warnings: NA.

Canada felt like he had been trapped in the building for much too long. Even in the forest it felt artificial and forced, like a garden or terrarium. It didn't feel like there was any connection to the outside world. So, gathering up his bear Matt headed up all those stairs, passing some terrifynig rooms like the one with the bloodied walls and screaming or the room that was a complete void.

Finally reaching the top and standing on the very top of the tower he sighed. Nothing could be seen through the fog but at least he could smell the fresh air instead of whatever was recycled within the building below his feet.

"Oh, okay, as long as you're sure you're alright." Matt put his hands in the pocket of his red hoodie. He wasn't too sure if Hungary was telling the truth or bluffing, she had as much pride as Prussia did when it came to her being on her own.

"This tower is really dangerous isn't it?"

Watching him for a moment with the cool air of the outside world blowing past them, tossling her hair a bit. Stepping closer to him, she looped her arm with his and glanced out over the fog. "It is." She said simply.

Glancing up at him, she gave a small smile. "But don't worry. We'll protect you and one another."

"I guess that's something" he gave her a kind smile. "Although, I guess I should've brought my hunting rifle not just a hand gun." he sighed and wondered if in the bottom of his trunk lay anything useful as a weapon. Maybe they had given him skates?

Sighing quietly, she rested her head on his shoulder-arm. He was really tall compared to her.

"I wish the same. I would rather not have to use it but- part of me wishes I was better equip for the situation at hand."

"Yea... that sounds like me usually. All of my military equipment is second hand." he gave a small laugh and felt rather depressed. It was sadly true that most of Canada's war machines had been bought second hand from nearly every other nation but at least he had them, it counted right?

He blushed faintly when Hungary leaned her head against his arm. That was a change, most nations didn't give him the time of day let alone nearly leaning on him.

Well, she did have a bit of a soft spot for the North American brothers. They had helped her so much during the 1956 revolution she experienced and even if she had been part of the Axis force during the second World War, they were still kind enough to open their boarders and help her from Soviet oppression. Because of that, she knew she could never really ever thank them enough for such a dark time in recent history.

She kept her head against his arm, finding comfort in the heat he brought with him against the chilly air. She hugged his arm a little closer to her chest as she thought more on the situation they were presented.

"I really don't like how they lied to us about our world being destroyed... I tried not to think about it since-if that were true then- we wouldn't be here, right?" She asked as she glanced up at him from where she was, blinking dark lashes curiously.

"I think..." Matt took a moment to choose his words carefully, "That if our world was destroyed then all of us would be here. Not just one or two or several. All of us would be. Because, where else would we go?" he glanced down at Hungary with soft indigo eyes and a small smile.

"We'll get out of here and go home soon enough."

Nodding when she met his gaze, she turned and glanced off shyly back towards the rolling in fog.She liked the idea of them all together even after time stops for them. Would Nations really ever go to heaven or would they just fade away for memories sake like the older ones... Like eventually Prussia would. Her brows furrowed at that as she tried to push the thoughts away.

"Mm. All of us." She said with a firm nod of her head.

"I like to think so. I have a feeling Rome and Germania would already be here if we were really dead. Seeing as they're not, I believe we've merely been kidnapped." he admitted quietly. From Hungary's reaction he felt like he could read her mind, her thoughts about her childhood rival.

A small part of him knew that Prussia did love Hungary, he'd said so a few times while he was too drunk to remember which way was up and had crashed on the Canadian's couch with his ass stuck in the air. But he doubted that he'd ever tell the nation beside him that, they both had too much pride.

Not to mention it gave Matt the beginnings of a headache contemplating how that relationship would work. He had a feeling there would either be a lot of yelling or it would work flawlessly, once they got over their differences of course.

Still staring out, her face remained blank while she used her free hand to push some of the hair back from her face that fluttered past her and tickled. She sighed quietly before she spoke: "Germany said that he came to him once." Leaving it there for a moment, she glanced up towards the sky.

"Rome that is. He was asleep and Rome came and seemed as real as day. He missed his grandsons so..I like to think they're still around and make themselves known whenever someone thinks hard enough about them." She said with the smallest of smiles on her lips. "At least, that's a nice thought."

"That's a nice thing to think. I don't think they ever really leave, just move on to somewhere else... You think we'll end up there someday?" he asked, glancing down at Hungary, curious as to her idea.

"I honestly think you have nothing to worry about." She said with a small smile up at him.

Her on the other hand... crippling depression, mass migrations out of her lands, worried folks on the stability of her economy... Hungary could see herself being one of the Nations to possibly fall within the next possibly hundred years which, for Nations is hardly that long. Both she and Greece, along with some others on the European front, have dealt with such instability as of lately.

"America isn't your biggest trading partner." Matt gave her a sad smile. His banks might be more stable but he'd taken a pounding with this recession as well, his people were out of work, immigration rates were being cut because the economy had no jobs to support his own people let alone others. He'd allowed his brother to talk him into peackeeping in afghanistan and the middle east.

If his brother went under Matt was going to be right behind him, taking England with him and slowly the rest of the world. It was a constant worry and ate away at Matt's stomach like a persistent ulcer. But he was okay for now, hopefully his brother would recover soon.

"You're still a leading in riotousness though, I wouldn't worry too much if I were you." She said to the young nation. After having been around for a few thousand years and seeing the transitions of state, power, boarders, war, she knew he could make it.

Her hand moved to his where she gently squeezed it with her own, noticing how warm it felt against her colder hand. "Try not to worry so much. You look better with a smile anyways."

"I still do, and you're the first person to tell me that." he said quietly, flushing slightly when she took his hand. It was the first reaction he had to anyone touching or hugging him, he hated it but couldn't help it.

"No." He was lying. "It's just the cold wind."

Unable to hold in her smirk and laugh, she poked his cheek playfully. "You're blushing~"

"I am not." Which made him flush more and move his head away from her hand.

With another small smirk, she pulled her hands away and decided it was best to leave now before she risked angering him. She gave his hand another squeeze before she turned and headed back towards the tower.

"Ah, wait, where are you going?" Matt was so confused. After a moment he turned and followed her at a jog to come beside her. "I'm sorry."

Stopping, she glanced up at him and curiously tilted her head a bit unsure why he was apologizing to her. "Hm? What are you apologizing for?"

"Habit? You just left so suddenly I didn't know if I offended you or something." He said walking beside her, being eerily quiet for his size.

"I figured you'd want some alone time to collect your thoughts. You seemed deep in thought before I interrupted you." She said quietly while tucking her hair behind her ear.

"Ah, no, I was just zoned out really... It's a bad habit of mine." he admitted and gave her an embarassed smile.
