Summary: Chloe appears to be filing down and making knives for some odd reason.
Warnings: Well, she's likely to be a little more creepy than usual, but should be PG.

Chloe disliked having to do this. Metallurgy wasn't her strong point, and she'd never been forced to actually fashion her own knives. However, she had maintained them for most of her life, and finding books on the fashioning of the small tools in one of the libraries had been far from impossible.

If there were no other options, then she would learn. Two blades was not enough. Outside of the occasional power outtages, she worked quietly and carefully to prepare the metal. This first one was crude, but she'd expected that. She would improve.

Yes, but I'm sure I'll come up with some way to occupy my time. While the different floors may be dangerous, they still help supply materials and other things.

I wonder how many of those materials actually remain when one leaves. Some of those places I have visited are ... rather ephemeral. Still, they are something to explore for the bold.

Even I can admit that I've avoided some of them, just out of common sense. But others aren't too bad as long as you keep your wits about you.

Some of them have distinct advantages, depending upon what it is that you need. Which ones have drawn the most interest from you so far?

[Outide of Morgue duties and that strange event, Chloe had done comparably little exploring so far. In reality, she felt ill prepared for it at the moment, and wanted to perfect at least the idea of tending and fashioning her own knives. It was clear that she'd been practicing at least some, but she wasn't there yet.]

I found a beach the other day. I haven't been to a planet to a beach in a long time, so that was very enjoyable. I also really liked the floor full of flowers, I've never really seen something like that before.

[ She's not lying, she's just leaving out all of the floors she used for trying out her weapons on monsters. ]

The meadow is attractive, yes. There are unique problems with those small islands that foat in the middle of the tower, but they do have a very ... natural appeal. It does not hurt that a human is on even footing with something else here.

I don't really have any special abilities or anything, so I haven't noticed anything that would pull me down to a level I'm already at.

Nor have I, or would I. However, old reports are helpful if you're willing to sift through a great deal of traffic. It is ... helpful to know the places you are on an even footing with things like some of the youkai.

[ She says the word slowly, like she's testing it out. ]

Japanese spirits. If you ever hear of a place called Gensokyo, there are youkai from it. Those I've seen, oni, youkai, shinigami... all of them are incredibly powerful, even the weakest able to afflict mind or body with a thought.

There's some of these youkai from Gensokyo wandering around here, then? It might be interesting to meet them... as long as they don't decide I'm a nice snack.

I have met at least one being that claims to be from that place. It referred to itself as a Yama. I am unsure if that is more powerful or not, but it certainly thought it was.

...it did not attack on sight?

A creature with an ego. That's exactly what this place needs.

[ Said with a bit of distain placed onto the word "creature." ]

Nevertheless, I will look into it.

Oh believe me... they all have an ego in that place. One that dwarfs my own considerably. Their ego about 'how the world should work' is so strong that you'll probably learn to identify them more from that.

A few are tolerable... but I have not seen them here, and I am unsure if their time in the world we shared changed them.

I'm a little relieved I won't run into any of them here, but I suppose if they come, I'll be ready for their poor attitudes.

... I seem to be unclear, but I will help. There are some from there, but not the ones I knew in the last place I was brought to.

Heh. They might say the same of you... of course some consider themselves gods.

That said? I have seen many in my time. At least ten, and Gensokyo is a kingdom or a city, with others attached.

I couldn't begin to keep track of all of these worlds even if I tried. To be frank, it's becoming a little overwhelming.

[ And oh god, demons consider themselves god? She wants to shoot them already. ]

It will do that. I keep track of only those that leave an impression on me. If Earth is involved, even if it is a different earth, I usually assume that it is at least similar to my own in some fashion.

That would make sense, but I have never actually visited Earth, so the planet doesn't mean much to me.

I would have to place you with those of another sort then. Sometimes there is very little I learn of a world. It all depends on how forthcoming souls are.

I can tell you that the Imperium stretches out across several planets in our galaxy.

Higher technology. Distant or near future then. Hard to say if ours is really the same history. However, I've met that sort before. Not as often, though. A great deal of sword and sorcery gets brought into these places for some reason.

[She lifted the knife again to inspect it.]

Indeed. I am from the year 40,000, which I've heard is quite a bit in the future for you.

So long as your time is reckoned as mine was, yes it is. I suspect regardless you are from a world of more advanced technology all the same.

In a way, I suppose, but we don't see a lot of need for luxury items like your world. Though, that's only a guess based on what I've heard from other people.

Luxury... I am unsure what world you speak of, though I suppose there were many I killed who had a love for what they thought of as luxury. I imagine wine counts.
