ITP: Wise Actions

Setting: A few places on various days.
Format: You pick!
Summary: A couple of things have been weighing down on his mind lately, but hey - there's new stuff to explore, so he might as well make himself feel useful and check them out instead of sulking.
Warnings: Probably violence on the classroom floor due to Ishimaru being a dumbass. Classroom shenanigans should probably all be kept to the same thread.

[Classroom]

[The second Ishimaru finds himself greeted with a classroom environment, he brightens up considerably. Sure, it's a bit of a dusty old mess, but he'd always been the type to volunteer to tidy up classrooms after school back home anyway - he was fully prepared for this! Once it's clean, it will be in top condition for the makeshift study group to use and everything!

First things first, he's going to straighten up all these desks. Why are they even all upside down like this?]



[Sauna]

[A sauna... doesn't sound like such a bad idea, actually. As long as there's not some awful twist where it cooks you alive. He doesn't approve of there being a mixed room at all, but adults can do what they want... He'll just have to come back later and put a note on the door discouraging anything dirty.

For now he's going to explore the locker room, taking note of just how many lockers are in here, and trying to find the one with his own name on it. ...Well, there should be two as long as his other self is here, so he might as well find both of them.]



[Ball Pit]

[Ishimaru led a very sheltered childhood.

As such, he has no idea what to make of the massive ball pit on this floor. Part of him wants to step out into it just to see how deep the mess goes, but... He's going to linger on the staircase for a while anyway. He'll have to ask whoever passes by what the heck it's even supposed to be.]



[Elsewhere]

[So maybe Ishimaru's studying in the reference library instead, or in the dorm hallways, or in his own dorm, or eating in the cafeteria. Or on any of the other floors you'd like to run into him on. I am flexible.]

[He furrows his brow in deep thought, then reaches out. TIME TO... TEST THIS... His hand hovers over Tohko's head--

and he decides that nope, he can't do it. The hand is instantly at his side again.]

I think we should stick with motivational speeches.

[Tohko sighed when he failed in trying to give her a headpat and gave him one instead.]

Well..sometimes those will work, but headpats do help too. See? Don't you feel a bit better after one?

Well... Your efforts are appreciated, at the very least...

[Tohko sighed again as she let her arm fall to her side.]

I'm glad that they are..but if you don't want me to give you headpats, I won't.

[He very belatedly realizes that maybe being so difficult doesn't lend itself very well to new friendships. What... does?]

Amano-kun... do you... study anything?

[NO, THAT DOESN'T WORK EITHER.]

[Tohko had to hold back a chuckle as she replied. However, she couldn't hold back a grin. Kiyotaka, you are reminding her of Waver, in some regards.]

Of course! I am the book girl for a reason, you know!

[Oh wow, he can't believe that actually worked.]

Is that so? Ha ha ha! Then we have something in common!

[Just goes to show that Tohko's not exactly all with it either.]

Oh, really?! Do you enjoy stories too?

As in fiction? ...I can't say I've read very much.

[Besides short stories for school assignments and whatever.]

[And that gets you a surprised look from Tohko. It's not good to mention that around Tohko.]

What is the use of a story?

[LEGITIMATE QUESTION TIME. This'll go well.]

There are dozens of uses for stories! They can give people hope, save lives, give despair, have people understand situations that they might have never encountered or could never encounter, help people better get along with each other, point out flaws in systems, give people a few chuckles..there are a million uses for stories!

[Tohko wasn't called the book girl for nothing. She gushed as she spoke.]

[Ishimaru's expression makes a pretty dramatic change from seriousness to one full of wonder and awe.]

R...Really...!? All this time, I never paid them any thought!! What was I thinking, to ignore something so useful!?

That's incredible! No, it's truly amazing! ...Amano-kun, will you help me pick out a book?

[tohko_amano]

[And Tohko's grin just gets wider, like a kid in a candy store telling the younger ones which ones are the best.]

You really should have! Books are wonderful! Even if you don't use them as tools, they're still great to enjoy! And of course I'll help you pick out a book! Tell me, have you ever read The Little Prince?

I have not! So should I begin with that one?

Oh, you definitely should! It's a bittersweet, heartwarming tale that will have you smiling and crying buckets at the end!

After that, you should take a look at The Master and Margarita, The Snow Goose, No Longer Human..and any other book you can get ahold of in the library!

[He makes a note to write this down later.]
