Angels and fairies
Characters: Enoch and anyone
Setting: Floor 86, may span out into multiple floors.
Format: Doesn't matter!
Summary: Enoch decided to take a look at the new floors. And then he encountered a Weeping Angel.
Warnings: ...it's a Weeping Angel. And this is the fairy meadow floor. Watch out for those fairy circles! Any and all characters in this log may die
Enoch had seen the extra buttons in the elevator and decided to go exploring after breakfast. So after the, uh, rather sweet and very pink breakfast, Enoch took the elevator back up to the dorm floors and, cloak around his shoulders but pushed back like a cape, he set off down the stairs, into new territory.
It was largely uneventful. That is, until he hit the summery meadow. He didn't realize it wasn't another power-loss floor, and while he was wary of it, something out there caught his attention. A winged stone figure. Tentatively, though he feared traps, Enoch stepped off the stairs and began to make his way towards it curiously. And then he realized there were mushrooms here growing in a perfect circle. How strange. Enoch knelt down to examine them for a moment.
...Was someone watching him? Enoch stood up and looked around again. Strange, wasn't that angel statue hunched over a moment ago...?
Maybe he should get out of here. He turned to leave, and when the feeling came back stronger than ever he began to run.
It was a flash of movement in front of him, and Enoch skidded to a halt so quickly he fell, luckily keeping him from meeting its eyes. He scrambled to his feet and ran a short distance away, looked over his shoulder. ...and stared. It didn't move. Until he blinked, and the distance between them was cut in half.
...Okay. Okay that was its game. Enoch would just...start trying to edge around it...
Is anyone here to help? Anyone fae-savvy enough to let him know he's about to step into a fairy circle?
Or will you leave him to be distracted by the fae for the split second it would take for the Weeping Angel to kill him?

"And it's unlike any angel I know. I think it only moves when you aren't looking..."
no subject
..Then what Enoch said really clicked into place.
"Enoch..I think this is a monster that only attacks when we aren't looking. As long as we keep staring at it, we'll be fine. We just need to get out of here and avoid the fairy rings."
no subject
"...perhaps if we retreat one at a time. One person can remain to watch the monster."
That would take them at least to the staircase, but once they'd left the floor...
no subject
"Well, I'm not surprised. The stories that have them are a bit ahead of your time. But that does sound like a good plan."
Tohko started to stare at the statue, waving Enoch along.
"You'll go first, alright? I'm good at staring contests, so don't worry about me."
..That was a half-lie. She could handle most staring contests, but she was probably underestimating how dangerous this statue was.
no subject
"Tohko, I've got it, hurry to me!" he called, backing up onto the steps. He had no idea which way to go. Upstairs to the known safety of the dorms, but a long climb, or downstairs to possible, but unknown, safety of another kind?
no subject
"Alright then! Thank you!"
..To be honest, Tohko didn't really mind which floor they headed onto next, as long as it provided them some safety for a few minutes. She had notes she needed to show Enoch.
no subject
"Which way did you come from?"
no subject
"I came from upstairs, but we can go whichever way you want."
no subject
"It's best to go for the safety of the rooms. Even when some of the fiery dogs were loose in the halls they never entered the rooms. I think they're protected."
Enoch took Tohko's hand and stepped up onto the stairs.
"I'll lead you - follow without looking back. Close only one eye at a time. Is that all right with you?"
no subject
"Alright then. The dorm rooms should be safe..and that's fine with me. I won't fully close my eyes! Don't worry..I'll be alright."
..Or so she said. She probably would be, but who knew if that statement would hold true in the future?

She was not going to lose here, right when they were so close.
Let's hear it for the monster-free floors! /throws another thing to scare them in
But so the slow chase continued, with the two switching off as they needed. Up through the smoky bar, through the hotel lobby and the lagoon. Aside from a moment where the monster was incidentally delayed by a drone in the hotel, it stayed perpetually just around the corner.
The empty floor, the tomb, through the hallway...up through the ball pit, the blindingly white room...
Where there had been nothing but an endless expanse of skyscrapers in all directions when Enoch had been coming down, a noise drew his attention...and his stare.
A giant Miniblin was climbing the side of a skyscraper.
...despite Enoch taking his eyes off the staircase, the angel didn't actually seem to be following them.*
Huzzah!~ And yay for more things to scare them and possibly kill them!
"Enoch..we should probably move on before that thing attacks."
no subject
Enoch looked up at the staircase above them then, leading Tohko along a little faster. If it was leaving them alone, he wasn't going to complain!
no subject
"I don't know..maybe it grew too. Don't monsters in here grow rather large?"
no subject
He falls silent as he leads Tohko back up, through the floor with the pipes, and to the floor with the crystals...where his armor finally reforms.
Enoch looks down at himself before letting go of Tohko's hand. So the monster itself nullified powers...
"...I suppose if it's grown, it can't fit through the stairs."
no subject
Tohko quickly followed, still looking down the stairs as they ran through several rooms. It was only when Enoch let go of her hand that she looked up at him. However, she smiled at the thought of a large monster smashing through the whole Tower.
"That's true, I suppose..unless it manages to shrink somehow..but we're probably alright for the moment."
no subject
Finally, he seemed to relax, looking up at the crystals on the ceiling. The relief of being safe came before any other efforts.
no subject
Tohko grinned as she pulled two notes out of her pocket and showed them to Enoch.
"I got these awhile ago..it looks like everything's okay, for the moment!"
no subject
"He got to them first...he found them first..."
no subject
"He did Enoch, he did! Everything's alright. There was nothing to worry about..he's going to be alright."
no subject
He was silent for a little while, letting the fear drain from him. And then he thought to say:*
I wonder how he knew...
no subject
I think..it was because he managed to grab the notes before Ruana saw them. Riki manages the records, right? Think back to the video. Riki and Dax were shown together before Ruana showed up. Riki must have passed the notes to him and then never mentioned them to Ruana. Perhaps she can't see everything that goes on with the rest of the Administrators.

...Did you see what happened at the wedding, when I tried to bring up her earlier conversation with us?
