1st Call

Summary: Lucifel's first day in the tower, he awakens to find out that there is something not quite right with him...
Warnings: None at the moment.

[Sleeping was something Lucifel has never done before in his life since he was created by God. So it's a great surprise for him to find himself lying in a bed and especially being somewhere that is neither Heaven nor Earth. Well, as surprised as he could be.

When he was finally able to move he feels the collar around his neck, trying with all his strength to get it off but fails. Not even a second later his eyes are staring at himself. Heaven, whoever made him wear this suit has not even the slightest sense for fashion... where are his clothes anyways? His cellphone seems to be gone as well.

The archangel then notices two letters, both were directed at him. The one that said that his home world got destroyed just got a look of disbelief from him. Sure, whatever makes the one who sent this happy. The other he found just as hard to believe. Then again, who would make such a joke?

At least one thing was true. The trunk had all of his belongings inside, his clothes, which he quickly changed back into, and even his cellphone. Said phone is shut off for a reason unknown to him and he couldn't make it work either. He would figure something out later and slides his phone into the right back-pocket of his jeans.

Lucifel lifts his left hand, he wouldn't stay here longer than necessary, then flicks his fingers to get himself home.

Nothing happens.]

You must be kidding me...

[He gives it one, two, three more tries and he is still here. Alright. Looks like he is forced to take a look around.

Honestly, he is not amused.]

I'm not used to others touching me whenever they please. It has nothing to do with you, if you were thinking that.

Were anyone else to touch me I wouldn't be as calm.

[Yes, if it were anyone but Enoch - and Michael or maybe the other Archangels - he would react totally different.]

Enoch relaxes visibly, resuming eating what Lucifel hadn't.*

I'm sorry. I thought it was...selfish of me.

[Yes, being all stiff and uncomfortable is considered being calm still in his opinion, it sounds strange but it's true.]

Selfish? You?

*Enoch nods.* For not...taking my hand away when I saw you weren't comfortable.

You thought so? I got the impression that you were being a bit stubborn.

[He's amused. Has there ever been a time where Enoch has acted selfish?]

*Enoch's sheepish smile turns a little guilty.*

I only wanted the contact...I've missed you, after all.

Enoch. I'm not planning to go anywhere.

*It doesn't mean he can't leave...or that Enoch himself won't get pulled away from him.*

[So much doubt... it can't be helped. This Enoch hasn't completed his journey yet.]

*This Enoch has spent over half a year in this tower, and has buried someone else who promised to be there for him forever, and who he promised such in return.*

[Little does he know about that though. Either way, Lucifel didn't plan on going anywhere in the near future. Except on getting out of here there wasn't much he wanted to do.]

*Enoch looks over at Lucifel after he's finished eating.* ...I can tell you more about this tower. What have you already learned?

Not much yet. Feel free to tell me more about it.

I suppose...I should start with our hosts. There are five: Ruana, Jason, Dax, Riki, and Zo. All of them but Zo oversee us in a monthly rotation. It's Ruana's turn now, and it will be Dax's next. She is...difficult to explain. She was once a victim of experimentation, but she took over the tower centuries or even millennia ago, and now runs it on her own whim. She...never seemed to leave the childish state of mind she was in when she faced the experiments.

My, my, if that isn't one of the greatest stereotypes. Someone who had been once a victim becomes the same as the ones who tortured them.

She doesn't realize she's the same, I think. She doesn't "experiment", she "plays". And down where they keep themselves, it is indeed different...Jason presumably collects information while Ruana only entertains herself. But up here, it looks the same to us. She doesn't realize her reality and perceptions aren't everyone's...

*Sound familiar?*

Why, that sounds very familiar to me.

*Enoch hadn't expected most angels to have the self-reflection capabilities of seeing it in themselves...but then, he'd given them all a lesson in that just by existing...

...Unless Lucifel is considering something else entirely, he thinks, which is much more likely. He's had a far richer experience in the world than he'll ever have just by being able to go to the future...*

It does. I think I have read a story with a plot like that during my visits to Earth. I tell you Enoch, humans have written some interesting stories, you might like some of them.

[It sounded much like fiction to him, if not science-fiction and horror.]

*Enoch smiles a little.* The library was once a place I visited often here. I've read a few stories.

All sorts...when everyone can write and paper and ink are in abundance...stories can be so many things. A record of one's ideals and dreams, crafting legend on legend, an examination of life...

...I can't name any one kind.

It is... I wish I had read more in Meridian. The books there were more likely truly books from the future...

*Though Tohko clearly recognized some books in the library so it can't be all that different, can it?*
