[Closed] Finally some good ole Ancestor/Descendent time
Characters: Signless and Karkat
Setting:Signless' Room 01-14
Format: Whateva'
Summary:Karkat and Signless are gonna catch up, perhaps talk about feels. Ya know mutant problems.
Warnings: Umm cussing, R/PG-13
[It had been a while since the older troll had gotten some well deserved rest. It proved that Karkat's suggestion was for the better. However, it wasn't just sunshine and sleepy Z's that followed. Signless had struggled to sleep. Sure he had gotten a decent amount of hours, but his mind was still plagued with unrest. He found that every time he closed his eyes, his mind would be plagued with thoughts of his departed quadrant mate. Though it wasn't simply the sorrow he felt from such her loss. In addition his recent feelings that boarded on pale for a certain blue blood.
After awhile sleep wasn't going to be an option. He woke up to blankets tossed and thrown about, plus a pillow that was clawed beyond something recognizable. It was confusing to say the least how something so minuscule could upset him so and disturb his regular sleeping hobbits. Now he would just have to sleep without a pillow and he hoped that his unrest would subside soon.]

he is not entirely confident in his ancestor's ability to sleep. if there are things plaguing the adult's mind, like Karkat believes to be the case, sleep is not likely going to be easy. stress and uncertainty - as well as obsession - keep people up. Karkat knows this first hand. try being awake for about 700 hours.
honestly, Karkat should just stop. Horuss is likely to cull him on sight nor maim him just a little and Kankri probably doesn't want to see Karkat either. unfortunately, he has a degree of meddling in him. can't really stop himself at this point now either.
that's right. for the last 10 minutes, Karkat has been standing outside his ancestor's door. there's a cup of still hot tea in his grasp - something that should help put the asshole to bed if needed. unfortunately, Karkat is waffling on if he should knock or just walk away...
after a groan, he kicks the door with the toe of his shoe. ]
Ding ding, room service. Now open the door up or suffer the consequences.

Karkat, there was no need for such a rude awakening. I'm assuming you came to check up on me and to make sure I actually slept, yes?
no subject
Just because you are a few fries short of a Grub Meal doesn't mean that I inherited the problem too. Chances are you can't sleep, like I stated before, and I highly doubt you would do the smart thing and start trying shit out until it actually works.
no subject
I did have some troubles sleeping yes. I also no longer have a pillow.... It seems my internal rage likes to extend into my subconscious.
no subject
[ he just kind of blinks for a moment. sure, Karkat's seen the guy irritated. been the victim of his shouting. heck, Signless has even cursed at him once.
but that's not rage. not real rage.
so excuse Karkat a minute as he breaks into a fit of laughter. ]
He just...he always makes things awkward
Oh? Do you forget Karkat that it was my own rage that changed my very title from that of Signless to the Sufferer. That my inner rage cried out a vast expletive as my life slowly left me. Rage that had formed out of torture, disbelief and hate for all that had happened to me once I had been captured.
[A pause.]
I have not experienced my fate, but I know of the story. I do not enjoy being mocked of it Karkat when I am unaware to the extent it harbors within my subconscious. I know it resides there, such a drastic change could not had formed out of thin air.
pretty much
There is a thing called teasing, you realize. Maybe if you take a moment to take the stick lodged up your waste chute and stop being such a bulgehumping dumbshit for a moment, you'd realize that it's not mockery for me to laugh at all. Everyone has rage fits. We're trolls. No one is completely immune to that shit. You're one guy, after all.
But god. Do you not realize the mental image you just gave me? Like an unruly woofbeast tearing apart that pillow in his sleep because he's chasing a hopbeast in his dreams... How the might fuck is that not something to laugh at?
[ Karkat rolls his eyes. now he knows where he gets his own stuck up and obsessive behavior. and maybe the self loathing. just a little. mutant bloods are just fucked up in general. ]
The truth is, I didn't know that much. Your various titles don't exist in history - at least not in any of the schoolfeeding sessions I had. I only knew that my sign isn't a sign. Just a stupid pictograph.

I am sorry for assuming, also for leading this conversation down a path it didn't need to tread down.
[He comes to bring his his head in the hands, calmly rubbing his temples with his thumb and forefinger.]
It is not surprising that such teachings would not be deemed acceptable at your schoolfeeding institution. I would tell you the tale of my time, but I do not know the ending. I only know what has been told to be by my mate.
[Again he takes another sip of the tea.]

[ true story, bro. Karkat kind of thought Signless is way too, hmm. pristine isn't the word he is thinking of, aside from stupid, but it kind of works at the same time. this person who isn't anything like him, save for blood color and this shared trait of actually giving a crap about people. ]
What all did you even do that would ensure erasure from the history feeds?
no subject
[A pause.]
I do not see how being equal, no longer wishing to live in slavery, and to be free from oppression was something so horrifying for her.
no subject
[ and maybe he secretly kind of admires how she can get people to do stuff for her despite all of that. 8V ]
no subject
[Sometimes he feels like a broken record, more so now in animus then before.]
no subject
[ a small smirk. totally teasing on this next part. ]
Or is it that you have a black inclination and do not recognize it?
no subject
I do not have that. I can assure you. I do not even think calignious feelings is something I can feel for others. While Disciple and I shared a love that transcended the bounds of all quadrants. Anything close to black would nothing more then the occasional fight.
no subject
[ he let's that one die though, shrugging his shoulders. dammit, Eridan. he's picking up your bad habits. ]
None of that past stuff really matters anymore, though, does it? It's all gone now.
no subject
I do not want to think that way, but...I see what you mean.
[Karkat was right. Right about many things, but the past didn't really matter here. In order to be happy and survive he would have to move on. Simply take one day at a time.]
no subject
In the end, anything you want to protect? You won't be able to if you can't keep yourself together.
no subject
I am just not certain what to do about the current situation.
no subject
[ Karkat, for once, isn't all defensive in the guy's presence. actually a little more relaxed than he had been in the past. it has more to do with the fact that at least the moron had admitted Karkat was right, in part. funny how congenial he can be when he's not being torn down left and right. ]
Break it down into one thing at a time? What did you do when shit hit the whirling device back in your era?

[A pause.]
I think this situation is that of my own problem. It is one simple problem and thus making it complicated. The thought of a moirail, it is not something I am used to.

[He takes another sip of his tea and frowns at the cool temperature.]
He has become a good friend of mine, during my stay here. I do find myself worrying about what my best friend will think, if we are to form a quadrant. However I will let myself be concerned by it, if and when it happens.

Not to mention you really should talk to the Zahhak about it. People have feelings and apprehensions, even if he is flashing the diamonds all over the place without regard to any sort of unspoken PDA rules.
