Summary: After Rei's network post, Rei's gonna gather some friends to eat popcorn with while enjoying the network chaos

1. All over the Tower

Rei can be spotted on any one of the "outdoor" floors, skipping around happily and peering around for anything that resembles corn. She's really excited for finally getting friends to enjoy something with.

2. Kitchen/Closed to Maya and Chidori

Sadly, there seemed to be no corn in the Tower...yet. But Rei has a backup plan. If there's no popcorn, then make cookies! With that thought, she bounces into the kitchen.

[Rei doesn't know what to say to that, as she had chosen to participate in her first experiment.]

Maybe next time they should make a sign-up sheet. I'd sign up. I'm pretty hard to hurt, after all.

Most of us here don't want to be experimented on. But if you want to make the suggestion, go ahead. I doubt they'll listen.

...did you really request popcorn?

[terreifying]

Not yet. But I really should. It seems lots of people wanna eat some and I couldn't find corn anywhere.

[floreatnoctem]

I hope they don't wind up giving it to you in an unpleasant way.

[terreifying]

How can corn be unpleasant? Unless each other the kernels held some sort of alien baby?

[floreatnoctem]

You would be surprised.

[Pause, blink.]

...though that doesn't sound like a half-bad idea. Hope they didn't hear it.

[terreifying]

Well, even if they did hear it, would they remember all of it?

[floreatnoctem]

Who knows? I never really understood how they come about their punishments for people.

[terreifying]

Were you ever punished? I haven't been so I don't really know how appropriate the punishments are.

[floreatnoctem]

If I ever was, I never took into consideration the fact that it might not just be another part of whatever experiment was going on.

[terreifying]

[She nods, and cracks some eggs into another bowl.]

Has there actually been anyone who got punished?

[floreatnoctem]

[She pauses in mixing her own ingredients to consider, biting her lip.]

...my brother.

[terreifying]

...Oh.

[She falls silent for a long while, focusing on just the ingredients.]

Is he alright now?

[floreatnoctem]

He is... back to normal, yes.

[Though 'normal' for any member of Strega is relative.]

What they did still bothers him though. I can tell.

[terreifying]

At least...he has you still, right?

[floreatnoctem]

Mmm... though goodness only knows for how long, with the way people come and go here.

[terreifying]

I've never...had anyone precious to me leave yet.

[And she can't imagine having them being there one day and gone without a trace the next. At least if they died, she could know for sure where they had gone.]

...it's not pleasant.

[At least, it wasn't for Chidori.]

I'd have been alright with it if we'd all left together, I think.

Do you think everyone who leaves...goes to the same place? That would be nice, wouldn't it? Even if it's a bad place, you still have the people you love.

[floreatnoctem]

No, perhaps they don't. But I would like to think that if the worlds they are from are similar enough, the ones who send them back wouldn't care to differentiate enough for it to matter.

[terreifying]

That's a nice thought.

[Well, not exactly nice. Just not as depressing as it could have been.]
