Setting: Part 1: Room 2-06 during the morning after Valentine's Day, Part 2: The cafeteria
Format: Action Brackets!!
Summary: First part is Luffy is waking up and discovering his current whereabouts, the second half is Luffy doing what he does best
Warnings: Hilarious-ness?

Part 1:
[It had been a good rest, or at least it felt like one. As his eyes slowly opened, Luffy sat up and rubbed the sleep from his view. It took a moment or two to kick in that he wasn't where he remembered falling asleep, but this kind of thing had happened before.

Noticing that there were three other beds, Luffy got to his feet and buzz-lined over to each of them. Taking hold of whomever may be trying to rest, the young pirate shook them in order to wake them abruptly.]

"HEY! ZORO! USOPP! SANJI! WAKE UP!!"

Part 2:

[With what little information he had been given, he had miraculously found the cafeteria. Not the best with navigating, Luffy cried out with joy and awe as he rushed into the mess hall with high hopes.

Lines didn't seem to concern him, simply walking up to the front and grabbing whatever portions of oatmeal he could get into his arms. There's quite a ruckus in the proceeding, a bit of barking on Luffy's end as he argues with the chefs lack of meat at the present time. Satisfied in the short term with his haul, he made his way to the closest seat and began to gorge himself on the nurishing gruel. He isn't the most plesant site to see while he eats, but there is something comical about how frantic he eats. He'll ocassionally look up at those who pass by, nodding his head in greeting.

Every once in a while, his arm will unnaturally stretch out and snag a bowl of oatmeal from across the room. He thieves the oatmeal in timed grabs, watching the kitchen staff carefully to make sure they don't see him. For everyone else in the cafeteria, he doesn't seem to give any sort of care.]

[He keeps his head down, ashamed to even look at his room mate.]

"Yeah.. Sure.."

[He clasps his hands together, wincing as the air itself stung his open wounds.]

[Suzaku nodded softly, feeling bad for him. It was a lot to take in.] You will get used to things soon, it will just take a while to adapt.

[Frowning, Luffy speaks in a childish voice.]

"How long'd it take you then?"

[Suzaku shrugged] A week or so, though things change often and it sometimes means adapting all over again.

"And why am I here? Who's running this place? Is it a prison or something?" [His voice is a bit rushed, growing frantic and angry once more at the thought of some one trying to contain him.]

Sort of... They claimed they saved us, and so they claim that performing experiments on us, or torturing us is a method of payment. It is ran by five administrators, they are extremely powerful.

"So all I've gotta' do is kick their asses and we're home free, right?"

[He says it as if it were an absolute answer to everything. Confident, sure, and determined.]

Something like that. [He looked at him with sad eyes.] For now we can get you food, one step at a time.

"Yeah.." [He keeps his head down, remaining silent for the rest of their ride in the elevator. His heart sinking with every moment passing, what more could he say or ask?]

[Suzaku stood awkwardly for a moment before speaking.] What's your name?

"Luffy.. Monkey D. Luffy. I'm the man who's going to be King of the Pirates."
[His fists tighten, blood dripping on to the floor of the elevator.] "And you..?"

King of the pirates? [An interesting title.] I'm Suzaku Kururugi.

"Koo roo roo gee? That's a funny name."

Suzaku just nodded, his time in the Britannian army meaning he was plenty used to people struggling with his name or finding it strange. At least he was pretty certain it was just a case of being from another world and that Luffy meant it innocently enough.

"You can call me Suzaku if that's easier."

"Zoo Sack Ooo. Got it!"

[I've got nothing on this one. It'll take him some time to get the pronunciation right. Just give it some time.]

[He just nods.] Exactly.

"Wow.. Suzaku, huh?"

[His face goes blank, as if the name itself was causing his brain to go into overload.]

"What does "Suzaku" mean?"

It's a figure from legend. A phoenix. Does your name mean anything?

"Hmmm.. Nope. Luffy just means Luffy. Monkey means Monkey and D means D."

Oh... Well that was simple enough... "Does D not stand for anything?"

I dunno! My brother and my Pops, even my Grandpa have a "D" in their name!

So it runs in the family... That's a meaning in itself I guess.

"Sure. So we're room mates, huh? Do you snore, or keep food under your matress?"

Neither, at least no one has ever told me I snore.

That's good! I guess we'll get along great then!
