Goodbye my only friend [Closed - backdated to yesterday]
Characters: Felix and Sheba
Setting: Floor 25
Format: First unless you really wanna use third.
Summary: Sheba is still under the influence of the music and wanting to protect Felix. But today, Felix heard a tape and is suddenly about to feel quite scorned and hurtful. This will not end well...
Warnings: Apparent reciprocation of thefandumb obsessing, followed by cruelty and character death. Because we've waited this long to be awful.
[For the last two days, Felix had been growing more and more concerned about Sheba. He had finally narrowed down that this was possibly some effect of this place, and was hoping to try to talk some sense into her. She had been insistent on getting him some "fresh air", though, so he had finally agreed to meet her again on that floor where he had seen the meadow.
Yes, his intent had started out purely enough. But, while on his way, he had passed a strange box that was playing even stranger music. He hadn't seen anything like this yet, so he had no idea items like these had been in the tower for two days. Nor did he realize the effect it would have on him once he ran into Sheba.
For now, he entered the meadow and looked around to see if she was already there. If not, he was just going to wait for her. He definitely had to talk to her, after all.]

She arrives at the meadow shortly after he does, and instantly the worry melts away from her face. He's here. Smiling, she darts up behind him and wraps her arms around him, just so she can confirm it.]
You made it!

The thought, while seemingly coming out of nowhere, felt completely logical to him. She had no right. Not after what she had done to him. For her to continue acting like this was disgusting and filled him with loathing. He wanted her to suffer too, to make her feel his own pain tenfold.
But he'd have put her through worse than she had put him through to make it truly hurt. So that meant building her up more than she was once again attempting on him. The higher they are, the harder they fall. And he wanted one of her falls to really hurt for once.
After coldly thinking of this for a few seconds, his face softens into a small smile, though a careful examination of his eyes would show no real warmth there. He puts his arms around her too and pulls her toward him.]
Of course I did. How could I ever disappoint you...

[Her hold on him tightens a little. The thought of anything bad happening to Felix makes her feel ill - she has to protect him. Has to! Life wouldn't be worth living if he weren't safe and sound...]
This floor is safe, but you can't get here without passing through some dangerous ones. I should have thought about it better, I'm sorry...
[She finally loosens her hold on him so that she can reach up to affectionately brush some of his hair away from his face.]
But I guess it's okay, because you made it here safely. Still, I'll think of a better way next time, alright?
no subject
He still leaves his arms around, not flinching in the least as she touches his hair. He just looks down at her, his smile not changing.]
It's fine, Sheba. We both made it here, so that didn't hurt me in the slightest. You certainly wouldn't want that, would you?
[Enjoy the bait...]

[She's completely sincere - though with Felix's altered mental state, it would probably come off as more hypocritical than anything else. But she's not yet aware of the way his smile isn't quite right, and she hasn't been scanning his mind, so there's nothing to tip her off that something has gone terribly wrong.
Her hand rests on his cheek and she smiles softly.]
I know this is strange to say, but I'm really glad you're here. It's not as safe for you as I'd like, but... at least we're together.

Felix runs his first two fingers down her cheek gently, resting them on her shoulder.]
I know you are. You really do worry needlessly, though.
no subject
But I...
[She sighs, knowing from the way her cheeks were heating up that she was blushing but not really being able to do anything to stop it.]
You've done so much for me already... I want to be able to do something for you, too.
no subject
But you've already done quite enough, Sheba.

[She bites her lip. The more she thinks about it, the worse she feels - Felix has done so much for him, but what can she do in return? Keeping him safe from harm here is only the beginning of repaying the all that she owes him.]
I mean, I should be doing more for you. This place is terrible... there has to be something I can do to make it at least a little better for you! You deserve to be happy...
