Characters: Anyone (Animus and Destiny Strings)
Setting: All the levels, with the cafeteria, stairs and the dorms as the safe zones. You can find more about the event here. Remember the stages of insanity for the Animus characters!
Format: Any, start your open posts.
Summary: The tower appears to be overcome with a strange mist.
Warnings: general horror warnings for now
A strange, primordial scream. Perhaps something that didn't seem too out of place for this tower, yet there was something...off about it.
Then came a small series of rumblings. Something was stirring up in the tower. Thankfully the dorms seemed seemed fine. It was when you started to walk down that you realized something was wrong. There was dark mist everywhere. It wasn't natural. Even with a light, it was hard to see past the staircases into the levels, causing even more confusion. Thankfully, the stairs seemed to be safe and if you walked down the entire hundred levels, you'd notice that the cafeteria was safe too.
But that seemed to be it. Everywhere else, the mist was thick and seemed to hang on to the clothing and hair.
Then another noise rings out in every corridor, a laughter musical but somehow diabolical, not quite male nor female, asking a single question;
"Are you enjoying yourself?"
It looked like someone was wanting to play a little game with you.

Romeo, come on, cut it out--! I don't know what's gotten into you, but I'm not in any danger! There's nothing bad about...
[The phrase the boy had used rings a little deeper than before. The bad people... the administrators, right? What did the administrators have to do with it? Were they the ones who brought Mary here? Or---
It's enough of a break of thought that the views of Hod shift to something grim and dark, a twisted shape of a monster flickering nearby. Guy starts, taking Romeo's wrist and yanking him to the side, twisting back with a hand to the hilt of his sword.
But the words of his sister, chiding his timidity, get him to shake his head and fist a hand through his hair. Another glance up and the Isle of Hod was once again visible, the ghostly images of Mary and his close friends looking at him with worried and confused eyes.
He grimaces, shoving Romeo away from him as he looks at his loved ones and then back to the young boy who clearly didn't belong.
...]
Leave, Romeo. I... you're not safe here.

Guy wasn't listening to him at all, he believed what the bad people were showing him. So this time he focused on the monsters. Diving at the one nearest to Guy.] Leave him alone!

Romeo...! Hey, hey, no, stop that--!
[His arm reaches out to grab the young boy by the shoulder, attempting to whip him away from his target. The monster itself lets out a shuddering groan, reaching out towards both with withered hands - ones which Guy clearly cannot see]

Expression set with a thin frown, Guy strides right over to the boy and grabs the back of his head with one hand, fisting his fingers into his hair and yanking him up to look in his direction.]
If you're going to cause this kind of mess, then you're the one that needs help. Not me.
Get out of here.

I'm going to have Guy get killed within the next couple tags, if that's alright.
[His expression suddenly shifts, face drawing up as if he's been struck. His grip on the boy loosens as he turns, a pained expression, trying to see where the sudden grasp of pain had come from...
A flicker of darkness. Twisted shapes. Were those monsters?
No. No, all that were around him were... were people. His sister, his family... Right?
Mary scolds him for his hesitancy. He winces, whispering an apology. If Romeo were to glance up, he would see a centaur; a mangled mess of limbs with acidic fluid dripping from its mouth, some already spat in the blonde's direction and burning against his right shoulder. The creature gives an unearthly grumble in the back of its throat, dragging itself from the ceiling to the nearest wall with a remarkable speed.
Guy himself remains oblivious.]
sob yep thats fine
if you have any squicks now would be the time to announce them
[He attempts to sidestep the boy with a firm hand against his shoulder, shooting a quiet apology to the hallucination of his sister.]
My eyes are... Romeo, come on, what the hell are you trying to--
[His sight flickers again as he grapples with the child. The centaur has reached the floor and is advancing like some ungodly form of spider, arms and fingers splayed and all of its mouths screeching, dripping with acid.
This time, Guy can see it. If it isn't obvious enough when his face goes white.
Even though the surroundings of Hod return soon after, his sword is quickly drawn, the blonde trying to ignore the confused murmurings of the townspeople around him. He couldn't get the vision to stop... no matter how hard he focused, he couldn't...]
Romeo! I need you to tell me where it is, what it's doing! I can't see it!
[The creature snarls at both, leaping into the air with dozens of claws outstretched.]
no squicks here
wooo okay then
Void Tempest!!!
[The attack barely hits its mark, severing one of the centaurs limbs and earning everyone in the room a bloody howl. But the creature's jump isn't misguided, and the bulk of the centaur's weight hits Guy square in the chest, knocking him to the ground. There's barely a cry out of the blonde's mouth before teeth dig into flesh and acid starts to burn through cloth and skin and muscle alike, claws digging through his shoulders and abdomen as soon as they possibly can.
At the same time, an outstretched limb grapples for Romeo's legs, attempting to drag him by the ankle for yet another meal. Yes, the boy was smaller. But food was still food.]

The wavering arms back away. The little one wasn't worth it yet. Maybe if it stuck around. But there was enough meat on this kill to last the centaur for many hours.]
