Summary: Followup to this post. John managed to catch the soul extraction process on tape. Not wanting to expose himself any more than necessary, he avoided sharing it on the network and instead put note in everyone's mailbox. Now he's waiting to see if anybody responds.
Warnings: Probably just language

[Just as his note detailed, John can be found in the middle of the meadow floor between 1pm and 4pm on March 1st-3rd.]

[Not wanting to waste any time, he decides to train his Litwick and Zorua while waiting for people to show up by pitting them against one another in a play-battle. Yeah...experience gainage will be a slow process this way. He'll have to go monster hunting later. His Dusknoir floats at his side, arms crossed over his chest as he watches over the fight.]

[Now hopefully anybody who's here about the tape will be able to recognize him based on the dumb little doodle on his note...]

[She chuckled slightly and nodded, pausing where she stood.]

I would like to see it at work, yes. It ... could be informative.

Mmmhmm. Yeah. This is kind of one of those things where it makes more sense if you see it with your own two eyes.

[He holds his Pokegear out to her, the video paused but otherwise ready to go.]

Tap the screen whenever you're ready. When we start chasing after the robot though, you can just turn it off. I left it rolling a little too long and there's not much to see after that.

It does make sense already, in principle. However, I would prefer to have seen it myself.

[She tapped the screen herself, starting to watch some of the footage. Seeing the process of the soul being extracted from the body made her run her fingers under her chin and a curious look reach her eyes.]

What... did you learn, other than seeing the way they ressurrect us here?

Well...we learned that sometimes those of us who have been assigned to tower jobs can be brought to the administrative floors to fulfill those duties against our wills. Like...they literally kind of brainwash you. What else...

[He scratches his chin.]

Jason is the one who puts our souls back into our bodies and Ruana has shit taste in bedroom decor. But you didn't hear that last one from me. [He was totally not in her room, nope.]

... you have been inside their rooms. I would prepare myself for a reprisal at some point. Gods rarely take well to that sort of invasion, whether real or fake.

There is a morgue within the admin floors then?

[ghostytrainer]

Oh trust me, I am. Especially after what she did the other day... Hence why you didn't hear that from me. [With any hope, she'll never find out exactly WHO was down there and where they were.]

I don't know that I would say morgue. Unless there was one in one of the other admin areas. See...we kind of split up when we got down there. Five quarters, five groups. Then later we came back together and went down ANOTHER elevator that took us to the processing room where I got the video.

[He shakes the Pokegear a little before pocketing it.]

Which is where I would say the closest thing to a morgue was. Once they take the souls out they just kind of...throw all the bodies together in this giant...container. [He can't help but shudder just thinking about it. Mostly because he was literally IN said container.]

[She got a nasty smirk on her face as she glanced at him.]

You didn't happen to see yourself, or part of yourself, did you? That would be a definite proof of sorts to me that they were using such a crude method.

[Yeah, she had a bit of a nasty sense of humor... pretty much always.]

[He pales ever so slightly. The look that momentarily crosses his face clearly answers her question without him even having to say anything.]

I did, yeah. Pieces, to be exact.

[He doesn't want to think about it. Seeing his own severed head was pretty much awful. But not as awful as the knowledge of knowing exactly WHAT Rose did to him after decapitating him.]

So... they remain behind for at least that long. I wonder if they suffer rigor mortis like a normal body, or if we only look like ourselves.

[She smiled a low, cunning smile as she looked at him. It was the sort of smile that told him she'd seen him like that, and she knew exactly how he'd gotten like that.]

You've been very informative... John was it? Rose spoke highly of you.

[John may be a little dense at times, but he understands the implications of, not only Chloe's smile, but also the comment about Rose speaking highly of him. He can put two and two together.]

Yeah, that's right. My name is John. And it's no problem, I'm happy to help out.

[And now there is a huge awkward elephant in the room and John's not sure how to address it. Or even if he wants to.]

Other than being sure that I know now how death works here, I am not sure how much it really changes for me... Death is kind of meaningless when you are already dead. Moreso here.

So, I suppose the question I might ask now is... what do you plan to do with the little secrets you've just gained? It was an... enlightening week after all.

[Somehow, she didn't sound like she was just talking about the sojourn down below.]

Well...for starters I'm going to start training myself. In nearly fifteen years of being alive, the amount of time I've had to actually fight for myself amounts to a couple of hours. Which...isn't exactly great for a place like this, I think you will agree.

[Nope. Not touching any other implications she may or may not have made. He really doesn't want to talk about what Rose did to him.]

I would. This place is full of predators and risks. And, however much you might wish to, the admins will not let you hide in the dormitories forever. How will you learn, though?

I have a couple of people who said they would be willing to help me out and teach me a few tricks. And I'm going to give my weaker Pokemon some more serious training from here on out. The admins might have the ability to seal them if they want, but that doesn't mean I should stop using them all together.

[He's got this aaaaaaall figured out, yup.]

Pokemon... these creatures you travel with? Rose had some too the other day... I take it that you actually train them to fight?

[ghostytrainer]

[John nods.]

Yup! Raising and training Pokemon was pretty much the whole point of the world Rose and I were brought to before this one. And we were lucky enough to get to keep some of them here.

huh... What, if you don't mind me asking, are these able to do? I only briefly saw Rose's at work, and she was not herself at the time...

[ghostytrainer]

All sorts of things. Depends on which species you're talking about. The big guy here [He gestures to the Dusknoir still floating next to him.] is a ghost-type so he can do the sort of things you would expect from a ghost. You know, walk through walls, turn invisible, that sort of thing. But he has some pretty nasty punches up his sleeve too. Fire, Thunder, Ice...he can sort of manipulate time and attack in the future. Just...lots of things, basically.

Attack... in the future? How exactly does that work? It sounds as if he has magical powers, but that...

[ghostytrainer]

Yeah, magical powers are basically what they have. [That...really would have been an easier way to say it. Why didn't he think of that?]

The move I was referring to though is called Future Sight. Basically, when he uses it, there's no immediate effect. Literally nothing happens. That can be seen at least! Because a little while later, when the future becomes the present, the target hits by a wave of psychic energy. [Makes sense, no?]

Psychic... that helps to explain it somewhat. It is disconcerting to think that it manipulates time in that fashion, however. Are all of these powers active here then?

[ghostytrainer]

Well if it makes you feel any better, that's the only time manipulation he can do. He can't travel back and forth or freeze time or anything like that. But yes, all my Pokemon kept all their powers here.

Though like I said, the admins can seal them entirely so...there's that.

It does not really improve or worsen my mood. It simply clarifies something for me. And yes, I assume the admins can behave like gods in this world. It helps to explain how they can keep some in this place.

How powerful can these creatures be?

[She idly wondered if he was aware that she was trying to tactically assess their potential threats to herself.]

Well generally speaking, they can be quite powerful. There are some that are basically gods among Pokemon.

I have ... some experience with gods. When you say gods, do you mean things of similar power to what a person would expect?
