Summary: Followup to this post. John managed to catch the soul extraction process on tape. Not wanting to expose himself any more than necessary, he avoided sharing it on the network and instead put note in everyone's mailbox. Now he's waiting to see if anybody responds.
Warnings: Probably just language

[Just as his note detailed, John can be found in the middle of the meadow floor between 1pm and 4pm on March 1st-3rd.]

[Not wanting to waste any time, he decides to train his Litwick and Zorua while waiting for people to show up by pitting them against one another in a play-battle. Yeah...experience gainage will be a slow process this way. He'll have to go monster hunting later. His Dusknoir floats at his side, arms crossed over his chest as he watches over the fight.]

[Now hopefully anybody who's here about the tape will be able to recognize him based on the dumb little doodle on his note...]

Ah, alright then. Hopefully everything will work out in the end then. If you have any relationship problems, me, Rei, and Rise, have a little relationship counseling service open. We can help you out.

Hehe, thanks. Though...hopefully neither Rose nor myself will have to take advantage of your services. No offense or anything.

[He chuckles a little. It's true that since coming to the tower, he and Rose have started getting into serious arguments from time to time but...it's probably just the environment. It'll stop once they're both more comfortable with what they're facing.]

So how long have you been here, Tohko?

[At that, Tohko chuckled a little and nodded.]

Well, hopefully you won't have to, but just in case you run into any trouble, we're always here to help!

And I've been here..for about six months now. How about you?

That's very nice of the three of you to do that for people. Somehow I get the feeling people need it here a lot.

It's been almost three months to the day for me though.

Well..not many people need relationship advice as much as they need other things, but we do try to help! We enjoy it.

You must have shown up in January then..that's good. There were a few terrible events back in October and December that you missed.

Ah no! December was actually when I showed up. December 3rd, to be exact. [Kind of hard to forget the date when it's your best bro's birthday...] I was here for the uh...hallucinating death plague of doom. What happened in October though?

Oh, I'm sorry! It wasn't just hallucinations though..lots of senses were affected by Jason's illness.

[Tohko then sighed.]

Back in October..Ruana put us all in costumes and had us certain amounts of candy, which grew larger as the days went by. If you didn't meet your quota, your costume would crush you, and you would come back as a warped version of that costume.

[Another sigh.]

..I was turned into a homicidal maid, and I killed at least three people before I snapped out of it and realized what was going on. And my best friend's free will was taken away. That broke him, and he still hasn't really recovered.

Christ... [Jesus fuck he was glad he wasn't here for Halloween. That's kind of his favorite holiday and that pretty much would have ruined it for him, honestly.]

[Hell, part of him is now wondering about this upcoming Halloween...are they always that terrible?]

Ruana is really fucked up, isn't she? One of my roommates tried to warn me but...jeez.

[At that, Tohko sighed and tried to smile.]

But you didn't take his warning that seriously, huh? She doesn't understand human emotions or empathy, but yes..she is pretty horrible.

No, I didn't. I mean ever since I got here that's all people have been trying to tell me, you know? Not necessarily about her, but ju=ust how horrible everything in general is and yadda yadda surrender all hope ye who get stuck here sort of doom and gloom stuff.

But who wants to think about that sort of stuff? And without seeing it with your own two eyes it's just...hard to believe that things could really be SO bad.

[Oh the woes of being a die-hard optimist stuck in a horrordeath tower.]

[At that, Tohko's smile grew a little. Guess who was also a hard optimist in the Tower of Terror?]

Well, I wouldn't say that you should surrender hope. After all, there's always bits of it to be found, if you turn on the lights.

But..it's not hard to imagine that things like this could happen and that things could be that bad.

Heh, trust me, I have no intention of giving up hope entirely. Not now, not ever.

I guess...it probably shouldn't have been. I dunno, I guess I just didn't want to imagine it. And that made all the difference.

In any case, we're almost there. Just a few more floors...

Good! I'm glad to hear that. As long as there are stories brimming with hope, I don't intend to give up either.

Right..I can see where you might not want to think that those things were real..but at least you're making a bit of a difference with the right knowledge now.

[She then nodded.]

Alright then. I suspect that it's probably hidden so that most people don't notice it, right?

You would think that but actually it really isn't. Some of the people who went down with me knew exactly what it was, despite never having used it. It's not exactly hidden, just typically unaccessable from what I understand. But when we found it, the door was just...open.

[~~Tower of derps.~~

Tohko looked a little surprised at that, but she nodded after a moment.]

Huh..alright then. Dax must have opened it up for you..but I wonder how some of the others knew?

[He shrugs.]

I couldn't tell you for certain. But the person who told me what it was has been here for a while, I think. So it's possible that something has happened with this elevator in the past?

That is possible. A lot of people have been here even longer than I have, so it's possible that some past even happened that I'm not aware of. Maybe the Administrators had to come up here before and someone saw them.

Maybe! Might be something worth asking around about. Anyway...

[Mun has no idea where the elevator actually is but is going to assume they've been walking long enough. John comes to a stop in front of a closed elevator.]

Ta-da.

I'll have to remember to do so later then..

[Tohko nodded as she looked at the elevator before tapping on it for a minute.]

Right..I guess no rabbit is going to pop out of there..and that no weapon can get through.

[A nod.]

And on top of that, even when it was open, we didn't have any actual control over the elevator. I pressed every button in there but the damn thing didn't move until it felt like it and its destination seemed to be pre-programmed on top of it.

[Tohko's actually surprised by that, but she does nod, thinking.]

I see..I guess Dax programmed it's route for you downstairs then before you got in. I suppose that means you can only operate it if you're near the operating terminals..or if you're really good with electronics.

[He nods.]

That seems to be the consensus. Not that any of us knew it at the time. We just figured the admins got careless or something. But I think it's safe to say you wold need some kind of super hacker to get into this thing without admin help.

Right...finding a hacker like that shouldn't be too difficult, I should think. Thanks though..this really does help me. Out of curiosity though, what made you think that the Administrators had gotten careless?

Oh well...it's their elevator, right? So they're the only ones who can open it. Actually...I probably should have said "I just figured" not "we just figured", now that I think about it. At the time, I didn't know that Dax was actually a good guy so the possibility of it being done on purpose never crossed my mind.

That's true..but they're pretty careful about things like that here, so a mistake would be weird..and I'm sorry that you had to learn that Dax was on our side at the very end like that.
