Of course she goes to the library first

Summary: Genesis finds the library and disappears into the world of fiction!

Fighting monster had gotten boring, really. While many presented a challenge, she really did not want to keep fighting! So it just so happened that she found the library Tohko had told her about and it was here she stayed for quite some time. Many of these books were just fascinating! Like nothing she had ever seen on Gaia. Genesis had grabbed quite a few, though she doubted she would finish any of them today. Was she allowed to check any out?

Were anyone to find Genesis, they would find her on the floor in the corner of the fantasy section, a couple piles of books next to her and her nose in one of them.

Tohko, being a librarian, spent most of her days cleaning the shelves, putting the books back in their proper places, and sneaking in a nibble or reading when no one else was looking.

However, when she saw Genesis stuck in the fantasy section with a pile of books around her, she couldn't help but smile and walk up to her friend.

"Good morning! I take it you've found quite a few wonderful books to read."

Ah...so this is the library...

[Sola-ui walks into the third floor, looking over the shelves to see which books would be useful to her. She catches sight of the woman sitting by the pile of books.]

These books are...

Genesis had been so into the book that she didn't hear Tohko approach until she spoke which led to Genesis gasping in surprise and nearly dropping her book! She managed to catch it and save the page she was on, coughing lightly to regain her composure. "Oh, yes. Yes, I have."

Pausing for a moment, she gently shut the book after leaving a slip of paper as a bookmark inside of it. "Many of these don't exist on Gaia. Such creative plots that I would have never thought of!"

[She sat leaning against the bookshelves, legs crossed at the ankles and stretched out. It was as she was finishing a book that she caught sight of the other. She closed her book and reached for another, giving the woman a nod in greeting.]

Tohko forced herself to not chuckle at Genesis's surprise..but she did smile at it.

"It's great that you have then!"

Tohko paused for a moment at that second statement. Gaia..so this woman was from the same universe that Sephiroth, Cloud, and her old roommate were from. Huh. Well, she didn't seem like a bad person, so Tohko wasn't suspicious of her. Plus, she loved the books, so that was always a good sign.

"It's good that you get to experience them here then, even though it is a shame that they didn't exist on Gaia. Thousands of tales with hope, joy, despair, glory, honor, traitors, miracles, backstabbing..it's wonderful!"

Genesis was considered a bit of an oddball for loving books so much. One in particular, in fact, but that was her treasure and she kept it in her room. Besides, she doubted the library would somehow have the lost Act of that particular story, anyway.

"I don't know if I could read them all, but I suppose these tales could help me with my time here. Fighting monsters wears on you, even on Gaia."

Tohko was considered an oddball for liking them more than anyone else..but Tohko never really cared, and she was always happy to see fellow book-lovers.

"Fighting is rather exhausting..plus, stories hold quite a few things that fighting would never be able to show you."

[She approaches and picks up a book.]

Are there only fairy tales like these here?

"Except fighting shows you a lot more about humanity than any story could convey," Genesis sighed, looking at the book. "Though I am grateful these stories don't glorify battle."

Fighting was exhausting, but Genesis was a SOLDIER. She wouldn't be able to avoid it.

[She nodded, pointing to the shelves nearby]

The fairy tales are around there, I believe. I've picked up the fantasy and science fictions books mostly.

At that, Tohko sighed and scratched her head.

"..It is good that stories don't glorify them..but I think fighting, in certain conditions, only shows you the darker aspects of humanity. There are some light pieces..but on the whole, it's pretty bitter."

Genesis only shook her head. "I never did say it showed humanity in a good light. But this is perhaps why I like to read these stories. It doesn't just show one side, but both. Good and bad."

And..Tohko actually managed to smile a little bit at that.

"That's true..and stories also show the little grey piece that people sometimes miss."

Fairy tales.

[She repeats her previous assertion. Fiction stories were a waste of time in a place like this.]

Are there any non-fiction books?

....because in the end, how could I resist?

It's always important to check every aisle of the library before settling down at a terminal with your back to them. Monsters, though much less threatening in the daytime can nonetheless lurk in the seemingly less-harmful places. Indeed, only last month the network terminals themselves attracted monsters.

Sephiroth rarely comes to the Library, having recently grown bored of the subjects available on both floors. He wasn't much for fiction and the factual books just didn't hold anything that he found himself in much need to know.

Though he paused at the sight of the redhead sat on the floor in the fantasy section. Of course he recognizes her from the video feed a few days ago, but as he made it clear his memory doesn't quite stretch as far as it should. A delicate silver eyebrow raised at the piles of books around her, before Sephiroth turned his back to carry on his checking of the other aisles.

He didn't even make a noise towards her, only resolved that should any monster be hiding in that aisle; that she would learn of it soon enough.

"The world isn't black and white, a little truth in the story's morality is always nice," Genesis replied.

Oh, I'm sorry. I misheard your question.

[Genesis frowned at the woman, still. And scoffed lightly, going back to her book.]

I don't read non-fiction, so I don't know where they are.

Genesis was actually leaning against a bookshelf, so her back was far from open. However, that didn't mean she didn't check the place out to make sure none of the monsters roamed the area. So far, none have.

At first, she didn't notice Sephiroth. Until he happened to walk past and his silver hair caught her from the corner of her eye. She looked up and turned her head, leaning slightly as Sephiroth walked out of sight.

"Sephiroth?"

At that, Tohko smiled and nodded. "That's true..if you want, I can recommend you a few fantasy stories like that."

I see.

[How frivolous, wasting all that time on non-fiction.]

[She picks up another book, somewhat intrigued by its cover.]

What is this?

[rhapsoidein]

"Hm," She looked at the stack she already had and chuckled lightly. "Perhaps later, when I've finished with what I've chosen for now."

[rhapsoidein]

[She looked over at the book and gave a hum.]

Not quite sure yet, I haven't gotten to it yet. You're welcome to take it, though.

At that, Tohko nodded again and sat across from Genesis.

"Alright then! Do you mind if I read with you for a little while then?"

[She quickly flips through the pages.]

This does not seem to be of much literary merit. Would you mind if I put it back on the shelf?

Genesis smiled at the young woman and nodded. "A fellow reader is always welcome in my eyes."
