THE HERO OF THE IMPERIUM

Characters: Amberley Vail, Commissar Ciaphas Cain, and YOU
Setting: All around the safe floors. The cafeteria, dorms, etc.
Format: Actionspam is cool, threads with cain and amberley will be done separately
Summary: Propaganda is good! Everyone should know that there's a hero among us who stands up for good humans and helps protect them from the tower!
Warnings: Discrimination towards aliens and anything practicing magic. The shoot first, ask questions kind of discrimination.

[ Amberley and Cain can both be found about the tower today, the almost seven foot tall man following behind the smaller woman dressed in his normal military garb with his chainsword at his side. You do get the sense that he's being dragged around by her, mostly because of his stoicism and her cheery enthusiasm make a pretty jarring contrast.

The two each have a stack of handmade flyers they're handing out, which Amberley made with a marker and some scrap paper. Not the most high tech propaganda out there, but it was better than nothing. Everyone who runs into the duo will get one of these.

At least they're trying to help, even if it's in their own horribly misguided way. ]

[Madoka came upon the pair while returning home from an afternoon of light activity and reading. Her mind firmly set on taking a light nap, she really thought nothing of the two women in military garb going about in such a manner Indeed, she really just wanted to get back to her room.

However, being a slightly inquisitive little half-witch, she couldn't help herself from at least asking what they were doing.]

Oh hello! What are you two doing?

[It seems that searching for his Master takes up a good deal of Lancelot's time. The man is easily found, however, as he seems to spend a good deal of his time napping in the Meadow. Lancelot finds nothing to complain of in this, for at least the man is not in danger or likely to become ill in such a place.

He walks the halls to his destination in his dark suit and tie, his sword sheathed and invisible.
But there, at the side of a massive man escorting a younger woman down the hallway, is a sword he recognizes. A "chainsword", the strange Knight had called it.

When a flyer is pressed into his black-gloved hand by the young woman, he inclines his head in greeting.]

Well met.
Tell me, for I cannot say I have heard the words, what is a "xeno"--

[He's knows very well what a "sorcerer" is, being that he himself is the Spirit of a long -dead Hero, summoned by a Magus.]

and what manner of title "commissar" might be.

[Tohko was coming out of the library when she spotted Amberly and her huge friend walking by, carrying some huge stacks of flyers. It was near the fifteenth, and she and Amberly had talked about reading together, so she waved at the two as she walked towards them.]

Good morning, Amberly! What's with the flyers?

Something that seemed like a good idea.

[AKA, something he got roped in on. Oops.]

You could always just read this and see.

That's very nice of you. I'm sure everyone will really appreciate it.

[Still in high spirits, Madoka lowers her gaze and reads the flyer she had been handed. Everything seemed fairly normal, except the small text at the bottom, that bothered her.]

What is a Xeno exactly?

hideandhero: (Or so I thought)

[personal profile] hideandhero 2013-03-14 04:58 am (UTC)(link)
Alien is a term used on more backwards planets. It's pretty outdated.

[Mostly because in galactic terms, it meant anyone not from a certain location. Xeno was the preferred word for 'non-humans', especially when humans occupied most of the galaxy.]

As for Commissar, you could say we're a type of officer that exists outside the chain of command in the Imperial Guard. Our job is to keep up troop morale and make sure orders are followed.

[For several moments, all Diarmuid can do is look at the flyer that has been handed to him. He reads the words over several times and they make no more sense the subsequent times as they did the first. In fact, all reading them over does is further light the rage that is growing inside of him.

A rage he hasn't felt for a very long time and had hoped not to feel again.

What kind of foolishness is this? After all that they have recently learned about this place and their conditions in it, how can anyone be trying to create this type of division among them? And then to dare call themselves heroes?

It is madness. Utter madness.

He looks up at the people who handed him the flyer. They have moved farther down the hallway, but he doesn't move to go after them. His voice, sharp and deadly does the work for him.
]

What the hell do you two think you're doing? Stop this foolishness at once. We are all captive souls here. Magic or not makes no difference. We should be erasing divides not creating them!

[He crumples the flyer into a ball and throws it on the floor, his rage so great he is nearly shaking.]

Oh right! I'm sorry...

[She reads the note.]

I'm not sure I understand, but are there people you wouldn't help even if they were in trouble?
hideandhero: (Do tell)

[personal profile] hideandhero 2013-03-14 05:04 am (UTC)(link)
They were her idea, not mine. She's a bit infatuated with the idea that I'm a hero.

Which, for the record, I don't claim. Everything that happened to give me that title was clearly the result of teamwork, not the work of a single person.
carabina: (blank ✂ what did you say?)

[personal profile] carabina 2013-03-14 05:05 am (UTC)(link)
[ Normally, Mami would be all for people trying to help the others. However, the text at the bottom seems to bother her a lot. Sure, she technically uses magic but she knows how to protect herself. There are people who can use magic but cannot protect themselves. Would they really ignore another person in need just because they use magic? ]

Excuse me? [ She puts a smile on her face. ] I was wondering if you could elaborate more on what you mean by the bottom line. I'm not entirely sure what a "Xeno" is either.
hideandhero: (Do tell)

[personal profile] hideandhero 2013-03-14 05:06 am (UTC)(link)
[Cain doesn't even turn around to look. Instead, he whispers over to Amberley very quietly.]

With that reaction, it's definitely a heretic. Probably the Slaneeshi kind, judging by his looks.
hideandhero: (Son....no)

[personal profile] hideandhero 2013-03-14 05:09 am (UTC)(link)
The kind of people whose sole point of existence was to wipe out humans, yes.
hideandhero: (Do tell)

[personal profile] hideandhero 2013-03-14 05:12 am (UTC)(link)
[That seemed to be a pretty common question. Though, when you come from the year 41,900 and something, you figure the language changed a bit over time.]

Alien is the word used on more primitive planets. Non-human creatures who live solely to wipe humans from the galaxy. That kind of thing.
chevalier_mal_fet: ('twas you saw/this inordinate man)

[personal profile] chevalier_mal_fet 2013-03-14 05:16 am (UTC)(link)
That rank among the Soldiery is unfamiliar to me.

I am aware, however, of the meaning of the word "alien". Thus your reference to your "fellow humans".
On my backwards planet, practitioners of magic are yet human. Why is it that you hold them unworthy of protection?

[At this more conversational distance, Lancelot is able to confirm that this weapon is indeed the same sort he saw in the hand of Garviel Loken. The dislike of Magic is also similar-- though perhaps less leavened by wisdom, in this case.]

That does make more sense. I've actually met an alien before, he wasn't very nice.

I guess it wouldn't make much sense to help the bad guys.

Oh, don't get me wrong. Sanctioned psykers exist and do the Emperor's work. But their soul is bound to the God-Emperor's so those with more inherently evil tendencies can't use them or take them over.

Seeing as I'm pretty sure no one is sanctioned here, you just never know when they might go out of control and have a daemon explode out of their body.
