THE HERO OF THE IMPERIUM
Characters: Amberley Vail, Commissar Ciaphas Cain, and YOU
Setting: All around the safe floors. The cafeteria, dorms, etc.
Format: Actionspam is cool, threads with cain and amberley will be done separately
Summary: Propaganda is good! Everyone should know that there's a hero among us who stands up for good humans and helps protect them from the tower!
Warnings: Discrimination towards aliens and anything practicing magic. The shoot first, ask questions kind of discrimination.
[ Amberley and Cain can both be found about the tower today, the almost seven foot tall man following behind the smaller woman dressed in his normal military garb with his chainsword at his side. You do get the sense that he's being dragged around by her, mostly because of his stoicism and her cheery enthusiasm make a pretty jarring contrast.
The two each have a stack of handmade flyers they're handing out, which Amberley made with a marker and some scrap paper. Not the most high tech propaganda out there, but it was better than nothing. Everyone who runs into the duo will get one of these.

At least they're trying to help, even if it's in their own horribly misguided way. ]

Dorms
However, being a slightly inquisitive little half-witch, she couldn't help herself from at least asking what they were doing.]
Oh hello! What are you two doing?
no subject
Hello! We're just passing out these fliers so everyone knows that they have help if they need it.
[ She hands one over without hesitation. ]

He walks the halls to his destination in his dark suit and tie, his sword sheathed and invisible.
But there, at the side of a massive man escorting a younger woman down the hallway, is a sword he recognizes. A "chainsword", the strange Knight had called it.
When a flyer is pressed into his black-gloved hand by the young woman, he inclines his head in greeting.]
Well met.
Tell me, for I cannot say I have heard the words, what is a "xeno"--
[He's knows very well what a "sorcerer" is, being that he himself is the Spirit of a long -dead Hero, summoned by a Magus.]
and what manner of title "commissar" might be.
no subject
[Mostly because in galactic terms, it meant anyone not from a certain location. Xeno was the preferred word for 'non-humans', especially when humans occupied most of the galaxy.]
As for Commissar, you could say we're a type of officer that exists outside the chain of command in the Imperial Guard. Our job is to keep up troop morale and make sure orders are followed.

I've heard that people from other words may be more familiar with the term alien. They're lifeforms from other planets and they either want to kill humans or compromise our way of live.
[ That totally sounds legit, right? Not crazy at all? Either way, Amberley sounds completely serious like she believes every word she's saying. ]
Commissar is a title in our military. They help supervise Imperial Guard units and are soldiers of the highest caliber.

Apologies for the lag! RL interference.
No biggie, RL happens :)b
Outside the third floor.
Good morning, Amberly! What's with the flyers?
no subject
Which, for the record, I don't claim. Everything that happened to give me that title was clearly the result of teamwork, not the work of a single person.

A rage he hasn't felt for a very long time and had hoped not to feel again.
What kind of foolishness is this? After all that they have recently learned about this place and their conditions in it, how can anyone be trying to create this type of division among them? And then to dare call themselves heroes?
It is madness. Utter madness.
He looks up at the people who handed him the flyer. They have moved farther down the hallway, but he doesn't move to go after them. His voice, sharp and deadly does the work for him.]
What the hell do you two think you're doing? Stop this foolishness at once. We are all captive souls here. Magic or not makes no difference. We should be erasing divides not creating them!
[He crumples the flyer into a ball and throws it on the floor, his rage so great he is nearly shaking.]

With that reaction, it's definitely a heretic. Probably the Slaneeshi kind, judging by his looks.

Excuse me? [ She puts a smile on her face. ] I was wondering if you could elaborate more on what you mean by the bottom line. I'm not entirely sure what a "Xeno" is either.

Alien is the word used on more primitive planets. Non-human creatures who live solely to wipe humans from the galaxy. That kind of thing.

Xeno is another term for Alien which is more popular in my own world. That line was printed to indicate that we wouldn't be helping anyone that seeks out the destruction of the human race.

I can handle myself.
[Nevermind not knowing whatever a 'Xeno' is and knowing at least one other person who could be classed as a 'sorcerer'. What irritates is the notion of Humans flocking together, and how very sickeningly typically pathetic of their species. No wonder they all deserve to be wiped out.]
no subject
[ Amberley doesn't know what he's thinking, of course, so she's just as cheery as ever. ]

Cafeteria
The writing at the bottom causes her to raise an eyebrow up at the two handing out the leaflets though, and she glares at them from where she's seated.]
Excuse me? "Sorcerers need not apply"?
[The angry and offended "Why on earth not?" hangs in the air, though she doesn't out right say it.]
no subject
We aren't looking to hurt magic users in anyway unless they hurt innocent humans first. We're just being honest about who we're willing to protect in a time of crisis.

And because he just happens to have one now, he pauses for a split second to scan it (yes, amazingly, he can read), before giving a loud, not-at-all concealed snort.]
And what be this absolutely childish hornswaggle, eh? Trust in your fellow humans. That's rich.
[No, seriously, dafuq did he just read.]
don't be sorry
[ By the look on her face, yes, this seems to be a very very important question. Amberley can't really tell who's non-human by looking here, and in her line of work it's better to assume and act instead of end up dead. ]
oh but i am /sob
but it's Barbossa you can't be sorry about that
that is exactly why i'm sorry; mostly for Barbossa creep factor
nah it's fine, she's dealt with creepy plenty of times in her 80+ years of living
as long as forewarned is forearmed, etc etc.

Obviously armed individuals still make him a little tense, even if it's a natural occurrence in the Tower. He's a little more confused by the primitive flyer.]
... The Imperium? And there aren't any contact details, apart from the name.
[He did see the bit about sorcerers, but though it gives him pause, he doesn't even know what he's looking at. It doesn't quite register as a sign of hostility.]

[A miniature version of someone who brushed by them earlier appears. Sephiroth is oddly pale, but other than the glow in his eyes looks completely human (unless his pupils should narrow into slits).
He takes the flier and studies it quite seriously for a minute or so, as it seems like something that warrants serious thought. Hmm.]
Thank you. If you are in need of assistance, you can ask me, too. [He likes to be helpful.] I am Sephiroth. Is one of you the hero? [He's not a sorcerer or a xeno, as far as he's concerned (world-eating alien DNA aside), but he knows what the prefix xeno means.]
Aren't we all xenos here? [They're not from this planet, after all.]
no subject
[Long story and he doesn't think a kid wouldn't really understand.]
But no, we aren't. Xenos are non-humans. Like the Eldar or the Tyranids or the Orks.
