maybe there's nothing
Characters: Makoto Naegi and OPEN
Setting: Dorm Floors
Format: bracketspam!
Summary: He's tired, he just wanted to sleep.
Warnings: Suicidal thoughts, possible death.
[Spring // Everywhere]
[Maizono-san left.
Again.
To him, this chilling rain fit his current mood all too well as he just stood there in the hallways, trudging through silently as he did nothing of sorts to even protect himself. In fact, he was too tired that the only thing he could do was to walk on and try to get his bearings together. February and March at this point, could go to hell for all he care- but that'd be too strong a word for him, hell.
But it's really fitting, since this tower could be comparable to that.
His thoughts were interrupted as he collapsed on a heap, exhaustion, hunger and the cold finally getting to him as he just lied there on the ground, looking as if he's about to die.]

oh my god
He wanted to scream to himself for this, but nope, he's now literally being carried by this stranger!!!]
...Just... the cafeteria would be alright, I guess.
no subject
Guess I have no business asking this, but if you'rre not hurt, what's bothering you? We may as well talk so long as you're taking up my personal space and time.
[Nevermind the fact that she picked you up. Oh no. This one's alllll you Makoto.]
no subject
[There, happy? He's not really in the mood to talk more, but if she keeps on prying, he'll keep on answering anyways.]
no subject
Can't imagine they'd be happy watching you laying arrround and giving up so easily.
no subject
[so he figured it's alright to indulge in his self-pity for a while.
that's paraphrased btw.]
no subject
[Sigh]
Even if you wanted, you can't even die here.
no subject
[It doesn't even matter if he's alive or dead, to be honest.]
In the end, we'll be here anyways, so what use is living?
no subject
[She slings Makoto from her shoulder, suddenly holding him by the collar as she stares him dead in the face]
The moment you give that up in this place, it's over. There's always a chance for us to get back home and see our loved ones, but we won't get there without faith and the deterrrmination to keep on going. You're so sure about giving that up? Laying down and wishing you were dead?
no subject
...Well, Naegi's not the type to think words such as that, but he certainly realized that if there's one thing newcomers, or at least, if his guess about her is right, doesn't lack is hope.
The hope to escape this place, to be precise.]
...I don't know.
[he answered with neutral words, rather than his planned negative response.]
no subject
Is it really that easy for you?
[The deathgrip she'd been maintaining on Makoto's collar weakens as she settles him against a wall, leaving him to slump back into the floor should he desire.]
On the off chance our worlds are really gone, giving up is only going to guarantee we never see them again.
no subject
[He didn't slump back down, but rather, he just leaned on it as a support as he said those words.]
It's easy to give up, but...
[...It's harder to stand up and keep going for the others.
The words he wanted to say couldn't exactly come up to his throat from his heart, as if he's denying it.]
But...
I don't think I have the heart to see my friends disappear just like that.
no subject
[She takes up a spot next to Makoto on the wall, quiet for a moment as she seems to consider her words.]
It's lonely without them, yeah. And I won't even prrretend to imagine I know how it feels to watch a comrade vanish right from underneath my whiskers, but if you can't stand for yourself, stand for them. Use the weight of their sacrifice to keep on going but never say that you can't. It's your responsibility to live in their stead until we can find a way out of this mess, but you can't break now - otherwise there will be no change.

Those words were the one that hit him the most as he grew quiet at that. It took him a few seconds to recover from it, and a few more before he even spoke again.]
We never met before, so why are you caring so much?
[About a stranger who is just down in the dump right now.]
N-not that I mind it, really.
no subject
[Mihli cracks an eye open to glance over at Makoto]
You were clogging up the hall. I almost tripped and busted my nose. Had to do something otherrrwise you'd have just kept laying there face first in the water like some sort of fish.
[Despite her words she's smirking rather genuinely. It's an honest and friendly expression that belies her harsh and apathetic words.]
Everyone could use a hand now and then. We can't all be at the top of our game 24/7, that's just not how life worrrrks, so I figured I'd lend you one of mine *shrug* So long as we're all here no one's really alone, right?
no subject
[There's just a small smile as he said it. Really, the gesture is appreciated by him; and while he thought it'd be better if she did it to her friends, the fact that she's willing to do it to him...
Well, at least it gave him hope.]
I'm... Makoto Naegi. And you are?
no subject
[Rain's everywhere at this point, so she'll just be resting her arms behind her head and kicking one leg up on over the other. May as well make the best of it while she can.]
Nice to meet you, kid. *tailswish~*
no subject
[Never mind the weird suffix he just gave to your last name.]
no subject
[Blink. Alright now she's confused. And why just call her by her last name? How odd...]
no subject
[yeap.]
