Summary: Maka's exploring the tower. She's not amused.
Warnings: Cursing probably. Also, if you could fill this permissions post that would be great!

[Maka wakes up, expecting her bedroom with the sun shining through the windows and Blair curled up next to her, but instead getting the panic of sleep paralysis and the weird disorientation of waking up in a completely new room.]

[First, Maka goes to eat breakfast. Oatmeal, which is gross and kind of makes her want to throw up. She's got no interest in trying to mess around with the communication terminals, so she starts trying to figure out how the layout of this tower works. The half-hour ride down from the dorms to the cafeteria gave her an idea of just how big the place is, but somehow she didn't didn't really get it. It's huge, and every floor is weirder than the one before it.]

[Shortly after Maka's sleep paralysis wears off, the door opens; in walks a girl, looking to be no older than her late teens. She heads towards one of the beds, glancing only briefly in Maka's direction, but stops in her tracks, a look of surprise crossing her face. She immediately switches direction, approaching Maka's bed and offering a hand.]

Do you require any assistance?

[The sleep paralysis wears off, and Maka rolls out of bed, landing in a crouch beside it. She activates her soul perception, looking for Soul, then for anyone familiar, but doesn't find them.

Enter Jeanne. Maka stares up at the older girl, then stands, ignoring that outstretched hand.]

You can tell me what the hell's going on.

[Ruler doesn't seem offended at all that Maka brushes off her offer of help. Everyone reacts differently when they first wake up, after all.]

You've been kidnapped. [She motions to the bedside table, where the welcome letters are laid out.] The people who brought you here would like you to believe that they saved you from the destruction of your home, but their words are likely nothing but lies.

[Maka goes to the welcome letters, keeping an eye on the stranger as she reads through once, twice. Her whole world, destroyed? That's impossible.]

... where's everybody else?

[Room 2-19]

[Sometime after Ruler's conversation with Maka, V/V enters the room and stops at seeing her.]

Oh - you're our new roommate? I'm sorry you had to come here.

[Maka's trying to figure out how to get her tie on with this collar covering her neck. It's not working and she winds up putting it back in her trunk just as V/V enters.

An apology's really the only right reaction, isn't it?]

Yeah, I'm Maka Albarn.

I'm V/V. Is there anything you want to know about this place?

What's in the letters? I've been here for a while so I haven't read them recently.

[Maka sighs.]

Never mind. I'll figure it out myself.

Oh... I'm very sorry.

It's okay. Maybe you should read through the letters again.

I'll do that. I really do want to help.

You can borrow mine if you want. I'm done with them.

Okay. But, um, is there any other way I can help out first? I don't read quickly.

Well, how long have you been here?

Eight months, I think.

Is that a long time?

Yeah, it is.
