Where has Master Gone?

Setting: All over the Tower.

Format: Starting as prose; I'll match you though.
Summary: The Tower is short a couple of redheads, and a little pink cheagle is severely distressed over this.
Warnings: Heartbreaking adorableness.

It doesn't matter where you are in the Tower, chances are you'll see a small and fluffy pink thing running around as fast as it can on all four legs. Occasionally it'll stop, sniffing around the air, even putting its nose to the floor and trying to sniff at that, but it's obviously not getting the creature anywhere. It lets out a sad sounding, "Mieuuuu..." before continuing on its way, trying to find its owner.

Anyone familiar with Luke already has seen this creature: it's the cheagle that Luke received after Infighting. Problem is, Luke hardly ever lets him out of his sight, and usually has him perched on his shoulder or hiding in his coat. If he's running around that frantic...

Saber caught sight of the cheagle and knelt down.

"Amnon. Come here." She held her hand out for him.

Oh, he knew this person! Amnon let out a faint noise, scampering over to her quickly. He skidded to a stop on her hand, ranting at a mile a minute.

"Mieu! Mieumieumieuuu mi-mieu mieu!"

She puts her hand on top of his head rubbing between his ears.

"You are not with Luke."

"Mieuu..." Amnon replied, sounding sad as his big ears drooped.

Saber couldn't speak with animals as some could, but she had picked up that this cheagle was smarter than a dog. And that response wasn't a good one.

"Where is he?"

"Mieuuu..."

Amnon curled up on her hand. He had no idea where Luke was, otherwise he'd have found him already, right?

Saber decided to pick him up then and cuddle him to her chest. "Let us go look for him together."

"Mieu!"

He snuggled up against her, but he wasn't feeling very confident after running around as much as he had.

Thorin couldn't help but spot a flash of pink at the corner of his eye. He was walking along the corridor in one of the many halls covering Animus. Taking a closer look, he bent down to study the creature. It was like nothing else he'd ever seen before.

"What are you?"

"Mieu... mieuu?"

Amnon sniffed at the short person before him, curious.

Thorin looked down at the cat-like creature and stiffened. It did not look like it would harm anyone. Yet, he could not afford to let his guard drop. It's cries caused him to crack a small smile. It was rather cute looking, even though Thorin wouldn't admit it out loud.

"Can you speak, creature?"

"Mieu mi-mieuu!"

That was an, "Of course he can", not that Thorin would know unless he could speak cheagle.

Thorin didn't know what to do with the creature as it fussed around his legs. What was it? Did the tower have more of these creatures walking around? "I do not understand what you are saying to me. Alas, I do not speak your language." He went to pet the cheagle on the head as if it were a pony.

"Mieuuu..."

Amnon's ears drooped, not sure how he was supposed to explain what was wrong.

Thorin could see the creature was in some kind of distress as he patted it's small head. "Have you a master, an owner of sorts?"

Heya Amnon. This isn't your owner, but he sure looks a lot like him. He's unfortunately paying pretty much zero attention to anything on the floor, so he nearly steps on the cheagle.

"What was that sound..?" And then he spots the bit of pink, stopping and crouching down to check it out. "Oh...a cheagle? Hey, c'mere."

It's not Mieu, Mieu was bluish-green and this one is pink. Does that mean it's a girl? He's not even sure how to tell their gender.

Nope, this one is definitely a boy; don't feel bad, the other Luke was confused too. At any rate, Amnon perked up when he heard and saw Luke, letting out a happy noise as he scampered over He came to a skidding stop just before him though, sniffing at him and...

...and backing up. What... this wasn't the same Luke. Similar, sure, but not the same.

"Mieuuu..."

Well, that's somewhat offensive. Other Luke didn't smell that bad. He didn't know that it's because he's the wrong Luke, and was confused why Amnon was backing away. Damn it, why didn't this cheagle have a Sorcerer's Ring like Thing Mieu did?

"I...uh. I'm not going to hurt you. I'm one of the good guys."

He held his hands out, palms up, for Amnon to examine if he wanted.

Amnon looked up at him, before shuffling toward his hand, climbing onto it and curling up on it. He missed his master so much right now...

"Mieuu..."

He wasn't exactly expecting the cheagle to actually come up to him again--he wanted it to, of course, that would mean he wasn't an enemy to all cheagles--and raised his eyebrows slightly when it curled up on his hand. Okay then. Luke took the chance to pick Amnon up, hugging him to his chest.

"Huh? I can't understand you. I should probably find your owner."

In other words, it was time to head in a direction and bug people about their potential pet.

Riku isn't all that familiar with Luke or Amnon and tends ignore strange creatures unless the are out to attack him, but his Komory Bat is not nearly as unsociable and thuse ventures off to investigate when it hears the cheagle's distressed noises.

Have a brightly coloured bat-pet fluttering above Amnon and head(?)-tilting?

Ohhhh... a fellow monster. It didn't look like anything Amnon had seen before, but maybe it would still understand him?

"Mieuuu mi-mieumieu. Mi-mi-mieu? Mieu mieu mieu mimieu." I'm looking for my master. Have you seen him? He has red hair.

Back home Highwind probably wouldn't, but that's what magical Tower-translation-powers are for! Hence have a return-squeak.

"Noooo. Highwind hasn't seen any people like that."

Especially since his partner doesn't really know any. Or isn't close to them, at least. Hmm, maybe he should change that sometimes in the future. >3

Man, he was afraid of that. How was he supposed to find his master like this?

After all, it doesn't seem like Riku needs him right now. He's probably reading somewhere.
