Where has Master Gone?

Setting: All over the Tower.
When: April 14
Format: Starting as prose; I'll match you though.
Summary: The Tower is short a couple of redheads, and a little pink cheagle is severely distressed over this.
Warnings: Heartbreaking adorableness.

It doesn't matter where you are in the Tower, chances are you'll see a small and fluffy pink thing running around as fast as it can on all four legs. Occasionally it'll stop, sniffing around the air, even putting its nose to the floor and trying to sniff at that, but it's obviously not getting the creature anywhere. It lets out a sad sounding, "Mieuuuu..." before continuing on its way, trying to find its owner.

Anyone familiar with Luke already has seen this creature: it's the cheagle that Luke received after Infighting. Problem is, Luke hardly ever lets him out of his sight, and usually has him perched on his shoulder or hiding in his coat. If he's running around that frantic...

"Mieu mi-mieuu!"

That was an, "Of course he can", not that Thorin would know unless he could speak cheagle.

Thorin didn't know what to do with the creature as it fussed around his legs. What was it? Did the tower have more of these creatures walking around? "I do not understand what you are saying to me. Alas, I do not speak your language." He went to pet the cheagle on the head as if it were a pony.

"Mieuuu..."

Amnon's ears drooped, not sure how he was supposed to explain what was wrong.

Thorin could see the creature was in some kind of distress as he patted it's small head. "Have you a master, an owner of sorts?"

Amnon looked up at him sadly, nodding.

[sonof_thrain]

How could Thorin help this creature reunite with it's owner? He didn't know as the tower itself, was huge. "I know I cannot understand you, but you seem to be able to understand me. Do you know where your owner was last?" Thorin frowned. Maybe it could nod or shake it's head.

"Mieu, mieu!" Amnon replied, pointing up to Thorin's collar, hoping he would get the hint.

Thorin looked at where the creature was pointing. To his collar? He felt the tight device around his neck. It was snug, but not enough to cause discomfort. There were times he wanted to rip the damn thing off. But knowing he would die.

"Was your master going for a collar check-up?"

"Mieu!"

Bingo, Thorin.

Now he understood why the poor creature was separated from it's master. During collar check-up, the creature must have been forced to wait outside or wait for it's master to return. Thorin was dreading his own check-up. He would rebel.

"Can you take me to where you last saw him?"

[sacred_flamer]

"Mieu!"

Amnon turned to scamper off, pausing and motioning to Thorin to follow him.

Thorin nodded and trailed behind the creature in search of it's owner. Usually, he wouldn't have troubled himself with such a task but he felt sorry for this helpless creature. What other creature would make this one a mealtime snack?

Amnon kept hurrying off, finally coming to the infirmary where people normally had their collar check ups. He pointed into the room, letting out faint little "mieu" noises. He really didn't want to go in there.

Thorin knew what lay behind those doors. He had a good idea of what did, even though he'd not been for check-up yet. It sounded like torture. Sometimes, he heard rumours of people dying or being tortured inside. He swallowed and looked darkly at the doors.

"Do you think he is inside there?"

[sacred_flamer]

"Mieu..."

Amnon darted toward him then, scampering up his shorter body to stand on Thorin's shoulder, huddling against the side of his head.

What the?-

Thorin didn't know what to do in situations like this. He stiffened as the creature climbed up his body and onto his shoulder. "You are quite friendly, aren't you? Do you have a name?"

[sacred_flamer]

"Mieu!"

...no, it's not "Mieu"; that's the name of another Thing. But it's not like he can say his name is Amnon.

[sonof_thrain]

"Mieu? Is that your name?" Thorin just stared blankly at the creature now atop his shoulder. "Well, whatever your name is, your master is out of reach. You will have to wait until he had finished his collar check-up."

[sacred_flamer]

Amnon shook his head, tapping his foot in frustration.

"Mieu! Mieumieu mieuuu!" he exclaimed, tapping his wrist like he had a watch on it, before folding his arms behind his back and pacing back and forth on Thorin's shoulder. "Mi-mi-mieu! Mieuuuuuu!"

He stopped finally, throwing up his arms in exasperation.

"I don't know what you are saying." Thorin just sighed. What did that mean? Tapping his wrist like that? If only he could understand what the little creature was trying to say. It might be easier that way.

Amnon let out a tired sounding sigh, placing a hand to his forehead. Why couldn't there be more cheagles in the Tower...?

Thorin sighed. How was he going to get through to this creature? Perhaps, it would be best if you'd wait for your master?
