from fairest creatures

Characters: OU!England and you!
Setting: Kitchen or Floor 19, the new library.
Format: Starting prose, but I'm flexible, baby. ;D
Summary: He's a bit disturbed by the lack of tea and history textbooks in this tower.
Warnings: England in the kitchen (but don't worry, only for tea!), probably language, and flying mint bunny.

Kitchen;;

He hadn't the faintest idea exactly how that trunk had been packed to encompass all of his basic needs, but he had never been more thankful for it as he was when he arrived in the kitchen and realized that this place lacked a supply of tea. He had brought his own tea down regardless of what he expected to find -- he trusted his own supply and brands far more than anything the tower had to offer -- but it was troubling to know that he'd probably end up having to ration what he had.

A deep sigh fell from the kingdom as he leaned back against the counter next to the stove, where the water waited to boil. He only hoped that the power wouldn't blip out while the stove was on, as it had seemed to be keen on doing this month thus far -- with the rate at which his nerves were fraying, he needed a cup of jasmine post-haste.
Floor 19;;

"There's nothing up there, either?" he questioned, craning his head back to look at the winged green creature hovering near the highest shelves. When the soft voice answered in the negative, England's generous eyebrows furrowed in perplexity.

The entire history section was gone from this library. Something about that disturbed him to his core. Those weren't just dry retellings of things that most people didn't care about anymore; those were his memories. The story of his life, and the lives of all of his comrades, as well. Stories that would die if they weren't passed down.

Chunks had been carved out of some other sections as well, it seemed. England was skeptical that the removals were at random, especially with one section all but eradicated. The pudgy rabbit fluttered down to rest on his shoulder, and he absently reached up a hand to stroke its head as he pondered. To anyone without a sight for fairies and the supernatural, it would look more like a gesture of madness to empty air at the side of his head, but England had more important things to worry about at the moment than his perceived sanity.

How strange... perhaps they aren't good with magic, then.

[ She smiles faintly. Link is not much of a talker herself, but... she is fond of Navi.

Cojiro ruffles his feathers a bit. Hello there, rabbit. I am a blue chicken. Let us be strangely colored animals together? ]

Navi? Well... she's a fairy. I suppose most would see her as more of a blue ball of light with wings. Most of my people have fairy companions like her--we usually travel together.

[ She reaches out a gloved hand, gently, hoping to pet the mint bunny, if it allows her to. ]
ocariness: (Sideglance.)

[ This sounds like a wonderful coalition, someone elect a representative. Sadly, her Cucco cannot speak in any other language but animal language, which, if the bunny understands, it will answer with 'Not to human ears.'

Link is used to this by now. She won't judge if you're curious, England. ]

How sad... magic is very common in Hyrule--I use it myself.

[ A pause. Hmm... gosh, she is so used to Navi doing all this talking for her! She supposes that 'social' thing and speaking is something she will need to learn how to do here. ]

Well, I was raised in a forest. Adopted by the Guardian there. But... they're called the Kokiri... and everyone has a fairy partner. Though none of them leave the forest or age.
ocariness: (Inquisitively.)

[ ... Oh how polite. Well, while their animal companions chat, introductions shall be made.

This is usually where Navi would say stuff for her, huh. It's odd, not just nodding or saying yes and no, for her. ]

... Link.

[ She keeps feeling somehow oddly inadequate when she hears people with two names. It's... not very common to have a last name where she's from unless you're a owl. ]

It's... nice to meet you. Arthur... right?

[ WHAT IS A LAST NAME? Can you eat it-- ]
ocariness: (Evenly.)

... Not even sure what Hyrule-tan would be like but now I want this badly.

I've never heard of England before, but yes, that is what I said.

[ Well, her world has a lot of oddness, but not Nations in the form of people.

A pause. A headtilt. ]

... Are you not Hylian, then?
ocariness: (Apologetically.)

I am trying to figure out what they'd be LIKE lmao.

[personal profile] ocariness 2011-10-10 09:09 am (UTC)(link)
[ Well, she thinks she knows the culprit, in that case-- ]

We are from different worlds, then... to be honest, I have not ventured all that far from Hyrule.

[ She then turns and looks at the books that are clearly missing from their shelf area, now, and frowns, but attempts to smile anyway. ]

... The history of this place and even our own homes are absent... I must admit, I'm disappointed; I do not know much of either.
ocariness: (Wind swept.)

I AM WORKING ON THIS IDEA... but I can't draw : |a

[ Link appears thoughtful for a moment. ]

I haven't thought to look... perhaps I will later, though.

[ If they could find something, it may be worth while. She was still looking for a room holding the map or compass to this odd tower, honestly, but books could be informative too, she supposed.

But she is a bit curious as to what England's world is like. Perhaps his country, first? ]

Forgive me my ignorance on this, but... what is 'England' like?
ocariness: (Nom nom?)

HAHA, DO YOU HAVE PLURK...

[personal profile] ocariness 2011-10-15 11:32 pm (UTC)(link)
[ There's a headshake at the first state, and then Link listens quite closely. She's a far better listener than she is a conversationalist, after all. Though at the mention of mountains, she wonders how alike they really are.

She had a lot of questions, of course, but perhaps she should start with the simpler ones. ]

It sounds similar to Hyrule... are there different races who live in your mountains and your waterways?
ocariness: ([Female] What?)

Mine is Catphones <3 adding you

[personal profile] ocariness 2011-10-18 02:51 am (UTC)(link)
... I can't imagine anyone who would ignore the other peoples of our land... that's very sad.

[ Honestly, Link is rather perplexed. Though, perhaps this is because she grew up in a fairy forest where everyone there is eternally a child and their guardian spirit was a talking tree. ]

Perhaps they need clearer vision...?

[ She finds herself considering the Lens of Truth, tucked safely away in her things right now. ]
ocariness: (Questioningly.)

THAT'S OKAY <333 we can communicate regardless *u*

[personal profile] ocariness 2011-10-20 11:23 am (UTC)(link)
[ She seems rather thoughtful for a moment, before pulling out what looks like a rather odd magnifying glass, holding it up.

She feels this is somewhat self-explanatory, but... just in case, although this was normally Navi's expertise, well, she'd explain. ]

You could show them? With this. It's called the Lens of Truth. ... It uses magic power, of course... is that a problem?

[ Headtilt. Hylians and Kokiri are naturally attuned to that sort of thing in her world, though... she was just a bit special even then, thanks to quite a bit of adventuring. ]
ocariness: (Brightly.)

[personal profile] ocariness 2011-10-25 07:36 am (UTC)(link)
[ She smiles, always helpful. ]

Well, then they just need to see it when I'm holding it.
ocariness: (Wryness.)

[personal profile] ocariness 2011-10-31 07:51 am (UTC)(link)
[ A small smile, this one a bit sadder. ]

I'm afraid getting this one was quite a journey for me... I wouldn't know how to make one. It seems to be more the former. But I would be happy to aid you if you'd like?
