Characters: Vergil and open
Setting: Cafeteria, dorm halls
Format: Starting action but I'll match you
Summary: Modifications are over here, Vergil's the most upset about being brainwashed, let me know if you want to run into him normal or malfunctioning
Warnings: Same as all the other event posts, really, though body horror's pretty low as are chances of death, mostly just injury or while malfunctioning
Cafeteria
[Upon hearing the administrators could force residents into performing menial tasks, Vergil swore it would never happen to him. He would never allow it to. But, just the same, somehow he finds himself serving up meals in the cafeteria, mechanically going about the job. As much as he tries to force himself, he can't stop, or even speak to announce he would never be doing this if it were up to him.
He also can't help but want to touch others, or have them touch his now blue, almost snake-like skin. The purpose for this, the rational mind doesn't know, but it doesn't stop his body from making attempts to offer food in a way that makes contact probable.]
Dorm halls
[At other times, he finds himself pushing a broom down the halls, somehow even more degrading than the cafeteria duty. His hands may shake some in his attempts to stop himself, but otherwise, there's really nothing to indicate he doesn't want to be doing this.]
Anywhere else
[Any other worker unit tasks? He's probably found doing them at some point in the week, his mind screaming no all the while.
As for malfunctions, he takes to watching other tower residents, usually in full demon form.]

Dorm hall » Normal
And today, while going back to his room, there's just someone with... broom that captured his attention, shaking and all. He's sick or something? ]
You okay over there?

His thoughts, however, are more cynical and aware. 'Do I look 'okay'?' and the like.]

Hey, you listening?

So you're listening. [ A nod and he cross his arms behind his flaming red hair. ] Need a hand or two, dude?
[ That was a genuine response, not even a hint of sarcasm. Just because he thought Vergil was being a generous man who worked his ass off to clean this place. ]

But of course he still can't reply, that question isn't in the limited vocabulary the worker units are allowed.
He shoots a small glare, hoping to show his annoyance in some way.]

Cafeteria
Good morning, Virgil. How are your duties coming along?

Good, I'm glad to hear that. May I have some food? You can't work on an empty stomach, you know.
[So she wasn't slacking.]

anywhere else: the infirmary
[She doesn't expect to be hit by a wave of pain the second she steps foot inside, but that's what happens. She gasps sharply, and her legs lock up so that she needs to lean against the nearest wall for support. But even despite the sudden, intense sensation, she's quick to try to shove herself upright again, eyes widening as she automatically searches for the source of this feeling.]

[She should leave, or at least try. But, instead, she stares at the man approaching her. There isn't anything as obviously wrong with him as there was Sephiroth—his skin could always be like that, for all she knows—but she recognizes the strange color of his collar, and that's enough to make her pause.]
Ah— Are you—?
[Ridiculously, she almost asks him if he's all right, but she doesn't think there's anything she can do about it either way.]

[Ultimately, she turns away from him and staggers to one of the beds. Despite what her manner of dress might imply, she has no problem stripping out of her dress and leaving her torso bare—after all, this is hardly the first time she has had to remove her clothes so that someone else could dress a wound for her. She turns her scarred back toward him.]
[Refusing help that someone was kind enough to offer would be rude, after all.]

But as much as his normal reaction would be to scoff and leave or otherwise go about his business, of course his hands move on their own to treat the area. Washing the wound goes smoothly, but, as he lays a layer of gauze over it, his palm presses against Claudia's back.]

...Vergil? Are you all right?
[No, clearly he isn't all right.
It looks like the same kind of thing happened to him that happened to Shinji. This isn't good.]
You can't talk either, can you?

This isn't right. There must be something I can do.
[It's likely there isn't, but Kariya always thinks there's something he can do. He's sure Vergil's mother would want him to do something. She was his friend. He can't just leave her son like this. He wouldn't like to think of something like this happening to Sakura or Rin. He studies Vergil's face, looking for any sign of a response.]
Is there some way I can help you?
no subject

No. No, I don't think that's a good idea...
[Diarmuid had killed Kariya in the Tower, but only after he'd been dying for some time after being turned into a mermaid. It was true that the death had returned him to himself, but he doesn't like the thought of killing anyone, especially not Eva's son. What would Eva say?]
This is Jason's month. It might be different. [It's not the same as an ordinary problem in the Tower. Although he's not sure. How can he be sure?] There must be some other way.

That being said. It seems like Dave feels like approaching the other. He seems satisfied that the other is doing his job as a unit. He doesn't feel like there's anything astray at the moment.] It looks like you're doing your job fine. No on has been giving you trouble, right?
