we'll rise up and take the power back
Characters: Team Hero [Robin (
tacticaldisaster), Hakumen (
iamthewhitevoid), AU!Link (
ocariness), anyone else who wants in]
Setting: Floor 101, elsewhere in order to pick up allies
Format: Starting with action, do as you wish after!
Summary: The Fellowship of Heroes is formed in response to the Rebellion plot.
Warnings: HEROES BEING HEROIC. I actually don't know yet tho.
[Robin has noticed that on some of the floors, one simply cannot use their powers. Even her tomes are defunct - she's tried. Experimented, if you will - and kept meticulous notes in her journal just in case something went wrong.
This counts as "something going horribly wrong", this increase in drones and mutilated, mangled, brainwashed people. Some floors she hasn't gotten to check out yet -- but she's going to have to try, she thinks as she steps onto the last step up. It's a glowing step (she notes that), and just like that she is teleported into what seems to be a hanging garden. Very handy; the drones may not be able to follow a person here as easily as they would otherwise. A quick test tells her that this is another "powerless" floor.
Good thing she can use a sword as well as she can use magic.
"Floor One Hundred One: Garden floor, accessed via non-obvious teleport on last step up of staircase. No powers permitted. Apparent disconnect from the rest of the tower; no staircase. Arrow buttons apparently a replacement as such. Up and down arrows, specifically - indicating direction of return?"
For now, this is as good a base of operations as anyone could hope for. Here, she'll be on equal standing with any drone that manages to get in, because if she can't use her powers then they probably can't either. The only problem, of course, is that she appears to be alone.
There is always and has always been safety in numbers.
As a result, Robin can be found with the hood of her duster/cloak up on the floors nearest the teleport, trying to locate others that haven't been brainwashed.]

If you are worried I am like those prisoners our despicable hosts twisted, I am not.

[Robin pulls down her hood and walks over to Hakumen, sizing him up silently as she does. Fighter, obviously. Good.]
I'm here because if our powers are sealed, it stands to reason that the powers of those converted into drones might be sealed too. If nothing else, it would make a good base of operations, wouldn't you say?

Jumbled up monstrosities straight outta some M.C. Escher x Picasso nightmare induced trip from the pits of hell appeared to immediately start attacking others, and even those weirdly passive drones have gone psycho-mode for no apparent reason. And with no-one to turn to, Makoto did the first thing she could think to do: Grab her stuff and run. Fighting's one thing, but throwin' down with this entire madhouse is just plain suicide.
Fortunately enough, the first place she seems to have found herself happens to be floor 101, and though she notes that her powers have been dampened, she's more concerned with the cloaked figure directly ahead. Clad in a cloak herself, Makoto cautiously approaches, hood drawn]
Puuhhhlleeeeaaasseee don't tell me you're going to flip out on me too...

No, I'm not. I'm going to try and start something, and I've found what might be a relatively safe floor that can be a base of operations. Come with me, please. [She jerks her head slightly, in the direction of the stairs.]

Technically a drone with his sanity ftm, feel free to ask me to leave if you need to!
Robin would be likely to see a man, bloody and worn, chains grafted over his arms, neck, waist and back, the ends of which all contained the remnants of various corpses. Some were unrecognizable, but most could be seen specifically as female. The man himself doesn't look aggressive or mindless in the least, for the moment - he is simply very tired and very scared. He is armed, but it appears defending himself is not on his mind. His steps are scattered, as though he's looking for a place to hide...]
Robin may be shooing him out shortly. :( Sorry!

Pink. Mother of Naga...She's going to approach, hood still up and identity, for all intents and purposes, obscured.]
May I ask why you're here?
lol, that's fine, he's got something important to tell them, anyways

don't suppose the thing guy's trying to say now is useful to the heroes too?
Possibly! I guess it depends how they use it. He's just wary as fuck. :X

[The Dorms - Robin!]
That had brought her back up to the dorms, intent on at least finding somebody still sane in this place who she could trust to walk her back. But now she was far more cautious, advancing slowly through the hallways with her hand on the hilt of her sword, eyes constantly darting around for any sign something might attack. As if the monsters weren't bad enough, now she had to worry about everyone else too... and that's when she heard it. Footsteps, and not her own. Her hand tightened around the hilt of her sword as she came to a stop, cautiously calling out.]
Who's there? [And her mind already raced with the possibilities, courses of action she could take depending on if it was a worker unit or one of the modified residents... or quite possibly someone still sane. That'd be nice too.]

[THANK GOD, it's someone she knows.] It's me, Robin, the tactician. Please come this way!
[She's going to tug Amelia's hand slightly and try to lead her toward the staircase. Amelia's DEFINITELY a powerful person. They could, without doubt, use her help out there.]

As he stepped on the 101th Floor, Data looked much the same as usual and his collar was clearly orange. That is when he'd spot Robin, or rather the hooded figure. He rose an eyebrow and looked at her suspiciously, with that hood on she could as well be one of the brainwashed people. Better make sure. ]
My apologizes, are you... [Tilts his head.] In need of assistance?

If you feel like helping fight back, then yes, please.

In short, he needed to run. In a little bit longer than short, he needed people. People he could put between himself and all the heresy that was clearly going on.
But no one could ever call Cain stupid. He had one thing that gave him a massive advantage over everyone else in this place. A laspistol.
Considered relatively weak in his world, it was explosively powerful in comparison to other firearms he had seen around here. Now all he needed was someplace where others couldn't use their own heretical abilities so he could have the advantage in firepower. And floor 101 it was, Cain waving his pistol around when he appeared there, just to MAKE SURE.]

For the love of all the gods, hold your fire!
[She puts her hands up in a show of good faith - she's not waving her sword around, Cain, so you should probably do the same, right?]

I'm glad to see more people are making it here. Are you hurt?

[GATHERING]
This was wrong on every level, this was inexcusable, this was unacceptable brutality, the sheer extent of it! It was beyond something that could be termed injustice. Turning people into mindless drones, twisting them like that. He'd seen some malfunction and their screams still lingered in his ears.
When he finished his third sweep of the tower on foot, unwilling to trust the elevator or risking missing people in need of aide, Shirou arrived on this floor and noticed it too had people on it.]
Hey. [He cleared his throat.] Hey, you're not mutilated like those guys, are you?

LATEEEEE BLUH
They don't need magic to defend theirself, but they'll happily wait here, a little worried. There's a grim determination, all right... but Link is still anxious. Unfortunately, all they've got to communicate with is a small notepad and a pencil, but it'll have to work. ]
[MEETING]

Hello, I'm Robin, and it's nice to meet you all. I've brought everyone here both because this seems like a relatively safe floor, and in the hopes of starting a rebellion, a self-defense group in response to this mess - whatever you want to call it.
This is, for lack of a better word, what I intend to be our base of operations. Not only is it not so easily found or traced, but I believe the power-sealing effects of this floor might affect our friends who have been brainwashed as well. If worse comes to worst, we'll be able to disarm them, knock them out, and make sure they stay here if we're on even ground. I get the feeling it might be kinder on them than having to do the administrators' bidding.
[She nods at Hakumen.]
However, he brought up a very good point. If I'm wrong, which is entirely possible, we'll be using the crystal floor instead. It's got enough caves that we have a chance at hiding safely there, and our powers aren't disabled either. If anyone knows about any floors that might work as more backups, please say so.
At any rate, dealing with the drones will not be our main priority, as I'm sure you all suspect. [She looks at everyone in the eyes.] Alone, yes, each one of us might be able to survive until this is over - but there is a strength in numbers that we don't have alone.
I propose that together, we attempt to locate and storm the admins' floor. God knows they've earned it for this.

You are relatively new here I would assume.
I am not, and I can tell you that this idea of yours has been tried before, in the year and a half I have been here I have witnessed and been part of many attempts at stopping these attrocities, at escaping, at storming the administrators. It ends in death.
We have been successful in stopping an experiment once, and successful in infiltrating the administrative levels once. Both times were with the help of Dax, who is dead.
This idea of yours will end in worse consequences both for those who have been experimented on, and those who have not.
They have turned our friends into their soldiers, into their servants, I imagine any disobedience will be dealt with by them. These experiments do not last forever and I propose we do our best to not force our friends to kill us.
The guilt may be more than they can handle, when they are back to themselves.
[Oh, he ranted a little bit. But he's not got much patience left for foolhardy heroes, as much as he is... was one himself.]
